After this bombs I doubt Warcraft 4 is ever coming.
This could be the worst movie ever created and it would still have no effect on whether or not Warcraft 4 gets made.

Looks like a cartoon.
I feel like the people who are complaining about how much CG is in it are the same people complaining about Deadpool's character in the trailer, they don't actually know anything about the property.A lot of hate in here, I thought it looked cool. Even if it is CG heavy I won't mind, i've always wanted a full movie based on blizzards cinematics.
Warcraft is a huge franchise. Could pull 300-400 million easily.
I think the actual quality of the CGI is nice, but the actual aesthetic looks way too "video game". That won't change just because the video quality improves. I'm hoping once we see more footage of other locations it becomes more visually interesting and looks less like one long cutscene.
I'm more shocked at people who legitimately thought the orcs and insane magical set pieces were not going to be CG. Even potato off screen quality the CG looks great so i am in.

Yeah, don't like the floaty camera at allWorld of Bomba.
It's got that awful floating camera feel that instantly makes things feel artificial.
PJ would be proud.

What's wrong with cartoons?
Lol.

Way too much CG. I was not feeling that trailer at all.
I seriously can't believe all this "too much CG" comments in this thread, as if CG makes a movie bad. Avatar seemed to manage well as do a whole host of other movies. I wasn't impressed by that "trailer" but not because it was CG, because it was pretty boring and provided no context to me as someone who knows fuck all about Warcraft lore. The movie can be all CG, it can be half CG, it can be full live action, I don't give a shit as long as it's good. That means having an interesting story and competent cinematography.
Seems a weird complaint to level at this footage, considering the camera work looked pretty damn understated for so much CG footage, with everything looking as if it's on a tripod, dolly or crane. Nothing looked like an "impossible" camera move. Doubly weird coming from you considering Avatar is kind of the poster boy for floaty CG camera work, with the cam constantly shifting around hand held, slightly orbiting the characters/action seemingly at all times. Jackson is less floaty and more annoyingly sweeping in his CG excess.World of Bomba.

Maybe they'll pull a Scuicide Squad and release something more official just to keep people from making judgment calls on the film based off of low-quality footage.
The fact that Legendary didn't release any official footage in the first place is baffling to me.
What bothers me the most of CGI scenes is the fake floaty movement the camera has, as well as the impossible angles from which they like to show scenes which inmediately tells me, "yep, this is def CGI". Does the footage you saw still have that? There seems to be a lot of people confused by this footage, so let me clear up a few things as best I can.
- First, this isn't a trailer. This is about half of what was shown at SDCC, and definitely the less interesting half. The Azeroth scenes and the battle scenes were more brisk, and the latter more exciting.
- This movie is very CGI heavy. Lord of the Rings, it is not. Those expecting a LotR style look are going to be disappointed, so better to switch up your expectations now. Those people that always watch the intros and say "Blizzard should make a movie!" on the other hand are going to eat it up. The CGI is actually pretty damn good though. I just rewatched the Warlords of Draenor intro and the movie is a noticeable step up. It's a heavy fantasy look, even in Azeroth, but for fans I think it'll ultimately work.
- The worries about this movie not having wide appeal are premature. The preview we saw clearly showed good and bad components of both the Humans and Orcs. You can empathize with both sides, which if shown in a proper trailer, can probably garner interest amongst non-fans who have interest in these fantasy movies. Kids are certainly going to flock to this.
- The movie is first and foremost a fan's movie. Nostalgia is going to consume WC/WoW players with this. Seeing Dun Morogh and the inside of Ironforge took me back. You get your Dwarves, your Medivh, and lots of spells straight from the actual game in here. It's the Warcraft you know and love, and the unreal visuals are the main reason for that.
- The live actor/CGI blending works for the most part. I felt there was an Avatar-esque adjustment period upon first seeing it (especially with Garona and the Orcs, as she isn't full CG), but it went away. There is also a lot of time to polish too, so I think it'll turn out even better in the release version.
If anyone has specific questions, I'll answer them to the best I can remember.
Yep, now would really be the time to release a short teaser that shows short glimpses of various scenes in the move. This scene by itself was clearly not meant to be released as a trailer.Maybe they'll pull a Scuicide Squad and release something more official just to keep people from making judgment calls on the film based off of low-quality footage.

I will reserve judgement until we see a better quality trailer but that was boring as fuck, I ended up skipping most of it.
What do those enormous bodies eat to survive in a deserted place like this?
I would make a joke about how one day soon people will start complaining that Pixar's movies have "too much CGI", but then again...this is the internet.
So we get this instead of Warcraft 4?
Ugh
Haha, handled it much better than the Suicide Squad guys for sure.Lol.

IM ALREADY NOT IONTERESTED THIS IS JUST ONE BIG COMPURTER
You have that one shot towards the end that starts out between the orcs running and then goes up all the way to the top of the portal.Seems a weird complaint to level at this footage, considering the camera work looked pretty damn understated for so much CG footage, with everything looking as if it's on a tripod, dolly or crane. Most of the footage has that type of camera. Even when you see the movie version of this shot for example, it's clear you're not looking at something real. The movie has a very unreal look to it as a whole (at least at this point). It's definitely by choice.
What the fuck did I just watch? Was that supposed to be a trailer? I think I fell asleep halfway through.
Gaf's logic at its best
