Oh boy you have no idea. lol.
The proposed BC hardware block confirmed!
Oh boy you have no idea. lol.
There are times where I secretly hope that both consoles are going to be equally underpowered.
The meltdown would be beautiful.
Joking aside, I would be rather glad if both Sony and MS took different directions. Then it would make even more sense for dual purchases.
Oh boy you have no idea. lol.
Where did you get that quote?
And doesn't alpha kits usually have better hardware than the final?
Buy two Nextboxen, incest them through the HDMI-in, double da graffix.
They are both more than powerful enough to offer next gen though. Really when you think about it.
See there it is. The 360 chipset is in the 720.
Actually my questions, as I made clear when I left that night. Were about CLOUD Computing. Thats why I asked the thread for help. Almost all of my questions revolved around that. I got random bits about MS staying on point. I assumed they meant the power point.
My original idea was that the 720 was "missing" uhmp because MS had made some headway in cloud computing. But that wasn't backed up.
As I have stated before. This isn't a tech guru like what I assume other contacts are. That's why I don't usually have exacts for that but instead for random bits, and if something cool comes down the line like the HDMI in.
Hopefully that stays in.
EDIT: And the bullshit I couldn't understand revolved around HSA efficiency and he told to study memory architecture and other stuff I still don't even get. I stopped trying to figure it out or write it up after a couple hours.
Do you know anything about PS4?
But why do that when you can buy one xbox, connect hdmi out to hdmi in and get infinite graphics?
So are people still getting labeled "Orbis fanboy" if they think the name "secret sauce" is stupid?
and wizard juice even worse
There has been a ton of projecting itt.looks like it. Infact it means they apparently think 720 is the next WiiU or some other melodramatic nonsense as alluded by some of the posts above.
When both the consoles are exactly going to be the same it is going to be hilarious.
Speaking of bc, I really hope Durango has it in full comparability. I have a pre-slim 360 and it would be nice in case it fails to play all the games on Durango.
So? SOC for BC in the higher Sku =/= more performance. It's a Ps3 situation, hardware BC in, then later it's out.
That doesn't improve ze situation
No by specs alone. I mean. Maybe it won't be the awe inspiring jump we saw last time. But these specs aren't anything to ignore.
The secret sauce is the 360 chipset.
Better pray hard.
Dynamic interpretation / emulation on Jaguar cores is going to be quite the technical challenge. It would have been a cinch if they went with steamrollers.
I think therein lies the issue. The hardcore want the same jump we had last time. Problem is the industry took a nasty bruise from the jump and is afraid to jump as far.
Perhaps that's a good thing. Time to focus on new control, design and gameplay elements rather than just visual fidelity.
I think we all know that MS will be going deeper in with kinect 2.0 the specs we have more than meet the needs to push that agenda.

Terrible sauce.

Well, we are already in HD and are getting to the point where the "little things" that add to immersion and graphical hitches (AA, AF, abrupt LoD pop ins etc) that detract from it, will be the key focus of next gen technology.
Also, in your opinion how close to this are we going to get in real time (and I must dance dangerously close to the edge so as to avoid losing our bet) if push came to shove at 720p30fps?
It's gonna suck hard if arcade purchases do not carry over.
That did be terribly amazing and expensive. Free up all eight cores and 8GB of ram for pure gaming.
They are both more than powerful enough to offer next gen though. Really when you think about it.
For realz?
Oh, I'm sure of that.
Just saying, as someone who sincerely want to own both systems, having them exactly equal in functionality would be boring. As offensive as it may sound, having some sort of set-top box/dvr capability in the nextbox actually doesn't sound that bad. I imagine it's going to be largely the same for the casual or "semi-core" crowd who won't be too concerned.
Again, I have no ill intentions or desire to see one trump over another.
I don't see how they couldn't at some point to that. It looks great but technically unfeasible? No not even. That doesn't include if much of that is on rails, or in corridors kinds of things. But I don't see any reason whatsoever we won't hit that.
You will still lose your bet
I think people are forgetting that we're not going to have the 3 times resolutions increase as last generation and the learning curve of multithreaded programming.
In addition, both Sony and MS would have a better grasp on making systems that have no bottlenecks and making better tools.
The 8-10x jump we have for next generation is going be more impactful on launch day / year than the 15-20x jump of last generation.
It was never meant to be seen by puny humans.That the human eye will never see

I want fidelity very close to it in a semi-open world game akin to Deus Ex: HR or ME. Also, care to hazard a guess on whether we will see the end of 2D backdrops (discounting plain sky) that can be easily discernible (Halo 4, I am staring at you)?
And pertaining to our bet, I will not lie, it does worry me.
I don't think its offsensive to want a warm, hot, hottest kind of setup.
I just don't see these 2 systems in some strange way being hampered.
So...
Ps4 = Xbox 1
720 = ps2
Wii u = Dreamcast

You know what's funny, 3-4 sources have said they are even, but all gaf gas been trying to do is damage their credibility.
So...
Ps4 = Xbox 1
720 = ps2
Wii u = Dreamcast
A few hours of fun on GAF wouldn't be worth the 7 years of pain and delusion.
And all you have been doing is trying to portray that they are equal in power for the past several pages.
A few hours of fun on GAF wouldn't be worth the 7 years of pain and delusion.
PS4=PS4
XB3=XB3
WiiU=WiiU
Preposterous.
Could you explain?PS4=PS4
XB3=XB3
WiiU=WiiU
PS4=PS4
XB3=XB3
WiiU=WiiU
