ive used both controllers one after the other at a friends house the other day and though the pro controller is good it doesnt mold into your hand the way a gamecubes does, also superior triggers with the only down side being the sticks which can easily be remedied. Also im pretty sure they could fit the innards of a pro controller inside a game cubes. Though they most likely wont make a gamecube controller shell for wii u.

Not using a Gamecube shell defeats the entire purpose of it.

It won't happen. It's a pipe dream and the only thing you'd expect is a subpar Third Party Controller.

You still wouldn't be able to fit a conventional battery and all the other things needed for a wireless controller due to the dimensions of the GC Controller. Take a look at the bulge on the back of a GC controller compared to a Pro Controller. They'd need to change the design, which defeats the purpose of a GC Wii U Controller.

Though it is true that the GC molds better and gives more comfort room for the rest of your fingers, it's nothing that can't really be remedied through a few game sessions. Give yourself some time and you'll transition fine.

Hell if you compare buttons, the Pro Controller is Sanwa Denshi tier compared to other conventional controllers. Shorthopping and inputting commands is much easier and much more fluid in comparison. Analog placements are also superior due to ease of access of the C-Stick.

It might just be personal preference but honestly the Pro Controller is here to stay and it shouldn't have to be a factor as to whether or not you play the game. The faster we adapt, the better so that we don't have to hear continuous whining and complaints for a controller that worked best in a previous iteration of a franchise, one that plays significantly different.

Not calling you out, just putting my stance out there. What do you think of the Pro Controller anyway? I find it to be just fine and it works great. You can fast fall, short hop, crouch cancel, wavedash, anything due to how the buttons are.

I've had a Wii U Pro Controller since launch and love it! Very comfortable in my hands. And the battery life is insane! But I'm also the guy who stopped using the GC controller when the Wii Classic Controller came out lol. But man the Wii U Pro Controller is awesome. I use it for Wii U games and VC games.

Agreed on everything here

I'm honestly fine with just using a Pro Controller when Smash comes out. This isn't something to really worry about like last time with the Wiimote (which played decent). I played Smash just fine with an N64 when I was a kid. I'll never quite understand why people have such an attachment to the Gamecube controller for Smash Brothers.

Well i sir have never been more offended.

jks

I agree it will never happen I was just saying its feasible and a pro controller with the shell and triggers of a gamecube controller would be a lot better than a normal procontroller. I just dont understand how a wireless gamecube controller is impossible for wii u when the gamecube had a wave bird. As for what I think of the pro controller, its fine it just doesn't feel as good in my hands. Though it could just be that i haven't gotten used it as much.

.I wonder what will be announced...Hmmm...

an official first party GC controller for Wii U would be cool, with analog triggers and everything. It would work not only with Smash, but the inevitable Gamecube VC games.

If not, I'll be using this:

I've tried the Pro controller with Smash, it's not right. Gamecube controller or bust.

It's like trying to play a fighting game with anything but an arcade stick. Gross.

Interesting. I'm all for the Wii U Pro Controller (have it and love it, honestly I refuse to use any other controller on the Wii U), but if this GCN to Wii Remote adapter works, would the buttons map okay in the game, and would the L/R buttons work as they should?

I've seen numerous reviews saying that thing causes input lag.

Why would you eat all that input lag? Disgusting

If they change some of the controls around to fit the controllers its gonna be SAD

What's this? #TeamRidley calling out #TeamPalutena? Oh man, this pointless internet slap-fight will be sublime to watch.

sakurai praised my waifu returns

you all know what that means :^)

looks like we will just be going back and forth about this, so let's just end it here, we'll see what they announce, but I highly doubt Snake will be back.

The debate will never end. The game will come out and Snake fans will play it incessantly hoping that SOMEWHERE there is a play condition that will unlock him as a secret character.

I do expect a few character reveals, perhaps one new and maybe a few veteran (MewTwo please come back). Maybe a stage or two to go with the reveals.

Other stuff I expect to see include more info on the single player, 3DS character customisation, maybe street pass potential and maybe some online info.

I was hopeful Bayo 2 would make it out before smash but now I'm not so sure.
Excited for next week either way, both games are day 1 for me.

My post from other thread,

Strange thing happened to me this morning. I just woke up without any hype for Smash Direct, so I guess my conscience and body basically tell hype energies to fuck off until Tuesday Morning, I'm pretty sure.

I've been holding on to it for a Smash hype avatar project (that I may or may not work on for general SmashGAF closer to launch), but it comes from this guy's deviantArt.

He's pretty good.

I think it would be absolutely delicious for the reactions. But I would also permanently scar my 3DS screen where her face appeared on the roster...

Whoa! Hey, my man, respect the Goddess, yo.

Yep, still serious. Love Lightning. Hate all the stupid dialog in all the FFXIII games,
