Um, what?
That's what they did. Google it.

I meant the PS4 version.
RE2 Remake > TLoU > Re Remake
I wouldn't exactly call them apples and oranges in terms of linearity; they both are story based games with clearly defined beginnings, middles and endings its just that the non-linearity in TLOU comes mainly from combat sandboxing not exploration. Its not a corridor shooter, its pretty much a series of set-piece confrontations where the player is able to choose an approach of their choosing.
The thing is TLOU has a lot more mechanics and thus options available at all times. The choice of which is made meaningful by the extended range of difficulty settings and accumulating weapon and ability growth.
I like Resident Evil's gameplay a lot, and I do think it works really creatively within its numerous self-imposed restrictions. The truth is though if you were set a task of bettering the two games. making a better TLOU is a far tougher proposition than making a better Res Evil because there are so many more moving parts to contend with.
The problem I have is really this. If you want to put REmake over TLOU you need to ignore/dismiss all the aspects that ND's game excels in as being important. Which I really cannot do, because I have a ton of respect for the amount of talent and effort that it requires.

But I don't think it's fair to assume that the spare elegance of Resident Evil's puzzle-box mansion was necessarily any easier to execute. The gameplay is much less mechanically dense, but the actual skeleton of the game, with its satisfying escalation of backtracking and inventory-based puzzles, is a lot more complex and challenging than TLOU's corridor of combat set-pieces and cutscenes.
I think good design is hard to get right and usually requires intense labor, whether it happens to be minimalist or maximalist design. (Obviously within reason and excepting true extremes: a no-frills Tetris game is an easier vision to execute than No Man's Sky.)
As much as I enjoyed Last of Us, that game is not survival horror game. Calling Last of Us survival horror is like calling Bioshock survival horror. The encounters in Last of Us doesn't even have same intensity as encounters in RE, Dead Space and original Evil Within. Some of the best horror games I've played in recent years are games like The Evil Within 1 and 2, and The Last of Us. All of them feel brand new. They take the concept established from the past, and sort of imitate what has came out before, but they add new takes on it that work extremely well, rather than subtract things and devalue them.
TLOU is a very modern, mechanically dense game, with stealth and crafting and a cover system. That kind of density is incredibly hard to execute competently, and it achieves that. I agree it's impressive.

I used to love them, project zero ect, but these days , not so muchThat’s the point of survival horror games.....at least for me.
What a crappy poll.
Re2r is not even a month old,
Thats not true for everybody. I highly enjoyed TLOU but I personally waaaaay more fun with RE series, to me the combat, level and enemy design was just much better in RE.TLoU is better than every Resident Evil except 4, no matter what genre you lump them in.

I personally would say TLOU is better than RE5 and RE6. Also in my opinion both Dead Space 1&2 are better survival horror game than TLOU.Would you pick EVERY RE over TLOU? Personally I could see maybe 3 of them making that cut
??? How Ellie being lesbian has anything to do with game being fun or not? Seriously, do people have that much issue with Ellie being lesbian?Imagine thinking a game where you have to be followed by your lesbian daughter 24/7 is actually "fun".
