One thing that people are saying might prevent a level reset if you are getting warning signs: Do not back out of MP to get to the very main menu. If you're going to quit, quit with the PS button.

can you post a link to the ND forums about this? I'd like to read more about this. Very unfortunate.

As ND responded to any of this? Its very strange that its happening

I don't know if it was a placebo effect or ND backed out a bit since the blindfiring + melee combo is still in full force and remains the best way to play the game overwhelming those "fools" who actually take the time to aim. To me it seems like a street fighter online game with guns since 95% of the kills are caused by punches and laggy / silly cqc stuff that randomly happens by mashing square when an enemy is near.

I'm tired of seeing people running away from my carefully aimed M9 / AK + accuracy mod shots just by sprinting away and magically making my bullets disappear even if I see the hit markers. I'm also pissed that a lot of people (to be fair, I'm an Euro playing on US hosts) lag so bad that you unload 4-5 burst of the GMAL on their upper torso/head (you can hear the "ding" sound of a headshot) just to see how they magically dogde the bullets and just kill you with two ultra-fast blindfired shots from whatever weapon they're wielding + a melee attack.

This right here is why the MP is QUICKLY becoming unplayable to me.

Yes, it does. It's still not enough to kill someoene who is sprinting at you.

Anyone else have trouble reloading guns? I swear to god, I have to like mash the button several times so that it reloads sometimes. So annoying. :/

Regarding Quick Boom...that IS the kickback to use. Holy shit it's crazy how overpowered it is. The effect should go away if you die.

I'm not sure ND will do anything to fix grenade enthusiasts right now. You have to use all of your booster/kickback slots for it to be effective. Explosive Expert / Kickback Extension / Quick Boom right? On top of that, you have to be constantly grabbing grenades.

I don't know, my opinion I guess.
 
What is it with the overall pussification of every weapon? Two point blank shots from the pistole do not kill. :|

Haha, wth, no I'm not. I loved that sound in the beta, check the beta thread, so I know how it sounds. And it's definitly and 100% there.

The pistole does kill with two shots. They have to be successful shots though and it doesn't auto aim like the pistole from UC2 when you blindfire it (which is a good thing IMO).

Yup. Sometimes I forget to mash R2 so I end up running towards my opponent with like 3 bullets left in my magazine.
 
Does the level cap go up tomorrow? And do people know which maps they are adding? I assume The Museum and one of the other UC2 DLC maps since I saw them as a background?

As for the game, I have fun playing it, but it has a lot of issues. When I have a buddy for three-team deathmatch that is pretty much always a blast.

No, the level cap stays at 35 until the game launches. More maps are promised tomorrow, but we're not sure which ones.

Ahhh... okay thanks. I thought I read something about the level cap going up. Better off if it doesn't until retail anyway probably. I am excited to try some more maps though. I hope they hold off any of the big location reveal ones (like UC2's Lost City) until retail though.

Yeah, not true. It might not happen tomorrow, but it will happen.

Holy Moley! The beta has improved so much since I first played it when it was realesed. Still don't get why everyone loves desert village so much though =\

I am way worse than in the beta, I don't know why. In the beta my KDR was like 1.5 and now it's 0.75. Maybe it's because of the lage with us americans? I don't know. :(

I disagree. I'm sure skill trumps for a good deal of the time, but the most effective strategy I've seen involves sprinting, blind firing, and meleeing, which I do not consider to be skillful. Actual aiming and shooting is far too unreliable. And Kickbacks like the ability to pull an RPG out of your ass make it even worse. I'm not saying skill doesn't play a major factor, but it plays far less of a factor than I'd like it to.

I realize what's what is suppose to happen, but I've been in far too many unbalanced matches to take that at face value. I think the last match I played before I stopped was when there were 4 Rank 25-35 players on one side plus one who was rank 7 against 4 rank 1-7's on another while one was rank 35.
 
So out of curiosity I grabbed the Blindfire Accuracy on my AK-47. Needless to say I've done better running around mashing Square and R1 than I've done this whole time aiming. I mean I don't have exact stats to give but in the first beta I could easily say I had multiple games where my Kill Ratio would double my death ratio. 10 to 20 etc...

That doesn't seem to happen much in the new beta, but having honestly never blindfired much in the past I grabbed the AK-47 and literally I had the hang of it. By the 3rd game I went 21 and 9 or 10 somewhere around that area. Just proves to me that it's way overpowered and that if not better it's equal to aiming, which shouldn't be the case.

I would also like to point out that while I'm sure I've blindfired before, but never on a consist basis in the previous beta and UC2. So I was never used to actually using it and anytime I tried just to goof off my aiming was all over the place and no one died. The main point was with this beta the 3rd round of me blind firing it felt like I had done it for years.
 
I've been reading all the posts since my last post, and I'll answer again: people of the Subway promotion are able to play with the PSN+ ones? It seems the opposite..

Not really. I was a spaz and hit Circle a bunch of times, followed by an Up and a X out of idiocy. Too used to doing it from UC2.

Doesn't matter. There isn't a solid formula to determine if you're going to get reset, and that methodology is just another working theory.

I thought they mentioned lifting the level caps in the post made a few days ago? I know they mentioned new maps. but they also mentioned a lifting of the level cap. Maybe to 45 <-- that is my guess?

At this point, I might move onto dark souls as as much as I like the game; I've more or less finished the grind for now. After a couple of days I got over the fact that my level didn't go up anymore :'(

by the time I come back; full retail + whatever MP changes ND will make to the game.

they could. til ND seperated the games to troubleshoot the problems - that's what I read earlier in this thread anyhow. At this point in time, who knows. UC2 was a global game where every SKU could play everyone else.

Is the game laggy for anyone else today? Out of the 5 matches I've played so far, it's been a laggy experience.
 
Played a few rounds today and had a pretty good time even when I didn't do all that great. Its definitely growing on me but there are still obvious changes to be made. The M9 is such a better weapon than the AK that its changed my experience dramatically.
 
I'm still not a fan of the train sequence for London Underground. Wish it wouldn't last long because it's just so terrible. The actual arena map is great however.

Also find it pretty amusing how the M9 wasn't that good in the beta, but now it's actually better than the AK47.

Yeah instead of being a cool cinematic experience it's usually just pure chaos, not really sexy.

Agreed, its way to dark to really hit anyone, and the long range battles are just impossible. Plus, I end up falling to my death alot in confusion. I prefer the plane sequence way more.

I dislike the train sequence but then I hate both the aircraft carrier n London underground maps. I do wish there was more water in the stages. I mean, water n rain, uncharted does amazingly.

"Soon" as in the next few days. We'll have more specific details on what it contains tomorrow, but it should fix several critical issues. Stay tuned!

On their forums. Yeah, I have ZERO idea what is going to be in this patch. Will most likely fix the rank reset bug. Possibly some other crashing shit. As for gameplay tweaks, ehhhh, sounds slim.
 
For those of you who hate the Train sequence as much as I do, turn around when you first spawn and climb out the hole in the roof, then hang off of the very front/back of the train. From here, pop up with your pistol and put 1 or 2 bullets into any enemy you see and when they try to jump to the other train, they will fail miserably and fall to their death, giving you the kill.

It has two handholds at the very front, so if someone tries to come kick you off, just lower and watch them swing at air; then climb up while they're in the middle of their animation and pull their ass down. You can also easily shimmy to the wall side to avoid any fire when one of the trains pulls ahead of the other.
 
I have a good feeling about the patch! Please don't disappoint. Please don't disappoint!

You wanna know why I have a good feeling? Because the first patch that the summer beta received was fucking awesome.
 
in response to Darkatomz posts regarding level reset...

yeah basically when you hit level 35 and start suffering from severe frame rate drops at the beginning of each match, lag peaks, sound hiccups, recent purchases not being saved, money randomly taken out/added to your funds, slow in-game XMB and some other weird stuff it's a sign you're going to get a reset to level 1, there's definitely a bug with a lot of players who make it to the top of the leaderboards (just by playing a lot and getting heaps of XP and medals, not necessarily by having the best KDR or most points), seems like the stats server keeps "connected" with the beta client trying to exchange/update whatever info even in the middle of a match and obviously it doesn't work properly so the game eventually bugs out causing the server to loose track of your data.

my advice, stop playing until ND addresses the issue, if you're hooked and really need playing (even with Dark Souls out lol) just use an alt account, you'll be amazed how much smoother and less laggy a level 1 account is compared to a level 35 suffering from the mentioned issues.

and I don't want to act/look like the douchebag asshole online player that I might be, but I must say I hate that these players that would never kill me in Uncharted 2, Killzone, Resistance, Gears or other mp games where you need to AT LEAST aim to get a kill are owning me just by running around and smashing square while blindfiring like there's no tomorrow. I feel like aiming with my GMAL is pointless, the only solution is adding more stopping power, specially if the player being shot at using ADS is blindfiring or sprinting, just add more stopping power to each bullet fired aiming down the sights. They could try nerfing blindfire rate of fire and/or melee damage but that would affect too much their vision of the game and I believe would give again the edge to seasoned players leaving casuals in the dust, and that's not what ND seem to want.

just play with a different account, I stopped playing on my main as soon as I started suffering from the common level 35 "you play too much" issues, like severe framerate drops at the beginning of each match.
 
The train sequence isn't so bad as long as you don't climb up onto the roof of the trains.

Just stay in the cars, clear them out and jump from train to train.
 
Man, I got reset.

Was backing out to the main menu - game froze for a second, then went to the main menu. After I logged back in, it asked me to accept the online user agreement again. Everything gone, I'm back at lvl. 1.

At least I'm gonna get a bad ass kill/death ratio now lol.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind a reset myself for that very reason haha. I play hardcore mode so I never worked hard unlocking/leveling up stuff.
