As of right now, no. Neither Metacritic nor Opencritic have included this "review" in their score.
It makes sense to have a prefix that denotes "non trans" to use when having conversations about gender, you ned one really or it gets confusing. Cis is as good as anything else. No need to get all fragile about it.
Nah. You don’t really need a prefix to describe 99.4% of the population.
Ya.
It's like a self-sabotage.Ya.
I'm positive he had over 900k not far from 1M at one time He's at 800k flat. He was 802k last week when I did a post about him. He'll be in the 700s any day now. He's probably lost about 15% of his users in a handful of years, which is crazy since follower counts for people go up in time unless 1. It's a dead account for years and people eventually curate their followers list and cut off accounts. 2. It's such a heinous account to follow and people spend time deleting it from their lists.

In Latin based languages there are words that actually use those prefixes without any gender meaning.Nah. You don’t really need a prefix to describe 99.4% of the population.
Probably closer to 99.9% if you only count the real trans people and not the pervy pedo weirdos masquerading as trans.Nah. You don’t really need a prefix to describe 99.4% of the population.
He definitely had over 900k subs because he did a under 900k special to show how not mad he was.Ya.

I liked his intro song and the accent.I used to watch his stuff, haven't watched a single video since he came out as mentally ill.
He used to be cool on Destructoid. Like 2007ish. He was one of the few people that wouldn't blindly shit on Dynasty Warriors games at the time.No idea why anyone liked him/her at any point. He's/she's always been an abrasive nobhead

Well that's the problem isn't it? When I was younger it was perfectly normal for a girl to be a tomboy and for a boy to have feminine traits. It's not insane to realize like opinions in life there's nuance. It isn't black and white like ...oh she's into sports so let's push her to get her breasts chopped off and tell her she's a boy. Extremism like that is dangerous. Letting kids be kids is extremely important but people take such hardline stances on every little issue now. I have no problem with someone identifying as whatever they want, I have a problem with parents claiming their 4 year old can make such a huge decision about themselves though.I spoke with a couple of psychologist about this subject while attending leadership seminars and what I found interesting is that it's a proven fact in the field of psychology that a lot of people exhibit some behavioral patterns that are characteristic to the opposite sex than what we are. However, my general unbiased conclusion from those discussions is that yes, it is possible for men to act more feminine or women to be more butch, but I don't think it's healthy to enable those kinds of people to go into extremes such as performing sex change surgeries or start dressing up like they're about to put on a show in a circus.
I believe that those people, on top of suffering from an identity crisis that's exacerbated by certain social expectations (eg. "you're male therefore you should thoughen up" or "you're female therefore you should be sensitive and caring"), they just suffer from varying degree of mental disorders that simply push them into those extremes. And everyone around them never stop to think about fixing the source of the issue - i.e. society's ultra conservative view on gender expectations - or extending actual psychological help to those who need it, and instead they just encourage those people to mutilate themselves and foster a culture of absolute lunacy, where it's fair game to attempt to destroy anyone who disagrees with leftist views.
As a matter of fact they support those harms about as much as JK Rowling's percentage is from the sales. They didn't give it a 0/10 so they partially support real world harms. Jokes on them.
Exactly. I was ambivalent/leaning towards the general liberal (not leftist) consensus on this nonsense until I had a daughter. Now I'm always worried in the back of my mind that if she ends up wanting to wear her hair short or do something like take shop class that some wackadoo will try to get her to question her identity. I very much avoid talking about her interests now, her not liking Barbies and such.Well that's the problem isn't it? JK Rowling's so called, "Problematic" views are centered around her wanting biological women to have their own space in life. For a biological man who identifies as a woman can't undress in front of/or watch biological women in locker rooms. Biological men who identify as women to compete in sporting events against biological women. That shouldn't be controversial. 5 years ago the idea of things like that, putting biological women in those instances would be considered sexist. The power being taken away from biological women. She's a classic liberal feminist who isn't sharing new views. She hasn't changed.
Biology isn't controversial, it's science. That doesn't mean ADULTS can't live the lives they want to live. It doesn't mean anyone should stop an adult from making such decisions in their life. What it does mean is trans women and biological women are still different, as are trans men and biological men. You can't just ignore science to placate people's feelings. So grouping them together in places of competition or in uncomfortable places like locker rooms isn't right. If you do think it's right than we should get rid of divisions like that entirely.

Which is a reasonable concern. Someone wanting to identify as a totally different gender that can lead to having treatments done to them is a massive step and when you hear people saying, " well my 4 year old is trans...." then it becomes clear it's not being treated as a massive deicision. It's a legitimate concern particularly when some schools try to hide this stuff from the parents.Exactly. "Straight"you do if the conversation is about gender issues. Obviously. It's not going to hurt you.

JK Rowling made the mistake of thinking we still lived in a reasonable society where people can disagree and talk about things as adults. That society hasn’t existed for a while now. I think she figured it out though which has if anything hardened and radicalized her, and it has for many others as well. The constant attacks on her certainly have not made her change her POV to that of the attackers. And, you know, that sort of situation is why people who advocated for free speech do so. It’s also the sort of situation that people warned would happen when people realized they could use tech companies to advocate for censorship and cancellation.Which is a reasonable concern. It's almost as if adults in the country stopped being adults all of a sudden and let the kids take the rein.
The only reason people attack JK Rowling so heavily is because no one wants discussions of these topics to happen. When you don't have a solid argument the best thing you can do is attack the opposition or BAN to prevent conversation from happening. People should argue, discuss, debate, and disagree. It's important for a society to be able to test peoples views and see how strong they are when held to scrutiny.
JK Rowling wrote a pretty in-depth blog about her views. Even if you disagree with her views, playing a video game based on something you loved growing up doesn't make you a bad person. God forbid people find joy in life. It's the people who shame you that are the bad people. They'd never live by their standards but they put their standards on you.
Anyways, read the JK blog for yourselves -

I personally can't stand Jim Sterling's content.
Oh wow, that's quite the decline, I wonder if people got tired of his shtick?Looks like he peaked at 928k subscribers in Oct 2020. Since then it's been a gradual decline.
I have never watched him but I took a peak out of curiosity and all his most popular videos are from 5-7 years ago, so yeah. Fair to say his audience is going down the toilet. He used to be cool on Destructoid. Like 2007ish. He was one of the few people that wouldn't blindly shit on Dynasty Warriors games at the time.
I only saw a small number of his videos and even I got tired of it. It was silly too. And this was before his whole trans change.Oh wow, that's quite the decline, I wonder if people got tired of his shtick?

I just don’t understand the level of anger they have for her, for simply stating a scientific fact, correct?
The amount of times these people use the word problematic drives me fucking nuts. It's a shame Resetera banned discussion of the game as it would have been very entertaining, but this thread on a UK forum is its own glorious shitshow:

These people are insane.
100% agree. Whatever happened to discourse? The "it is our way or no way" is pretty damning. Sites actively banning discussion of a videogame is worrisome. Debate would help out both sides, what are these places afraid of?The only reason people attack JK Rowling so heavily is because no one wants discussions of these topics to happen. I don't even care about western games anymore, but I bought HOGWARTS LEGACY just to support the wonderful person that is JK Rowling.
That person made me enjoy reading when I was a kid and I will be forever grateful. God bless her.
