Yea this is my biggest problem with the present gun play. Regardless of the gun (not just the GMAL), it's like you have to significantly lead your target even when they're just 10 or 20 feet away. I don't know if this is lag or shit hit detection, but it's definitely infuriating 1:1 tracking somebody with the reticle dead on and not landing a single bullet. My first guess is it's intentional design, caused by the sprinting mechanic. It's their way of making sprinting a kind of quasi-invincibility dodge move.

As a regular G-MAL user, I understand the feeling. So many times I've been outgunned by some dude half across the map spraying his M9 or even worse, his AK-47. At first I thought it was me just sucking at the game, but with more time and matches under my belt, I get the feeling G-MAL is seriously underpowered now.

It happens with the AK and the M9 too. Every fucking rifle in this game is terrible.
 
Just make the G-MAL be not garbage, ND. I don't ask for much. Anyway, I've officially ditched it and started using the M9. This became immediately a much better, less frustrating game.

If anyone is still on the G-MAL just stop it.

BTW there are hit confirm sounds like Thrakier said, plainly obvious with the M9. But there are none when using the shitmal...weird.
 
How about this for fixing Plunder:

1) Don't count kills at ALL. Don't even show them in game or after the game.
2) Kills shouldn't count on the leaderboards (They did say that in the retail version it wouldn't, but you never know if ND will forget)
3) Kills also shouldn't count in your statistic page. Even if kills don't go into the leaderboards in the retail version, but this remains...it'll still keep the kill farmers coming.
4) Earning medals for kickbacks should only be rewarded for carrying the treasure or protecting the carrier with protectorate medals...or stopping the other team from scoring (no cigar).
5) Disable buddy spawning. It's ridiculous how much people will camp and buddy spawn with their respective buddies in the team's bases.
6) Make up new medals specifically for Plunder that encourages teamwork and doing the actual objective. Medals like, stick with the treasure carrier for a minute, grab the idol a certain amount of times, walk a certain amount of distance with the idol, etc. Shit like that and since people will want to get medals for their kickbacks, they will have to do these tasks in order to get them.
7) Adding more voice work would be ideal too. Make your characters say help or protect me while they're carrying the idol. Make them say to go grab the idol to players who aren't even going for it. Hell, even if you don't want in-game character saying stuff, just have the announcer lady TELL them after a period of time. Maybe people will get the point if the characters in-game/announcer lady say stuff like that.
8) If I'm carrying a long range weapon like the AK/Sniper/M9, make it so that when I drop the idol, I STILL have my long range weapon. I don't want to be vulnerable with the pistol every single time I drop the idol when I'm being shot. The pistols suck and I can't protect myself with it. Why should I be punished with shitty pistols when I'm doing the objective? If we were talking about the amazing 92fs from Uncharted 2, I wouldn't complain, but we're talking about the shitty Para9/Rafica/Uzi.
9) If all else fails, make the Para9 the only weapon people can use and we'll see how that goes /trollface ha!

I realize that whatever Naughty Dog does, it will still not prevent kill farmers from going into these modes and ruining it for everyone, BUT that doesn't mean there can't be changes that could potentially decrease it. As long as it decreases it for a bit, I'm totally cool with that. No online objective game is safe from this and UC3 isn't an exception.

I lose 75% of my games even though I do well most of the time.
I also hate it being placed in an in progress plunder game on the losing team.
Why am I always on the losing team :(

LOL this guy. Clueless. Stopping power as it is right now does nothing. Ditching the GMAL has improved my entertainment tenfold though.
 
I agree it's annoying as hell to have the pistol as the default weapon when you drop a treasure. Doesn't make sense either. C'mon Naughty Dog, some of this shit is common sense - why would I want to have the weak weapon equipped when I drop a treasure.

I find it very hard to believe that during internal testing someone didn't bring this up.

Chances are, people quit early if the team is losing. Assuming you're selecting quick match, it's more likely you'll be joining a losing team as a result.

It's not you, it's the awful hit detection, and shitty lag. So far the MP has been a disappointment after UC2 MP and the first MP Beta.

...and having to enable shoulder switch?! Right there should have been my first clue that this shit is fucked up.

also,

Anyone else have their custom hero or villain reset when you choose another character? It happens to me all of the time. Let's say I'm using a custom hero and I change to Sully. If I pick the custom hero next time, he'll be with his default clothes and I have to re-customize him.

Yup, the custom characters reset if you switch to another character.
 
That piece of garbage g-mal was the culprit for all my misery. Just went 23-8 on TDM with the M9(and by aiming properly). Don't change a thing ND, lol.
 
Just went 15-3 in tdm. Normally I'd be thrilled by this but a majority of my kills can from extremely shitty spawns. Like, I'm pretty sure I killed the same guy 3 times in a row just because he kept on spawning right in front of me. Is the cinema mode still in? I'd love the show the shitty spawns.

I've had a few unfortunate spawns, mostly on the subway (lol, no pun). Once An enemy and me spawned right at the same fucking spot, lol, only he spawned right behind me. I got donkey punched twice and that was that.

Of course, these bad spawns are few and far between, and none approaches the levels of rage induction that the Village in U2 had, making you spawn below the moving tank.

Edit: Shit, I might try out the M9 tonight. It fucking PAINS me to leave the G-MAL. >:(

Yeah for some reason it's not a part of any of the rewards from codes. The taunt is so ridiculous I must have it! Giving someone the 5 dollar footlong taunt is about a million times more embarrassing than teabagging them.

Get that so many times in Airstrip, in the first part. Seems to love spawning me on the plane surrounded by people on the other team.
 
Its a different game when you start using the M9. That doesn't mean ND shouldn't address the issues though. All the problems surrounding this game are patchable and if the earlier beta is anything to go by ND can have the game changed to our liking even before release.

So, we were playing a match against another party of 5, they weren't particularly good or anything -- just camped the high Tbolt on Syria most of the time -- anyway, we're winning the whole time and they get a few powerplays out of it, but we still end up winning the game 50-48.

Only we didn't "actually win".

Why? Because of the stupid cunting, shit-for-brains-catering, "Overtime" kicked in and we didn't "actually win." Yeah, that whole match when we were in the lead only to tie it 48-48 and then come out on top with the final two kills didn't fucking happen. Nope. Doesn't count.

So the game does its fuckshit Overtime and guess what? We still fucking won it 56-54.

Oh, wait... I'm sorry. No, we didn't....

Because now, it's SUDDEN DEATH!

I say "Fuck this shit." and grenade myself because I'm not playing their bullshit shit and we lose because our last guy died 0.01 seconds before theirs.

Overtime kicks when it's 49-50, and Sudden Death if Overtime ended in a tie.

Both are awesome ideas anyway. My most intense games have ended in Overtime or Sudden Death.
 
Elena's footsteps are silent when sprinting and sound effects for reloading don't play while using her. Of all the characters I've played as today (defaults, Cutter, Drake), only she has these issues. What a weird bug.

It's hard to hear anyone's footsteps, even with quality headphones. I mostly use the grunts and voices to locate people around me.

No, they are absolute shit.

They can completely rob a team of their victory if they make an actual, legitimate comeback -- which I've seen happen many times.

There's nothing "awesome" about them, all of these stupid shit-fucking ideas (powerplays/overtime/sudden shit) need to be put into a "Clusterfuck" playlist.

I have had a match like that in the summer beta, only we won 60 : something.
But yes, it can be extremely annoying when this happens.

I don't get it...

I was told I need to play this for 1000hrs to form an opinion. Sorry.

Since the patch a few days ago, my enjoyment of the game has gone up to about 70% most of the time. It's when the perfect storm of bullshit happens that I get nuts and want to slap ND's shit! lol.

Yeah I don't see the point, I just decided to stop playing until they patch it again, hopefully they go in the direction of slowing the game down a bit.
 
Like I said the game feels great. The problem that it has though is balancing of guns. So far-

Gmal- Nerfed to Shit
