About that....it's gonna get the nerf bat, or at the very least they're going to fix the dps bug with it. Right now it's doing the full DPS (330% or whatever it is) when the orb is traveling and then it does it again when it bursts at the end, so it's basically doing double it's intended damage at the moment. It's been known about for a while, shocked they haven't hotfixed it.

Oh, no doubt it's gonna get fixed. But it's just too amazing at the moment :p

The bonus XP event is nice right now. Definitely makes it feel really rewarding to wander and kill. Although I noticed mob density to be not what I anticipated. Also found 3 legendaries in a matter of like, 10 minutes. Nothing fantastic, but cool to see.

Firebats on my WD doesn't feel as viable as it did before. I wonder if it's because they changed runes or something? And also, I couldn't remember my hotkey setup for the life of me. I'll have to keep toying with that a bit.

Anyone playing a WD got any thoughts on new build options?

E: Also, if anyone is willing to help me power level my alts, that would be really cool...I want to get my wiz up for sure. My barb is only like 40 or so, and I haven't even rolled a Monk yet. But I'd like a full roster of 60's by RoS to have access to them and give them a try. How long does it take now?

Got a Legendary plan and not knowing what it was I taught it to my blacksmith. Found out afterwards it was worth 16 million :|

It's ok though, got me a good weapon :D

Side note for crafting, if you want "common scrap" or w/e it is, best place as far as I know is halls of agony. "Torture tools" almost always drop a white weapon.

Your WD’s gear is really going to define your spec and also what you want to do. Firebats is still good at early dps levels imo if you have a nice 2h. You want the rune that reduces the channeling cost. If you want to take a look at my profile the build im using is mainly for T6 paragon grinding. Luxury#1795

Whats the benefit of a blacksmith plan anyway? All I can think of is that you could craft the same legendary over and over again if your blacksmith has learned it from the plan. But with legendaries being account bound I can't really see the benefit to this.

Why not just drop the legendary itself instead of the plan?

Its a way to turn legendaries and other things that aren't useful to you into something that possibly is, and give you multiple chances at the affix rolls

Yeah, looks like I just need to tweak out my gear more. I have a pretty solid Skorn. My big thing is trying to figure out when to break my Zuni set. It's really tough since the 4-piece is so great.

Carlos - that's my WD. I'm going to toy with the build a bit and see how I like it. I need more life, too. So...

Oh, so you can just keep making them until you get the stats you're looking for. Makes sense I suppose. I got one or two of them the other night and I just shelved them. I'll have a look at them later

Nice the 4pc + fetish passive + that helm that makes them mimic your casts is crazy.

@Yoshi & Wizards with the 4pc – Did you guys feel the dps loss for the set is worth the bonuses? Im wearing the helm + chest right now which are upgrades but if I equip the new neck and belt I drop from 390k to 320k dps but my toughness goes from 720k to 1.1m. I don’t really need the toughness as almost always someone is tanking T6 and even alone im almost always fine.

I just did a guy getting very pissed off at the game. And with reason!

The guy dropped a legendary shield and asked if someone wanted that, just after we did start the fight against Diablo. I answered that I wasnt sure if I would use that, but if he did not wanted I would like to get that.

But then, at the end of the fight I had to answer my cellphone (but still playing), and at the end countdown I was talking with my gf and not paying attention to what was happening, until at the final 10 seconds I saw that the guy dropped the shield and was asking me to get it!

I tried to get the shield, but my inventory was full, I droped an item and then the countown finished. Ended the game... the credits started to spin! I wasnt able to get that on time!

The guy got pissed!! I felt bad about it! =/
However, if I was him I would get my leg. back when the countdown reached 5 without thinking twice. But he was good intended.

Guys, maybe you can help solve a mystery for me.

This is my "purple rain" Wizard. He's currently receiving:

+31% Arcane damage from funky hat and iced-out bracers.
+13% Arcane Torrent damage from Air Jordan XI's.

...but honestly, I'm not seeing any meaningful uptick in numbers from when I have my Trimuvirate (+10% damage over Tal Rasha's via Int, and another +6% arcane damage) and Ice Climbers (+1.4% damage). In fact, I haven't tested yet, but I'm pretty sure the highest crit numbers have decreased, despite what I believed to be a 27% jump in Arcane Torrent damage dealing. I believe my highest crits before making some of these changes were in the 3.2m range. Now I'm topping out at something more like 2.6m.

Am I misunderstanding how these damage affixes apply?

(ignore character's current damage; Radiant star gems sold and will be replaced by cheaper ones in preparation for RoS)

I have been melting things with this setup.

DrLush

My Spirit Barrage and Zombie Bahrs are my go-to, both dealing excessive amounts of damage. My Soul Harvest increases my DPS, but also crits 1mil+ when it goes off. Spirit Walk is my "Oh shit!" button, giving me health when I go on the run. Hex is for crowd control and gives my friends a zerg focus, with the target receiving additional damage. And Fetish Army gives me pets that draw attention away from me.

Spirit Vessel is my "Oh, there was bad underneath me?!" get-out-of-jail free card. Rush of Essence gives me lots of mana to play with, after spamming Spirit Barrage it fuels my Zombie Bahrs. And Grave Injustice allows for me to fire off more skills as the huge packs in later Torment levels fall before me.

I am absolutely loving the patch! I can't wait to jump into the expansion...

I must've pumped in more hours in the past week then I ever had during D3 vanilla! And I feel like I'm swimming in legendaries, swimming I say!

Oh I know that feeling. I found a legendary Set plan and I was so excited for seeing a green that I taught it to my blacksmith right away. Turns out it was 15mil at the auctions! Luckily it turns out set plans unlocks the entire set for crafting so I was able to get my first full set bonus right away! Demon's Skin, I think it was called.

Another good thing about finding low level legendary plans is that the item won't cost any brimstone to craft but it always turns into brimstone when salvaged.

My profile is showing what I use to speed farm T1 stuff (mainly A3 Keep):

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Metzger-1974/hero/33802567

It's a lot easier to let go of legacy Zunimassa's when you don't really need mana! I don't think it's worth going full Physical or Fire with your elemental bonuses, the damage is pretty evenly split and the Wrathful Protector really scales like a monster so he's worth pushing up.

With the gear I have access to right now it's the fastest setup I've put together. Would dump the Zuni stuff if I came across a Mask of Jeram, which would make the fetishes and Protector ridiculous. Same for a Tasker and Theo in the glove slot, though it'd suck if it doesn't roll crit. At some point I'd like to swap the belt for one with a Physical bonus, but it's tough as that's a pretty excellent Witching Hour for WD. Maybe a Cord of the Sherma since that rolls a 5 yard pick up bonus and the proc would go off nuts with VB.

as far as I am aware, the item bonuses to arcane/skill damage are multiplicative

Yeah you heard me

Dark Souls 2, Infamous 2, MGS5 and all that shit?

It's all crap

2.0 for life

Conversely, I reckon I'm done until the expansion hits. Running the campaign is boring me to tears.

That and I don't want to put too much effort into farming level 60 stuff

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?
Cross-posting from the gamingside thread -

So one of these was given to me because the guy didn't need it, and the other was a sweet looking monk belt.... that dropped on my wizard.

1. How do they look. 2. I haven't played a monk since launch. I have no clue what the hell I'm doing on it anymore. Any tips/good builds/etc.?

The Thundergod's Vigor is a DREAM belt of a Monk that is stacking Lightning resistances and +Lightning damage for their build (which is basically my build and I get pissed when I see other people showing off their Thundergod! j/k).

Shenlong's alright, I would take it with a socket though (not sure if it can roll it) and a second Shenlong also with socket.

Thanks for the WD tips guys. I'm going to be making some sweeping changes to Carlos tonight.

I go for a little bit more of an aoe cc focus while retaining decent damage. I have a legendary belt that causes locust swam to slow but previous to that I was using soul harvest with the slow...

The build is locust swam, haunt, acid cloud, mass confusion, and confusion frogs, with the passive fetish spawns.

Run in drop soul harvest slow, locust and haunt, mass confusin if necessary, then spam frogs and acid cloud on the slowed /confuse enemies and your fetishes are doing work.

Trying to get all my chars to 60 before the bonus xp ends.

Reseted my Demon Hunter's quests.

Remembered Act 2 existed. Fuck. I really hate Kulle and his dungeons.

Oh shit. So I'm losing by taking so many of these.

I dunno its hard to say without scrutinizing your overall DPS lost vs the boost from the elemental damage boost. But its hard to lose DPS if you're using only Arcane torrent. It has a 573% base damage, so 573% x (1.44) = 825% weapon damage. Try testing the arcane damage boost with magic missile maybe?

Yea that's how its supposed to work. Someone even put the math up.

The damage from these elemental bonuses is very strong at least initially.

Man, playing as a Monk feels so slow now. I messed around a bit, my current Monk gear largely sucks (gave my existing set to a friend when the patch hit) but at 100k sheet DPS it's taking forever to kill stuff on Torment I. I'm practically invincible, but for example the amount of time it took to kill Diablo was completely ridiculous. Any Monks have any advice? My Monk is here, and again I know my gear is largely crap. I'm liking Crippling Wave, Dashing Strike, SW, and MoC. IS is maybe more useful in group play but not solo but I'm giving that a go. I've been kind of flip-flopping between LTK and Bells, the stun on the Bell is much longer but for some reason it doesn't feel like it's doing shit for damage. LTK does more, but smaller damage radius and stun. Pre-patch I was running cookie-cutter MP10 fine with ~150k DPS, so not sure why I seem to be having a hard time with Torment I. I do miss Cyclone and EP, but I'd have to almost completely change the build to throw those in there.

Those look pretty cool. Shame they are tied to a purchase I have no interest in. Kinda surprised they haven't put those sorts of things into the game as microtransactions. I'd probably pay a couple bucks for a neat backbanner.

Yup. Still calling it that at some point additional stash tabs, character slots, etc will all be available via microtransactions.

I tried them and to be honest...I didn't see any meaningful difference in the numbers flashing before my eyes at all. Everything seemed to be in the same general range with maybe a 100k difference at the top end.

edit, which appears to be about right based on my math. 149,075.25 with all of the arcane stuff equipped, to be exact. thanks for the help. Now I have to decide if getting that extra ~7% damage is worth losing the 75 all resist I'm getting from my Ice Climbers.

.

Exploding palm is our way to do damage. It's scales with monster HP. I dropped SW for it. I'm currently playing vac monk with stun bell.

Crippling wave, dashing strike, cyclone, EP, bell, MoC

I'll give that a go. I really feel like the Bell does crap damage now though for some reason, but the Stun rune on it is ridiculous.

So a Bul-Katho's Wedding Band (the ring that drains life from nearby enemies) dropped for my DH. Is there any reason to not just put it on my Monk? From the appearance of the effect, it only procs when enemies inside of 10 years...which runs counter to how my DH is played. If it can proc beyond that range, I'll leave it on her as it's a marginal upgrade over the ring it replaces, but if not I'll just move it over.
