Playstation Plus Thread 2: How do I hold all these games?

Not sure if serious, here...

The first game was a blast and the second one perfected the formula... the other 4 were all completely unnecessary (never played GoS or Ascension, but CoO and 3 were kinda just there and brought absolutely nothing new to the table! Completely pointless milking! I guess 3 was kind of necessary to tie up the story, but the rest was just completely unnecesary...).

Well, 3 justifies it's existence through its amazingly beautiful visuals as well as the amazing Titan sequences. While none of the other games do much to differentiate themselves from a gameplay standpoint, all of them deliver epic vistas and larger than life scenarios that make them worth a playthrough. To me, the God of War games' main attraction is the spectacle on display rather than the mechanics of it anyway, and in that respect they're all worth playing.

So has anyone tried Payday 2 yet? 9 out of 10 matches in this game end in 'connection to host has been lost' for me and it's really starting to annoy me. Anyone have this issue or is it on my end?

Sorry it took me a while to get back to this.

Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta were very good, in my opinion. Yes, I think we can all agree that God of War II was generally the best of this series. However, I'd put the handheld versions above God of War, if we can reasonably put aside the good aura it has because it was the first and the most fresh at the time it was released. On its merits, I found both handheld games to be more fun, and certainly quite the technical marvels.

I'm replaying God of War III at the moment, and I'm still not convinced that it's as good as I remembered it. Yes, it's very pretty, but it does have some rough edges that simply shouldn't be there. And after a while the art style begins to seem too starkly lit and plastic.

Anyway, Ascension did not give me any of that sense of wonder that I've felt from the other games. Yes, big environments and over-the-top action -- but there is some spirit missing that I can't quite identify. It simply didn't resonate with me.

But, after five previous games, I'm simply not the same person that first booted up that God of War Hydra Demo disc and was completely smitten...

Yes. Such things can still be enjoyable.

See also: Dumb fun movies.

I guess for some people. God of War HD was the worst game I somehow managed to force myself to finish last year. I don't understand how that could have possibly been considered GotY material back in the day. I don't find dumb action movies appealing in any way either, so I guess it's not that surprising.

I only played Chains of Olympus, out of the portable ones. It was a good game, but I really didn't feel anything justified it's existence, it felt like a team working with no new ideas on a formula that had already peaked. A competent but unremarkable effort. Same with 3.

I'd give Ghost Of Sparta a go if it popped up on Plus (which it should, but won't), but CoO and 3 haven't motivated me enough to play it otherwise... Your description of Ascension matches how I felt while playing CoO and 3.

Chains of Olympus had the best alt. weapon in the series, which SSM copied into God of War 3. So fun.

All of the God of War games are stupid and shallow.

No. The first one was great (Gameplay, puzzles and Story were great overall). Everything that came after the first one was just stupid shit.

The story in 2 was just ugh. And the plot-twist was abysmal. And we should better not talk about the third one.

Doesn't even make sense. The first game has the worst gameplay of the series. I'll give you story as they just completely jumped the shark after that but all the sequels did was make the game actually fun to play.

All 26 hours. Multiple times.
I can only advise you people to play gow games on hard or hardest difficulty.
Thats where the games really start to show how good they are. Most of the gameplay mechanixs are swimply wasted on normal difficulty because you're just not forced to use even half of them.
On harder modes its a completly different game.

I had more fun with the first one. Probably because of the puzzles.

Edit: Now i remember that Wall in Hell in GOW1... never again.

I downloaded BioShock Infinite but when I go to install it every time it says : an error occurred during the install operation (80029564).

Anyone have any clue on what to do?

From the OP:

Free up some space and try again

Error 80029564 doesn't seem to have anything to do with free space.

For some reason PSN doesn't always process something correctly, so even if the download looks good it will fail to install.

There is no real way to recover from a 80029564 aside from deleting the install file, re-downloading and hoping the new file is good.

It can be annoying.

Thanks for the response, I've done that 4 times now...any ideas? I really wanna play infinite lol

By the way, I'm doing all this with the Full Game Trial. I've done it before where I downloaded the trial as a pre-load, then "purchased" the game for free once it marked as free for PS+. I'm going to check if this still works tomorrow..

A bit late, but here is the update on that:
After the store update, starting the expired Full Game Trial while logged on to PSN automatically updated the trial to the full version. But, the store listing for the full version in PlayStation Store still showed it as not purchased. I had to "purchase" the full version for free to get it on my download list.

In other words: Full Game Trials can be used for pre-loading PS3 Full Games, but you will still have to grab the full version for free from PlayStation Store to keep the rights for it after it is rotated out of the free section.

I would bang a hot farmer!
For tomorrow:

quick question guys, is this playable on a Vita?

https://store.sonyentertainmentnetw...ndle/cid=EP0102-NPEJ00136_00-B000000000000377

It says PS3, but I thought all PSOne games were playable on Vita, plus the store page for each individual game from the collection here does indicate that they are playable on Vita.

Any help?

I believe they are since my friend has got all three games on his Vita. His are the US versions though and I'm not sure if he downloaded it directly to his Vita or used a PS3.

Yeah, they'll work on your Vita, though only in PSP mode. PSP has a PS1 emulator included, remember?

Otherwise, this doesn't look too bad as a bundle. Might bite myself.

well, enjoy killzone shadow fall as a PS+ title guys

about to buy the digital copy now and i have bad luck so it will be on PS+ before E3 :p

but for $15 and with a code expiring soon, its either this or lego marvel and thats been on sale a lot lately, but it is $5 after coupon

So it probably isn't a good sign that SCEE hasn't announced the PS Plus stuff, and it's meant to update next Wednesday.

They said on the blog yesterday that they'll be announcing it next week, probably thursday. I reckon they're changing the week we get the games. Maybe so that we'll be getting PS3, Vita and PS4 content on the same day from now on?

Playstation Plus has been a little lame lately. Metro, Payday2, Remember Me.... That's 3 games in a row I really didn't enjoy.
Hope they get a good one in next.

Had a revelation last night that PS+ is basically like a gym membership for gamers. I don't play any of this shit. Some of it I want to. But I'm paying for a service I rarely use. I'll probably regret it when it expires. Just not enough time and motivation.

The way I see it, there's plenty of people out there that do enjoy them. Maybe. For the price, I can't complain, even if I end up not really playing anything this month, though I'll probably check out Metro at least. Can't please everyone!

Funny you say that. I feel the same but you know what the last PS3 Plus game I loved was? Remember Me. We got it four months ago in EU. Fucking loved it. I've disliked pretty much everything since. Except Sonic Racing Transformed Vita.

But unlike Gym membership, sony does not charge you up the butthole for its service. I used to pay $100+ every month for gym and one day sat down and realized that I am a dumbass. Decided to cut the membership but guess what. They dont do it over the phone or on weekends. If you want to cut gym membership, you must be at the physical location between 9 and 5 on weekdays. Wasted another few 100 over this. Then when I finally got it to cut, my bank account was still being debited the month after. UGH. Worst gym in the world. Sorry wanted to rant.

Interesting. Do we get it every five weeks now?

Just this month. Recently we had the PS3+Vita Update a week before the end of the month which actually confused some people.

If this is actually true we will start getting the monthly update on the 1st Wednesday of every month like it was at the start of PS+ and exactly like PS4 PS+ games were released.
