What's your next-gen hype level at?

About a 2 or 3.

Many of the franchises I care about probably won't have a new game released until two or three years from now, Microsoft and Sony's first-party games have never been system-sellers for me, and the known/hinted next-gen games so far that I want I would rather get for the PC.

4.

The Wii-U is way overpriced for what it is and doesn't have enough compelling games for me to jump in yet. I'm wary of the Playstation 4 due to how badly Sony handled the PS3 and how they screwed up with the Vita. The more I hear about the next Xbox the less interested I am.

It doesn't help that FPS games are still the dominant force going into next gen. Yeesh.

I want next gen like I want all shiny things.

I also want no new games to be released for the next couple years so I can attack my backlog.

I'd say 7/10 mainly because I still have a backlog of games to play, but I'm still eager to see the next big jump in game development. New hardware means new ideas and the industry has been suffering from a bout with sequelitis the last few years.

4/10

Probably would have been at a 6 had it not been for all the prerelease stuff about no secondhand games, cloud based BC, kinect being required, etc. I've just been soured. It'll probably change the night before the Sony announcement.

Wii U = 3/10

After the Would be a 1 if it wasn't for the Nintendo Direct. Such an abysmal start.

PS4 = 7/10

Mainly because their conference is right around the corner and the tibits so far have been quite good. Hopefully things don't nosedive on Wednesday.

720 = 1/10

Not really interested in the games MS's typically pushes and the always online rumor is quite the hype killer.

2 for Sony, 2 for Microsoft. I at least want to see what they're doing, but I really don't care about purchasing either unless I see some fantastically original and fun-looking piece of software.

I already have a Wii U and it's all right.

4/10.

I'm pretty comfortable with my PC as my primary (western) gaming platform, and thus the bulk of that 4 comes from knowing there will be better PC games in the future due to a power increase in consoles. Hype could shoot up dramatically if I see some promising stuff coming out of Japan for PS4. Else I'll gladly stick to 3DS and potentially Wii U for my fix there.

i'm at 10 right now

absolutely hyped as hell for a PS4 right now. I was more pumped for the 720 at first, but the rumors about always online, kinect required to be connected watching me constantly, no used games and a possibility of being less powerful as well really put the PS4 as my choice for this fall.

i was so pumped that it got me to go buy a ps3 deli slim today that came with UC3 and bought ni no kuni as well and got a free headset. it's my tax return treat.

i'm really hyped for the 20th right now.

Excited and not. I just bought a video card that cost more than my PS3 so I dunno how I'm going to convince my wife that I need a PS4 when I still have games I haven't finished on it.

Now, if GTA V is announced as a release game, then yes, I'll drop the cash.

Sony: 6/10

Not really hyped right now but I'm sure once I see everything about PS4 in front of me I will be super hype

Microsoft: 2/10

Not interested in Microsoft platforms really, but who knows. Maybe they'll show off something that I NEED to play.

Sony - 6/10. I will more than likely buy a PS4 due to exclusives, but at this point I doubt there will be a game at launch that will turn my hype levels into DAY ONE

MS - 1/10. I seriously doubt they will have even one exclusive at launch that will make me interested.

Next gen hype - 4
Oculus hype - 11

DING DING DING !!

Oculus is the only semi innovative thing that gets me hyped and the Wii U Tablet at it maxx potential
But the rest is just graphics thiss, media box that....

About a 4 or 5.

I have a Wii U and just got a 360 last month. I'm pretty much set for the next few years in terms of new consoles, with the exception of building a gaming PC. Just bring on the games Nintendo.

Based on what I've seen of UE4 and Crysis 3? A solid 3. It hasn't impressed me.

But based on uncharted 2, gears 3, etc I know the output should be amazing, but nothing has been shown yet.

Hovering just above the floor?

I prefer the PC for gaming, but I like what the PS3 became. The overall media box is a cool thing, but I still prefer PC. Still I am sure there will be some exclusives I will want to play at some point, so I will just buy one after the big price cuts.

Based on what we already know ... 6 maybe.

I'm a PC gamer mostly. New console are actually going to be GREAT for the PC. You can imagine that the next xbox will be DX11, being that PC games will finally be taking full advantage of Hardware Tesolation and Compute Shaders.

Not very high for either console at the moment. I need the games before I jump on the train!

I think all the Durango stuff is mostly a big overreaction by GAF. We will see.

Orbis sounds good so far, but then again so did PS3 and that ended up being my least played console since the Saturn.

I am very tired of this gen though. It's been a few months since I turned on a console.

The rumours surrounding the Orbis and the leaked pictures of the controller - 9/10

Rumours of the Durango specs, blocking second hand games and always connected Kinect - 0/10

With regards to the PS3 8/10.

Durango 4/10.

Sony is really pushing that momentum at the moment and I can't wait until Wednesday.

I guess 5 since overall i've only seen what the WiiU has to offer. While i'm happy about that, cant be max hype when I have no idea what the other two have to offer.

Not nearly as hyped as the crazies with the gifs, but getting more interested the more I hear about the next gen PS.

It's at a 5 I suppose. I'm currently happy with my PS3 (Wii U sucks away all the dust from it) and I'm going back and playing a lot of older games for the first time from older generations so at the moment, I'm not all that crazy about next gen but I'd be lying if I said I didn't care at all.

Pretty hyped. This past generation's gone on for way too long and some new hardware coming soon is very exciting at this point. I don't plan on jumping in this year, but I'm looking forward to it just the same.

6/10. I'm taking a wait and see attitude towards the WiiU. If the big Nintendo games are great I'll probably buy one. But I'm more excited for Durango and Orbis, very curious to see what they bring to the table. I'm very excited about the concept of Destiny, we'll see if it can deliver.

I bought a Wii U this week, so I'm onboard already and I'm probably not going to be buying any other system due to anticipated time and eventual money constraints. I have a PS3, so if that ends up failing I might upgrade it assuming PS4 is bluray player and BC, but even then it's not a given.

My interest in all 3 systems right now is:

Wii U - 7. Concerned about the future of its software library, but also more inclined to enjoy the games on it from first party studios.

PS4 - 5. On the borderline. I'm interested to see what it can do, but I don't have any intention of buying it for reasons outlined above. I'm happy with my PS3 as it is and am in no hurry to get another machine.

XBox 3 - 0. No interest whatsoever. Their customer service this gen has been disgusting and as a result I have no intention to buy another of their products ever again.

+0 for being me primarily a PC gamer (nothing ever changes in this spectrum)

+5 for the promise of new consoles from MS/PS that should, in turn, push forward PC games
-1 for Microsoft killing off my interest in any of their exclusives with the latest Halo release
-1 for Microsoft's focus on Kinect and the HTPC uses of Xbox
-1 for Sony being in huge financial distress.

+1 for Nintendo's ongoing commitment to innovation in their consoles (misguided or not)
+1 for the promise of HD remakes of classic Nintendo games (Wind Waker HD)
-2 for Nintendo launching a new console which is spec'd a bit too low, and already being snubbed on third party support

Total: 2/10

As someone who cares more about the control interface & camera tech.

9/10 for PS4 & Xbox 3 knowing that the cameras will be standard & someone is going to come up with something good out of all this.

Kinect with 1080P RGB camera & 512 x 424 Depth Camera & PlayStation 4 with 2 720P cameras that might be 240FPS & a trackable controller with touchpad. I can't wait to see what can be done.

I want to edit my hype level from 2 to 1.
Forgot about this camera shit being a pack in.

I'm way more hyped for the meltdowns and hilarity in the topics about the reveal than the reveal itself, at least those will be entertaining for a few hours.
