Uncharted 3 MP Beta Thread: Cinematic Murder Testing

I hate paid boosters. You already have someone who is completely leveled up with their mods and already has an advantage on you but on top of that you want to give them the opportunity to be even more badass with fuckin paid boosters.....yeah that makes sense.

If you want to keep the paid boosters, how about letting them be only accessible via the treasure chests?

Tried this a bit a few days ago. It just wasn't fun to me. Everyone just seemed to immediately climbed up the XP ladder, disincentivizing anyone else from trying. And the map design and gameplay didn't feel as fun or clever as my experiences with Uncharted 2.

I wish they would get rid of paid boosters if only to simplify this game a bit. Paid Boosters, Medals, Treasures, Boosters, Pay Backs, Emblems, Weapon Mods, XP, money... there's too much shit going on.

I think im going to give this another shot. Played it once and thought it kinda sucked (still buying for singleplayer). Graphics looked kinda poo and my guy felt like he was just chugging around

They probably figured veteran UC2 players ended up with tons of money and nothing to spend it on. I agree that paid boosters aren't the solution though. Especially since all of them are pretty fucking good.

Just joined a game in progress and the black screen just stayed there...forever haunting me. Had to quit game which kinda reset my PS3 and get back in again. Weird bug.

I think treasure pick-ups are a little too rare in co-op. Maybe have it where it's very rare for normal dudes to drop treasure, but for armored dudes it's quite common.

Oh, yeah -- another thing about Co-op: in the Chateau, on the top floor Siege location, you can also climb through the wall that burns away.

Any way to keep track of this in game without writing it down?

Urgh! 10 free for alls remaining :(

I want those retail goodies so bad but can't bring myself to play this shit.

What is it that you don't like about FFA? I found it easier to level up playing that mode than any of the other competitive ones.

Yeah, can't even be bothered to do this. I may just settle with hitting level 25 and perhaps having enough luck to unlock the treasure sets.

Wait, what? There's a fucking wallhack on Airfield?

I just joined a three team deathmatch and one team was just killing us from any distance in the map.

Edit -they were near where the hangars are with the turret on the scaffolding, near a shipping container.

Go to cinema and see how they did it.

Also, true story, someone on matchmaking yesterday was euphoric that they were on green team.

what the crap..

I don't like free for all in any shooting games anymore. It just seems like a relic of the past. Teamwork and team based multiplayer has completely overshadowed that style of gameplay.

I can't quite put my finger on why I suck so hard at this. I was pretty comfortable with U2 and my stats were pretty decent as well. This however, I struggle against green badges when I myself am almost level 20.

Going through TDM and FFA were kind of a drag for me. 3TDM is kind of cool, but Hardcore is where it's at. Anything that pulls me from Hardcore is a bad thing.

I hope level 3 weapons expert it something good because getting those triple threat medals is not easy. :P Level 3 Daredevil was really disappointing.

What's level 3 Daredevil? Lvl 3 weapons expert is an extra mod on the long gun.

I suck at this MP, but I want to get better at with gaf. Bad_Boy is my PSN if anyone wants to party up.

Or is there like a UC3 saturdays like the old resistance Wednesdays?

Today I finally realized that you don't go looking for weapons anymore (Well, the basic weapons I mean). I had been relying on the AK-47, but it is just way to jerky for me. Enjoying the game significantly more with the G-MAL. Using the G-MAL on the airfield map is amazingly fun.

I have some complaints, which I'll probably post later. but I think for the most part they have been covered in previous posts. Overall I'm enjoying the beta. It needs work, but it is fun.

Though those cut scenes have got to go.

I can't wait until the full version when I get my baby back (the m4 +daredevil). People are gonna think that they're playing UC3 1.05 when I'm on my shit.

Ok finally getting to grips with it. Once it clicked for me I really started liking it. I am really hoping they speed it up a tad still.

To ND:

Five of my friends who LOVE Uncharted 2 were over today to check out the U3 beta. All of them were kinda disappointed in visuals and didn't like how slow it was. Impressed overall in the gameplay additions though :).

Has the level cap been raised? I was in a game the other day with a level 27 and 28.

Also I just went 26-7 I'm very happy.

I think so. I'm on level 27 right now, and loving the game.

Have been playing a few matches now.

I did like UC2 MP a lot, but didn't play it very much. I'm quite a noob in general, my K/D is 1 at most.

Having said that, this game feels a bit 'weightier' than UC2, but in a bad way. Aiming feels a bit sluggish, not as fluent as the previous game. Melee sucks as well, just mindless square-pushing and that's it.

I think there's too much shit going on as well. In the menu there's already a lot of stuff. I didn't see that paid boosters are for one match, actually. Are they? Doesn't jump out.

I don't really know what's a kickback either, it's like a killstreak award or something? I read about this stuff and I'm not dumb, but there's so much stuff thrown at you. How do the reasure work, for example? You only get rewarded when you keep them until the end of the game...?

Have any of you tried aiming with just the white dot on the screen and then going into the over-the-shoulder view? That's what I always do and I haven't had any problems with the sluggishness that way.

Absolutely loving this beta right now...

I for one welcome the CoD-ish additions. It simply makes level progression funner and more interesting. But with this comes that terrible unbalanced gameplay, but so far I haven't seen anything annoyingly unbalanced. My few gripes are the same as most here with the pistol and the melée.

As far as the pistol, I think I see what ND did there. Anyone try a fully upgraded pistol yet with the booster that gives you an extra slot? Maybe ND is trying to make the good pistol available as a booster?

The melée definitely needs to be fixed, it seems very inconsistent especially when chasing someone from behind then pressing square and whiffing it, which gives away your stealth. It's happened to me 9/10 times

One other thing that I don't really like is that it takes 3 medals just to change your loudout. Anyone else agree?

Kickbacks are earned by spending the medals you earned during a match. The number in the top left corner shows how many you have and how many are needed for your selected kickback. Paid boosters only last 1 match. Treasures are simply loot you collect to unlock more customization options. Melee isn't meant to be an actual combat move, but a finisher one on a wounded enemy or pulling off stealth kills.

There's a video in Uncharted TV that explains almost everything. Skip around until you see it.

I have both weapon mods for the Para pistol and it's still a piece of shit. It's so useless, period.

However if there's a shittier pistol than the Para, it's the .45 pistol in co-op. Holy shit is that pistol so bad. it was tolerable in Uncharted 2 because if you managed to get a headshot with it, they would die in one hit. Since standard enemies don't die when you shoot them in the head (this seriously needs to be fixed), it makes the .45 even more useless because it's weak in power, takes a long time for you to shoot the next bullet, and since headshots don't work, you need to hit them with 6 shots or more to kill them.

I agree that all pistols are shit in the beta but please do not try to say the pistol in UC2 was anywhere near perfect.

I spent a good few months just using the pistol because it was the most powerful, most accurate weapon in the game, far too overpowered.

It should be kept as a backup, to finish players off, that is all.

I swear if i get paired with another freaking level 4 for co-op... Staying in the area means staying in the area!
Ohh it so annoying, they run off somewhere and either get grab or knockout.

Kickbacks are like killstreaks. Depending on what medals you unlock you will be able to activate them faster.

Treasures are like loot. Theyre randomly dropped when you kill an opponent. You can collect them to unlock gear, clothes and emblems and other stuff to customize your character.

There are 2 types of boosters you can buy: those that you select to your character and those you can buy before a match. The first kind is attachable and the other is only temporary during one match.

You can increase your attached boosters in levels and get more perks to go along with them when you fulfill certain conditions with specific medals.

Nope... not at all... I don't why most shooters treat it like that either.

It should definately be inbetween both of your positions. a pistol is a weapon, capable of killing a man just like any other, but the pistol in UC2 was really good, in some instances better than a few of the automatic weapons. Im not sure how they rectify it though. shoot slower? bigger aim wobble?

I must say after hitting certain level, I am actually having fun today. All I needed is better rate of fire for AK. I think that is a problem if ND wants to keep low-level players in. There is an entry barrier there right now.

Keep the health, ND, I was wrong about that.

What needs fixing is rolling and going to cover and out of cover. A lot of time I wanted to roll out from a grenade and instead sticked to cover. One more thing concerns me and that is traversal. It happened quite a few times that I wanted to climb on something and instead just bounced of from the wall back down. When it happens in time sensitive situation, it's pretty annoying.

Is there a way to switch throwing arch for grenades? Indoors, I am usually throwing grenades into a ceiling and it would be helpful to have an option to switch to down-up arch.

If pistols were really good in Uncharted 2 as you guys keep preaching, why is it that the majority of deaths in a match DON'T come up with the pistol? Check out player's stats and you'll always see long range weapons kills outnumbering pistol kills. Nobody hardly uses pistols in Uncharted 2 except for close range combat where it would be blindfire + melee. It's always down the irons + fleet foot with AK47 and M4 kills. go play a match of Uncharted 2 right now and count how many pistol deaths from "long range" happen and see the player's stats on the ND website to see that long range weapons always outnumber pistol kills.

They were perfect and lol no they shouldn't be treated as a back up weapon.
