What should DC do next to salvage DCEU? Fire Snyder?

Bring in the one character that will (probably not) shake the world for his own movie.

Also starring a Latina former detective with a hidden heart of gold.
I'd fucking make a great Question movie.
I'd have the start with him infiltrating a military facility in Iceland. Where he unearth's a destructive secret.
For his introduction, I'd have him take off one of these:

.
As he comes out of an elevator.
Only to reveal a man with no face.

No studio exec who fancies his job is greenlighting a summer tentpole with Jensen Ackles as a co-lead.

Three years ago I would've said no exec who fancies his job is gonna greenlight a Batman v Superman movie with Snyder directing and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.

But here we are.

Aren't we a little early for the salvage talk? Give it until next Monday..that'll give a clearer picture of the situation.

Yeah lol, considering WB was OK with using MoS as the foundation for this universe after it wasn't universally acclaimed, they're not just gonna back out after this so easily. They have faith in their long game here, plus the movie maybe just be a critical dud and still do huge numbers and gain a devoted fanbase.

They just need to wait for the internet supernerds to shut the fuck up. A film they don't like and it's 'Worst film ever! Fire everyone!'

Yeah, 'cos you're qualified to make that decision.

Jensen Ackles is 38 to Ben Affleck's 43 and you want him as
Jason Todd? I get he voiced him pretty good in the animated movie and I really want the Batman movie to be adapting Red Hood,
but I can't believe there actually are people (mostly Supernatural fans on tumblr taking ridiculous fan casting to a whole new level) that want him in this role.

yeah, theres a bit too much glee here at the prospect of people losing their jobs.

Step 1: Get Bill Hader and Kirsten Wiig.
Step 2: Get Andy Serkis.
Step 3: Refocus the DC Movie Universe with them as the center:

Yup. I seriously disliked BvS but random people on the Internet thinking they know how to run a movie studio is laughable, especially when we have no idea how much money this movie is going to make yet.

People could have the worst opinion of it but as long as it makes a billion dollars, they don't care.

Snyder has made his money. He'll be fine. Undeservedly so, but he will be. And nobody is shitting on the design/technical crew. But the key creative forces clearly need to be ousted.

Instead, bring in some people who have actual reverence for the material instead of "edgy deconstructions" which Snyder clearly doesn't even understand. If he's actively going to Frank Miller for help, there's clearly a fucking disconnect between what he thinks these characters to be, and what people wanted them to be.

Snyder for the first Justice League, George Miller for the next because he fucking deserves it. Bring in more creative consult from top tier writers of good DC material to help make decisions.

Don't deviate too far from plan. Execute much better from here. Simple.

Director = Chris Nolan
Batman = Nathan Fillion
Robin = Idris Elba
Red Hood = Jensen Ackles

Send my check in the mail, WB.

I wish they will. Snyder clearly doesn't understand what make Superman and Batman two of the most popular comic book characters.

But then again, I wish people would stop giving Michael Bay's jobs.

Michael Bay makes money. Snyder doesn't make nearly enough to be worth the badwill he engenders.

Where's the Supergirl love?

When the ratio of "Barely watchable" to "OK, that wasn't too horrible" improves there will be more love.

If you want a good drinking game, binge season 1 and take a shot every time they mention Superman, chug a beer every time they mention "her cousin."

Not responding directly to OP but...

Why does Nolan have to be the savior of everything DC?

Let him direct his own movies, I don't want the DC movies to copy the tone of his Batman films. Those movies work fine on their own.

Why do people come in a forum where people talk about things they enjoy and get pissed when there is some fun discussions going on? Just because we're talking about it, doesn't make any of us experts, definitely not me. You're not a junior so you should be able to get the basics of how forums work. Garbage posts like this are really annoying. I don't know much about this business, but I'd love to see peoples' take on it and see how they are compared to my own.

The movie's not even out yet.

You're literally having a meltdown over the Tomatometer.
He's not making overall well received movies which might hurt the universe and I didn't like several things in MoS that he did against better advice of smarter people than him.

Nolan was interested in Batman. His investment and interest is over. I don't see him being the guiding hand behind a fucking Green Lantern movie with the same enthusiasm.

Nolan is out, forget him folks.

Christopher Nolan said:
“I think I had a great experience with the superhero genre and got to explore a lot of things, but it was a good decade of my life and I find it hard to imagine returning to it. But never say never.”

I wish they'd pick higher ups, and this goes beyond Snyder, that don't have a vision that feels like they are ashamed by the absurdity and immaturity of the genre.

Not aiming this at you directly but you can have a discussion about something without acting like the film was made to personally piss you off. The reactions on this forum to this film have been waaaaaay overblown. It may not be exactly what you wanted, it may not even be a good film, but the whining and bitching is just hysterical.

Hmmm make Jonathan Nolan team up with Johns to be the Feige of DC...but, although i'm guessing OP means it interchangably, but isn't Johns the only person at DC, other than maybe Diane Nelson, who really has any sort of input at all on the films? Otherwise its all WB and Johns seems more like the guy they call when they need some info rather than him green lighting scripts and concepts.

Edit: Fire Snyder. He may be a yes man but he likes to bastardize the source material while pretending to cosplay. Push JL many months back, whatever is required. Maybe get George Miller for it but...really I don't know if the man has it in him or wants to, but maybe have him in a producer role for the things, and a consultant in exchange for the money for another Mad Max film. Have Nolan and Terrio and Johns team up to map out a timeline for the movies that ends at JL 3 (so the DCEU can have a beginning, middle and end) and I'm guessing this would include at least one more solo Superman film, 2-3 WW films,1 GLC, 1 Cyborg (maybeee), 1-2 flash films and 1-2 Aquaman (probably one) etc. Have them all be solo films that build towards the JL. So JL1 could be Thrones of Atlantis. JL2 could be Brainiac. JL3 is Darkseid.

Take a page out of Crisis on Infinite Earths and have the Monitor start to appear at the end of JL2 and in every film until 3 and then at the end of 3 he can reveal the presence of the Multiverse, Including the CW shows, the comics and more. That way they can take a break and any reboots in the future can be a different Earth and tie into this larger franchise. Actually also get Johns' old mentor, Richard Donner, onboard as another consultant.

I got no idea about directors.

My biggest worry after Snyder's recent comments is his tunnel vision in regards to the tone and violence. I don't mind if there are arcs but even though Terrio said JL would be lighter in tone if BvS is the darkest in their mapped out universe...I just have little faith Snyder won't fuck it up somehow, especially if Terrior wanted to ditch the Knightmare sequence until the JL movie and Snyder decided to put it in.
