What's your next-gen hype level at?

My hype level is zero, because we haven't seen any games.

I don't get excited about hardware.

Very excited to see next gen, but my PS3 backlog is so big that I really don't need to get a new console for a while if they're not too promising.

Numbers cannot describe my excitement for the PS4 reveal. Only this GIF

10. I just want to see right now what next-gen consoles are capable of. I'm prepared to be disappointed. Very excited for Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, Mario 3D U and Bayonetta 2 though.

It's cool to be negative, and underplay your excitement.

That being said... I'm more hyped that at any point in gaming for the last 20 yrs.

Phew.

But aren't you excited for the future games and basically the general info about the next consoles or maybe surprise announcements etc?

Well, I'm not excited now, but if they deliver something good and unexpected, that might of course change in a few days. I said before that I will at least be interested in the general info about the PS4 (especially system UI, region lock and controller).
I will be excited for the new XBox if Cave will develop for it, going by the 360 I don't see anything else that could excite me.

Also to watch the meltdowns and hype on GAF is always a plus.

Personally, I'm not looking forward to the fan wars. It's already annoying with the Vita and WiiU and will be even worse with the PS4 and whatever they decide to call the new XBox.

7/10.

Currently playing high end pc titles and I'm unsure if next gen can even compete with those. Skyrim with proper mods and enb is godly. I still like some console franchises and am very interested to see updated versions of those as well as new IP's.

Microsoft - 1

Sony - 1

I'll follow everything that goes on, but I won't get a new console anytime soon. I might pick up some games for cheap if they seem interesting. If I then have enough games to make me want a console, I'll get one. I have over 70 games in my backlog and there are still many games I want buy from previous generations and the current one.

10.

PSOne was awesome. PS2 was awesome. PS3 was awesome. I have absolutely no reason to believe that PS4 wont be awesome.

Hype 10 out of fucking 10.

And if the NextBox isn't really on this always online/no used games bullshit I'll be riding that MS dick just as hard.

Virtually non-existant. I don't know what it is, but this time I really couldn't care less. Probably because I haven't touched any of my consoles for months.

Close to zero. The news regarding the next Xbox and the PS4 pretty much killed it. For now, it's looking like it's going to be PC/WiiU/portables for next gen.

PS420 have both done their best to diminish any enthusiasm I had. 5/10 for both. Interested, but they have a lot to prove.

True next-gen for me is Star Citizen with an Oculus Rift. In every interview Oculus has proven that they're tackling the details to make the best gaming experience possible. They have a lot to prove, but I'm impressed with what they've said so far. Can't wait to hear impresions from the Dev Kit. 10/10

Bouncing between 1-3. Haven't seen anything concrete on specs, haven't seen anything game wise, and rumors of always-online bullshit has my left eye twitching in pre-rage fashion. I'm going to hold off final judgement on anything for quite some time still, but there is a chance that my PS3 and 360 will be my final consoles.

8/10 for PS4, can't wait for the 20th. That said, I don't want it in my house right now, I'm ok with waiting for its release because I've got a huge PS3 backlog to eliminate before it arrives.

3/10 for Durango, I'll probably watch the reveal as I'm curious what Microsoft is doing but I'm not really considering to buy it.

Very little at this momment, we havent seen anything and we are getting bombarded by bad rumors like no second hand games and cloud retrocompatibility and the hardware being less powerfull that some would expect.

I need to games to be hyped, games like the new Forza and Gran Turismo, plus new projects.

0. But I can't wait for everyone's expectations to be shattered when they see that next gen isn't as much of a leap as they imagine.

Plus, used games lols, always-on DRM lols ,etc.

Did you mean 'next-gen console' hype? you should really specify. To me i've been playing 'next-gen' for at least 2 years on an Uber PC in 3D Vision. I don't think PS4 or Xbox420 games will even look as good as some of the stuff i'm already playing. and 3D really is a gamechanger when used / tweaked properly. So, nope. no hype at all. Some exclusives will obviously change that though.

1000000000000000000
since my 360 got RROd and ps3 is gone

ive been playing wii while im waiting for next gen
dat sub hd...

Pretty much zero and none. I'll keep my PC.
Real next-gen gaming will be done with The Rift, and I might consider buying that.

Microsft: 5/10. Cautious, is the word. I'm worried that they'll try and shoehorn in too much of their own media offerings at the expense of others. What chance of a Spotify app is there with Xbox Music? If they wanna push that entertainment hub angle, and I don't mind, they should at least do it right. Otherwise, it will have Halo and I will be there.

Sony: 2/10. PlayStation consoles have generally been misses with me, offering up only a handful of games worth caring about. This includes third-part exclusives, which are increasingly rare and irrelevant these days. I've also been burned by Sony tech in a wider scope -- the Xperia S is the worst phone I've ever owned -- so I'm not really enamoured with them as a company right now. I'll likely still get one as the missus will wanna play Square-Enix games on it.

Ah I understand.

Yeah the fan wars baffle me. But all the years on the internet has desensitized me and every now and again we come across a gem that makes us laugh at it all. :)

Maybe a 3?
Only "next-gen" game I've seen is Witcher 3 and I'll be getting that on the PC just like that last two.
No point in getting excited until I see some games that justify new hardware.

Nintendo 9/10 - Monster Hunter just around the corner, VC on the horizon, Animal Crossing finally dated. One point off for slim pickings on Wii U schedule and no Picross-e in NA.

Sony 3/10 - Interested to see the new hardware, what they may or may not have copied from Nintendo and MS, but likely waiting for a price drop before committing to a purchase. Largely not interested in their franchises with a couple exceptions. Not expecting Vita news but it would be nice to have them announce a reason to buy one. Will cringe every time they take a schoolyard stab at Nintendo or MS during their presentation.

MS 0/10 - No interest at all, especially if Kinect is vital to the experience. I have no reason to own both Sony and MS, and Sony has handhelds and will likely have some BC with my existing library which gives them the upper hand for me.
