XSeed working on 3 unannounced PC games ?

As much as I would like to believe at least one of those is a Trails game, it's likely not the case.

My guess is that Marvelous is pushing more of its library to PC. They're probably doing a package deal with whatever their third party house is porting. Since XSEED doesn't develop PC games (they only tweak PC ports that already exist with a sole heroic programmer) they're not in the business of porting, so... it's either existing PC titles, or ports from their parent company Marvelous. Those are fairly heavily limiting factors.

But do we even have numbers for Vita titles? Im sure Blood Drive and EDF2 didnt sell so hot either..yet they keep releasing the niche titles. Releasing more on PC couldnt hurt.

For games that already have a PC port, sure why not, for those who don't, yeah probably not unless Falcom does the porting, I don't believe Xseed has the manpower.

No, the ONLY reason SC sold less is because people didn't finish FC and it is a direct sequel.

170k people own FC
10% finished it (based on achievement stats)
17k people own SC

That is not a coincidence.

It's not a coincidence that people who finished FC bought SC at full price. But I can bet that at a cheaper price point, it won't be about who finished it or not.

They're obviously all unreleased/unlocalized games that they ported to pc in their free time on their own while no one was watching because it totally makes sense and it's not port begging at all.

Unless I was completely hit over the head I could have sworn they released something showing 80K or so sales on PS3+VITA combined. Unless it was someone being dumb and posting bullshit ******** numbers in which case disregard all of that nonsense.
That'd be a great number for 1 month of US sales, source if you can find it.

Yup. I've seen some comments that because it was $10 higher than they were expecting they opted not to buy SC :|

Even a game that is HUGE and has the most amazing localization ever like Trails SC had people complaining about its $30 pricetag.

People on Steam are cheap as hell. Almost any Vita game at $40 would get laughed at.

That's why late, cheap ports are a good way to squeeze some more money out of games that exhausted their original platform and make a localization less risky. But not more.

People generally like sales and will wait for them.

So the strategy for selling PC games should be to sell them really cheap to people who don't intend to play them? What kind of business is that?

Yeah, exactly my point.

Based on recent trailers, I doubt the company's position has changed from the one described in this Destructoid interview:

That conversation more reads as them trying to gauge how much they'd have to censor a game to avoid being AO. Considering just before that statement Berry said that Senran Kagura Burst and Shinovi Versus exceeded their expectations and they're willing to help it grow. That said, there's nothing to worry about in Uppers and Valkyrie Drive doesn't seem to be worse than Senran...

"really cheap" I never said that. I said that a 30 dollars price point can seem expensive for a lot of people who could've been tempted, because of production values.

VD is "worse" than SK.
Not worried about Uppers though.

Yeah definately. I'm thinking of games that have already been released/already have a pc version. Probably more Marvelous games, or maybe older Falcom titles.

Considering nearly all of those who actually finished FC bought SC at full price, I'd say XSeeds pricing decision was correct.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
Come to think of it, didn't XSEED hint at Ys: Memories of Celceta hitting PC at some point? This could be that. Possibly. That game would be a lot better without the 25fps frame rate.

I never said it was a bad decision, considering it likely made a fine revenue and can only sell more.

Anything lower than $30 is "really cheap" for Trails SC

You took as an exemple as the selling price in Japan, let's make it clear right now: Trails will never sell as much in West.

No. That was gaming journalism jumping to conclusions based on a "good morning" tweet from XSEED.

Oh really? The anime obviously is, but the game didn't seem that bad based off of gameplay trailers and stuff. Oh well I guess.

No, it's not. EV is way more softporn than VD (game).

The problem is that the game is too linked to the anime. Not worth the time for them when they already have the SK IP working in the west and without that reputation.

Why is a thread talking about Xseed having 3 unlabeled PC games in the DB mostly about the vita?

Because people either don't have a Vita but want the games

or

Are worried the games won't be localized as Vita exclusives

And Marvelous JP is pretty much only making Vita exclusives

My only wish is that in the future XSEED/Marvelous develop some farming sim that drops on PC as well. For now emulation will do I guess.

Because some delusional fanboys are asking for PC ports of games that don't have any.

I am not sure whether I understood your post right, but do you mean that PC fanboys want PC ports of game, which dont have an official PC release?

If so, that never was a problem. XSeed ported Akibas Trip and will port Senran Kagura afaik.

That's like asking why console (or PC) warriors exist

And I still dont understand why an adult would be that childish.

Just a small correction, XSEED had nothing to do with the Akiba's Trip port. They just helped to get the game on Steam.

Acquire ported Akiba and some other hired company will port SK. XSEED only has a single programmer

I see. But couldnt XSeed/dev just do it like that again?

Acquire made the port not Xseed.
Beaten, Xseed relies on someone else doing the port, in the case of all the begging, that falls to Falcom or someone else on Falcom's behest.

FWIW, when people argue sales of Kiseki games, the TitS Evolution games opened at something like 10k copies in Japan, and they still keep churning these (and their crapload of voice acting). They're full price Vita games, but still that always surprises me.

I have a Vita but still want the games on PC :p
Yeah, best of both worlds for me. The more the merrier.
I enjoy and seriously value the portability, but I also like having robust, definitive versions that I'll still have years later, they're complimentary for my needs. (Assuming the port isn't too awful)
