Xbox Fitness - Getting GAF off its butt

I had to take a couple of days off due to my abs being so damn sore from one of the workouts. Gonna eat breakfast, rest my tummy, and then workout!

I wish there was a way to sort the videos so I could filter all the ones that don't need any special equipment or weights. If there is a way and I missed it, please let me know!
This! A filter by equips would be great.

I have a question about the "first year free" Is it the first year since downloading/activating the title or is it the first year from release? I wont be able to really do this until i move the box into a room with more space

Free until the end of 2014.

Just added myself to the list, since I did my first session last night (2 x 10 minutes) and enjoyed it.

Looking for more people to compete against, since that gives me some additional incentive to do at least one of these each day. I'm also so glad that the Kinect isn't locked to the TV, so I can angle it to the side, negating me from moving my heavy-ass coffee table.

How big is the library of videos in the States? In Canada there is only a single Insanity and P90x vid on the system.
I had hoped that this would be the complete library of Insanity. My wife is currently dojng the insanity program and it would be easier if the vids were just available on the system.

I was interested in this until I heard how hard the workouts are. No beginner stuff from what I understand?

Do what you can, don't expect to be perfect out the gate. You have a lot of time and room for improvement. Start with the 10 minute ones and work your way up

I'm incredibly out of shape and have been able to get through the 10-minute workouts that focus specifically on things like cardio, abs, or lower body. You'll be really sore afterwards, but you should be able to get through it. Even if you can't do the whole 10 minutes, you can still build yourself up to where you can. After a little while of doing this I'll move up to the longer stuff.

My legs are super sore today. Damn these stairs!

Edit: Also, I need more people to compete with/send "Cheers" to. Add me!: CharlesARatliff

I'm not out of shape really. I'm a mailman with a walking route. The insanity workout has a warning from what I understand that says basically be in shape or risk death from what I've heard. Lol. I just want to start on a routine that's not that harsh. I'll check out the 10 minute workouts. That's what the title is?

Beachbody 10 minute workouts, can't miss em =)

Tomorrow! Another Mossa's Power training! Gotta finish it withoul dizzle

lol

Another Mossa Power Training to the Xbox Fitness gym card!

is there any other full body power program available?

I've started Bodypump at the gym with my sister shortly after XB1 came out and now I'm sad that most of my available workout time isn't with Xbox Fitness. Gonna try to hop on this weekend since I've only done a single 10 Minute Solution (and got four achievements, whooo!)

Might do Brazilian Butt Lift lol

Tbh I think the Xbox is a good supplementary to more traditional workout methods, I managed to get to 5 stars start in a chair not moving for one of the workouts so my faith in the tracking dropped.

Does anyone besides me get an "Internet Connection Error" when trying to use Xbox Fitness?

Everything else on Xbox Live works with no problems but I literally get this error like 80% of the time when trying to use Xbox Fitness.

Really enjoying Xbox fitness and need more people to compare and compete with. Add me if you want just let me know you are a gaffer.

I'm in.. Added myself to the spreadsheet.

I did 1 session earlier in the week and it kicked my ass, so this should be fun.....

Alright, going to start using this finally in the morning. Any tips for the best routines starting out? So many to choose from. Currently I run two miles in the morning and then do the elliptical at night, plus push-ups, squats and pull-ups as a general routine. Do have a set of weights (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 15, and 20) that were received recently for the routines which use them.

Haven't done a routine since my first one due to pancreatitis. I have been feeling... less than stellar. :(

I did one of the ten minute Beach Body workouts, think it was cardio before and it rocked me hard.

everytime I pause the exercise and try to get back. To counter it I forward or rewind any segment.

I get it occasionally. I got one today when doing an ab workout. Super annoying!

Also, for anyone who is out of shape and wants to do multiple 10-minute workouts in a session, don't start with the Six Pack Ab Attack one...

Getting better every time!

Breaking my Average Fitness Points.

Did already 5 complete trainings, just failed to finish one, hurray!

Recommend:
Mossa Power Training 1 & 2
Beachbody 10 Minute Fullbody

Come at me FitnessGaf, gt: oVerde

Using barbells with 26kg overall, and 20kg on "small muscles" exercises.

I started using XBOX Fitness this week. I decided to buy the Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30.
Day one was ~35k
Day five was ~56k

For my age range 36-45 I'm about 12k over so far but the first day is killing my average so I'm 1k under as an average.

The issues I've run into so far have been mostly minor:
Internet Connection (this is actually infuriating - so not minor - in the middle of a workout and makes me wish we could download the titles). On the positive side I only had this issue on the first day. Not sure if anything changed on their end or if finally getting my NAT to Open has helped at all but it could all be coincidental.

Red Line - I wasn't sure what this was the first time it occurred but once I saw my Fitness Points stop calculating I figured it meant I was too close so if I ever see it appear I take a 1/2 step back. As an aside, having had the first Kinect (and loving it), I'm actually pretty amazed by just how close my full body fits into frame (I'm 5'8")

Floor work - this has only occurred once in the five days since I've started but Kinect didn't see me at all for one of the exercises.

"Cheating" - I haven't been able to cheat the Kinect unlike what was mentioned above, I actually tried sitting on my couch and doing some butterflys but Kinect wasn't having any of it and the big 0 for fitness points made me hang my head in shame.

Current weight: 160lbs
Waist: 30"
Goal Weight/Waist: 135lbs/28" (I went into the Navy ages ago at 126lbs and was 146lbs after boot camp; I'm a veteran now)
Weights: I have some PowerBlock SportBlock I'm using either 3's or 6's for my weights for now and I'm not ashamed. I have numerous combat injuries in arms and shoulders and after trying 12lbs on day 1...I knew I needed to drop down.

As far as diet, I'm a dietary vegan. I both know how and love to cook so I'm hopeful to knock off these pounds rapidly. Other tidbit, in December of 2011 I weighed in at ~206lbs and lost 20.1lbs by Feb became vegan in Mar 2012 and dropped another 40. Then the divorce stress (this actually started in Feb 2012) and poor eating kicked in and I'm at my current weight. Positive I'll get to my goal, soonest!

Friend me follow me whatever it is we do now...

Been using xbox fitness quite a lot since launch; it's become my main workout, and i'm just using the Mossa fight training.

Anyway, there was a ~300mb patch i downloaded yesterday, after which my scores were killed because the system just didn't score me at all for a couple of the tracks, even though kinect was tracking me just fine.

Also, i haven't gotten the heart rate tracker to work at all.

Anybody else experiencing lag on Xbox fitness? It's so weird because every other streaming application works flawlessly.

I finally figured out why I've been having issues but not sure if it's related to yours. I have the Arris TG862G router from Comcast that has issues with connectivity with some apps/games.

Have a question on Xbox Fitness, I know it has some of the workouts for free, but can you purchase the full workouts through it? I ask because I was planning on buying a new Beachbody workout when I'm done with Insanity and it'd make a lot of sense if I could just get it through the Xbox Fitness interface with all the tracking features it has. I'm buying an Xbox in a couple of days.

Yes, you can buy full programs, is there a specific Beachbody one you are looking for? I've been plenty occupied with the free ones so haven't looked at everything that is available off purchase, but there is a fair amount available.

I think I'll add myself to the list too. I don't think anybody on my friend's list is using it so I haven't seen any challenges from friends, not really sure how that works.

I really haven't decided what I'm going to do post Insanity, I'm thinking Asylum or a P90X/Insanity hybrid. Any idea how accurate the Kinect heart rate stuff is?

Never had it work, I'm going on a two week Xbox fitness overkill in just over a week as I have the house to myself and I'm not at work so will try to get it working abd compare to my Garmin hrm

Tested against my garmin HRM , obviously this is my first time comparing but resting HR was 7bpm higher on Kinect which isn't bad when you can see those variations in devices you hold. After my workout the Kinect registered 10bpm lower than the Garmin, again still fairly accurate for a camera, hope that helps
