Yeah, sorry, I haven't been part of the Palutena leak discussion before today, it's interesting to talk about. And like I said earlier, whether the leak is fake or not, I think she's in the game.

Oh no absolutely, it IS interesting to talk about! Talking about it analytically is perfectly great. Yeah it was huge a couple months ago. It made Palutena start showing up on basically from ~35% of rosters to a good ~80% I think.

Some people are so dead set on it being fake though. It's weird to see some of things they try to pull from thin air.

Why do these seem so out of place and random? Do these even hint to anything from Fire Emblem? They're cool, just seem.. pointless.

Not the same model. The AR model uses the in-game gallery model, which is different from the one in the leak.

The first one sort of reminds of the maps that are like dungeons/ ruins especially with the rubble in the background. The platforms are sort of like walls

What's random about them compared to the top three? I've fought amidst quite a few ruined structures in Fire Emblem games.

The gears are a little strange, but they aren't any more out-of place than those strange posing statues that are being imported from the Brawl Castle Siege stage. I can't for the life of me remember any Fire Emblem game with statues like those, so I don't know why they have become such a prominent part of Smash Bros. Fire Emblem stages.

Thinking about it, I guess the gears don't really seem out of place when we are talking about a Coliseum designed to use mechanisms to change terrain. It really is par for the course for arenas to have fancy stage gimmicks.

Heck, given the way the screens leaked to the Internet, maybe Sakurai himself did it. Sure gave discussion of the game a huge jolt of hype.

I thought the Moon would actually crash into the stage but he pulled off the moon gravity which is odd but i'm okay with it.

Honestly kinda surprised mine is faring as well as it is. I'm all but confident it's going to have some glaring inaccuracies before all's said and done (ignoring obvious misses like Villager and Wii Fit Trainer), but hell, I even guessed the Blue Shell and Racoon Leaf.

We'd seen Reset Bomb Forest before that. I think it might've been our first shot of Viridi in the background, but that's about it.

I remember there being two Kid Icarus screenshots released the same week as the Palutena leak. And they happened -after- the leak.

There have been a lot of good design choices revealed so far. It'd be hard to believe Sakurai would troll in such a way. The Waluigi reveal didn't tease him as a full fledged character.

I never really liked Great Bay. Thought it was the worst level in the game. It's super boring, and the stage hazards are a joke. Which is a shame cause there could have been some crazy potential with the moon crashing and all.

They aren't hazards though, which was actually a relief. Even if you're not playing in a tourney, having crap like that spike in Brawl's scrolling DK level is annoying.

Oh, wait, I see now. Double-checked the Miiverse from that timeframe - and while Reset Bomb Forest had definitely been shown before, Palutena's Temple hadn't, and that was revealed within a week from the leak. Right, then.

Viridi was also explicitly confirmed for the first time that week, I believe the next day.

I think that part of the problem with Brawl, that people were disappointed with the most, was the fact that the "secret" unlockable characters were mostly all veterans. Most of the newcomers were already revealed.

I hope that changes with Smash Bros 4. I know it'll probably get spoiled for me anyway, but I wish I could go back to seeing newcomers as the secret characters and freaking out about them as I'm unlocking them one at a time.

Great Bay is absolutely my favorite Melee stage. I am alone.

That bothered me as well when it was revealed what his ability was. I mean, he could've had a nerfed version of Olimar's Smash where the moon falls onto a small spot of the stage, but nope, give him something that doesn't even make sense to his character or abilities
