Good on you guys for doing this.
I love his generic PS3 fan name. The perfect cover-up!
This thread reminds me of this one:

I wonder what the ratio of simply selfish 'as long as I get mine' posters and viral marketers and conflicts of interests is in this thread.
I also I'm curious how long proelite is going to have his 'tldr' reply go unnoticed by the higher powers on gaf.
Steam has this thing called 'Steamworks', which allows publishers to force buyers of physical media to only use it through Steam.
Nope, he merely expressed his opinion that he's not affected by it, therefore he won't go out of his way to support this "cause".what's amazing is that just by posting and contributing to this thread you became a part of it.

I really wonder how are they gonna pull this off in the Asian markets.. (Japan, Singapore, Korea, etc)...
and for Europe, how are they gonna advertise the console without putting a long list of disclaimers
e.g. internet required, used games etc
We should all be ashamed. Petrol prices are raising all around the world, yet we still drive our cars every day. Fuck us. We're a part of the problem.
I know I'm getting the Nextbox. I'm tempted to drop cash on the next playstation, too.
Xbox has a community that i've stood with for ~10 years.
Xbox continues to supply me with games that I enjoy.
Seeing as though I legitimately know people who make cash off of moded xboxes, pirated games, and all that shit... I see why they're looking to daily checks. I'm not mad about this.
Yes, I'm one of those squares that scoffs at illegal downloads of music, movies, and games. So in all seriousness, this shit doesn't bother me.
I'm sorry that I'm a part of the problem guys, but i'm not going to just say 'fuck it' when things aren't going to affect me in the ways that you seem to be claiming.
I've traded in many a game to try and afford new ones. I've lent games to others in hopes they'd enjoy halo.
Now I'm old enough to support my 1 game per quarter quota, and i'm stoked on a system with more power and more features.
Japan has an incredible used market. I'm really curious to see how they react.
i bet they won't buy the xbox!
Haha, when we started predicting the long term effects people scoffed and shot us down. But if we could have predicted the long term effects of burning fossil fuels on a massive scale would we have buckled down and accepted it or rode bikes for a couple years while someone thought of something more preferable?
I will agree to disagree though, I'm sure there will be great games shown off for X1 at E3.
They wouldn't have anyhow, but I'm curious to see how they would react to the PS4 if they follow suit.
Dude,THEY'RE TREATING PHYSICAL GAMES AS DIGITAL GAMES!!!!!!
We should not have these restrictions on retail products, period!
i bet they won't buy the xbox!
this is actually a really interesting question though
Has anyone pointed out that some of those bullet points are incorrect yet?
The disc is there to satisfy the retail market.
Xbox One is 100% digital. When you purchase and insert the disc it gives you a digital pass, which allows you to play from anywhere as long as you are logged in. At that point you could throw it in the garbage for all they care. Someone correct me if im wrong about this.

GAF has jumped the Shark
Yeah...until the HDD is 50TB or something. blu-ray discs have a huge capacity. I'd assume only 4-5 games installed at once is possible.
That's probably not true in practice. So few games fill a fraction of the capacity of the disc.
No doubt. Akihabara is like the anti-GameStop. Games are clean, scratch free, and are in generally immaculate condition. I bring an extra suitcase for game shopping every time I visit!

Literally every post in your history is about xbone and defending microsoft.

Still though, you don't want to get rid of your discs ever unless they let you download the games tied to your account for free, although I doubt that happening since they can charge for GoD versions.

Could you imagine a world where MS does exactly what Steam is doing? A world where people PRAISE MS?!
God helps us all...

Hey guys, I have no intention of buying this thing, but Im joining the fight. Going to broadcast this message and get word out.
Keep up the good fight guys!

Nah, people are too busy posting from their 56k connections to keep up with that.
Last thing I will say on the matter, all of this is an eventuality. Just because Sony is not doing this (heck we have no idea) right now, does not mean it wont happen in the future regardless of how Xbox One performs. Many of you in this very thread have expressed interest in the all digital future, well this is a by product of an all digital future. Steam has done this and they have great sales that keep people happy, we do not know if MS will follow the same model, however IF they do, then personally I cannot complain.
The only thing that I dont like out of this that stands out, is the 24 hour check that is required.
