I'm curious as to when this will come out; it'd be awesome if it was 2015, but 2016 seems more likely in my opinion. Hopefully the game isn't as buggy as Skyrim was on PS3.

In terms of story, quests and characters yeah. But it wouldn't take much for the gameplay to be better than TW3
FO3 was over a year. The first trailer was in June 2007, and the game released in October 2008.
New Vegas was over a year as well. Announced in April 2009, released October 2010.
There is some hope though. Notice how they all release in October? We could either be looking at October 2015 if we're lucky, but then again it could be 2016 because, as we can see by FO3 and FNV, they were released in October the next year.

Even without mods, on Windows you have access to console commands that often can help you progress beyond broken quests etc. So that's always a benefit if you can run it, and it also helps if you should come across corrupted save files, it's not as severe as if you were playing on console. I remember when I bought Fallout 3 for Xbox 360 and the game kept crashing the console, it wasn't fun.

Yes, but Todd or Pete said(and did) he wanted to stop that with Skyrim. Skyrim had an 11 month gap.
I believe Pete Hines or Todd Howard has said recently that they want to change that and make it less time between reveal and release.

I have always loves BGS' output so it's fair to say I'm pretty hyped, regardless of the platforms or engine. I do hope they've learned some good Fallout level design and combat lessons from FNV though, I definitely felt it was superior in those areas even though I already really liked FO3.

I'll wait and see I guess. Maybe they pull off some improbable feat and the old gen version doesnt hold back the next gen version. As unlikely as that is. But we all know that wont happen. I'm not really interested in a Bethesda game made on old tech.
