Uncharted 3 MP Beta Thread: Cinematic Murder Testing

I know it was in UC2, but it always seemed odd to me that you would stop moving completely when you throw a melee attack. But I'd be curious what the UC2 lifers think of it. Do you like how it works currently? Hate it? Don't care? Would tweak it slightly if you could?

I think melee works great in UC3. The ridiculous lock-on fists of UC2 are gone, and it takes 3 punches to take out someone at full health. It's harder to abuse and much harder to do a cheap last-second melee kill on someone that actually killed you.

I'd say i'm now 100% used to how things work in UC3 and wouldn't change a THING about the core mechanics. NADA.
 
Is there anyway to see how many games you have played of what mode? I want to play 10 of each mode, but I'm not sure how many I've played of each yet.

Just thought I'd pop in here and say that I'm totally in love with the multiplayer. I've been sour on MP games for a long time but this makes me want to play the hell out of the full game. Had one nasty lockup so far but other than that the beta has been great.

Visuals are awesome too, no way do I see this as a downgrade from UC2.

Anyone want a beta key? I got it with Infamous 2, it might be restricted to EU. I have PS+ so I don't need it.

2 hits in standard TDM, and 3 in Hardcore.

Been switching between the two for a while now, and that's how it seems to be really. Also seems like you do have a sliver more health in HC.

I didn't write there was more health in hardcore, I was just asking if they nerfed the melee damage in hardcore. Guess I should pop in the beta again, but I don't recall having to 3 melee someone.
 
Got a pulldown on the cargo plane's side door last night. That's my new favorite thing in the history of ever.

Does the user you're trying to sign in with have a PSN account setup on the system?

Try launching the Uncharted 3 beta with that user and playing a game, then go back to your main account and try a coop session.

Yeah, and they need to reset their password as per the post-PSN blackout update. Figured it out after trying to sign in on their profile.
 
Wait, what? There's a fucking wallhack on Airfield?

I just joined a three team deathmatch and one team was just killing us from any distance in the map.

Edit -they were near where the hangars are with the turret on the scaffolding, near a shipping container.

One of the things I love the most in uncharted 3 MP is the stealth arrow indicator. So good to genuinely know if you're in a stealth position to crack their neck.

Also, very cool to end a match by nutcracking an enemy with my foot n 2vs2vs2, lol.


And to be honest I find most of the complaints something normal, but also unfounded since people have played this for 1-3 and a half days at most. Sprint has saved my ass enough times to be relevant. It kind of helps too if you want to be stalthy and run up a player to "oh snap!" him.

Constant speed means he runs away as much as you, so you never reach him and have to take him down with ranged weapons.

I really prefer having two modes of speed taht combined have an interesting approach for gameplay rather than a constant speed average.

This sounds like your teammates are doing it completely wrong. If they're not coming with that downed marker on screen, either they are trapped themselves, or just plain stupid and not playing cooperatively. You shouldn't have to choose the suicide option.

Also, I don't think I've ever made it past round 10. Either our team gets wiped by a volley of RPGs, or time just flat out runs out. I get that they want to make it difficult, but holy hell.

Made it past 10 yesterday with BeeDog. We slaughtered the opposition. But yeah, Round 10 is the very last round, and that was the first time I didn't see "UNKNOWN STRING". It actually said "Mission Accomplished" and then the time we took to complete it.

It was beautiful.
 
You know I used to think Kickbacks/power plays where shit but now that they got rid of "cursed" i'm really enjoying TDM. Did they changed how often power plays happen? Its seems to only be happening a couple of times per match and when they are 8 behind instead of 5. They also seem to fix smoke bomb because it takes 4 of my medals when used instead of 1.

Game is growing on me alot, I like everything they added but the weapon mods due to them needing some balance.

Wow, I had no idea that's what the light blue arrow indicated. For some reason, I always that it meant you and your buddy were trying to kill the same dude. So, if you got the kill you get the whole "high Five" thing.

Also, did anyone notice last night that their buddy icon would not show up on the map? I'm assigned a buddy and I can spawn on them but when I tried looking for them in map but nothing.
Could it be because someone has not created their tag so it would not show up in the map?

if they have no emblem it shows an empty square, but I have experienced this problem once too.

And yeah, I actually understood it was blue due to that when I checked it on the turret people, that once you get away from their sight their arrow turns blue. Stronger blue tells you you're in reach to perform an execution. Killing them ranged when they are light blue I think also counts as a stealth kill, can't really say.

I really hoped it wouldn't end on round ten. That would be a nice mix of time attack mixed with coop. And people would try to go very very fast to get as far as they can. Maybe it could be like round 10 again, just named 11, 12, and so on, giving you medals after every round you make.

What do you think?

Yeah. Climbing seems off rarely. When jumping to a ledge, character doesn't always grab it. Then there going to cover when trying to roll. Has cost me many lives. When I push and hold circle, it should only mean rolling.

Hopefully ND increases the total rounds in CO-OP or at least has a mode that lets you play as long as you can with more difficult enemies spawning every few minutes and link it to your friends list with an auto log system. That's wishful thinking but that would be pretty badass.

I have about 5000 dollar now, I am level 16 and my money just keeps getting lower and lower and I never bought anything...

Anyone else having that problem? It is quite frustating
 
Finally found my groove last night, use to finish out even. Then I found that rapid fire with the AK is beast, best finish of the night was 18-5.

nice! thanks for the tip. Ive been wondering why I didnt instant kill some people from behind at times.
 
No nothing wrong with money for me. In fact, what do you guys spend it on? I have a good $500,000 that is going nowhere

Are you buying the paid boosters before each match? If not than that's never happened to me so it might be a bug.

Yeah, in the beta there is not that much to buy. Hopefully in the full game we can actually purchase some crazy shit that costs a lot of money.

Also, is anyone else having trouble putting treasure sets together? I need more LOOT!!!

Have you bought any boosters or mods for your weapons at all?

Shieeet, I must have something like 10k just cause I usually end up with potentially skilled people buying paid boosters... which is a brill idea by the way.

You're buying paid boosters.
 
I hope level 3 weapons expert it something good because getting those triple threat medals is not easy. :P Level 3 Daredevil was really disappointing.

Sometimes I click at a booster at the beginning, but no way in hell that that means that of all my 350.000 earned money I spend it al on those boosters?? Are they that expensive? I didn't even know i costs money >.< I mean I bought one thing in the whole game >.>

Well the ones I use have unlocked as I level up. sometimes i buy paid boosters but rarely. I'll start

Sorry for the double post but I saw one booster go for $200,000. Although I dont know if its the one before you start a match. Those are usually $20,000
