The Last of Us.
They're all fun, but for different reasons.
The gameplay mechanics in both Resident Evil 1 and Resident Evil 2 far more basic than the Last of Us. Even though that's the case, what makes it really enjoyable is figuring out puzzles, backtracking and surviving enemies that you encounter along the way. Mr X in Resident Evil 2 remake is designed to make things unpredictable. You may beat the game 2 or 3 times, but you're still a bit on edge because you're not always sure where he is at that exact moment.
As for the The Last of Us, the gameplay works well through the mode AND online competitive play. The melee combat is more enjoyable because you can take someone down with a bat, crowbar or even your fists. The hand-to-hand combat seems brutal and satisfying, something you don't see in Resident Evil 1 and 2 (and I wish they would keep it that way). The infected are far more harder to fight than the zombies, lickers, dogs, hunters you find in Resident Evil games. But on the other hand, Resident Evil 2 boss fights are more difficult compared to the Bloater and David. It's also very satisfying sneaking behind enemies and taking them out with a shiv, either offline or online.
