I love Pit's voice in Uprising. He's incredibly upbeat and enthusiastic most of the game -- in keeping with the spirit of fun and adventure -- but he does know how to sound urgent or sad when the script calls for it.

Now Palutena... I can listen to that voice all day. (Which is funny, since she's the same person who voices Lightning in FFXIII, where she sounds so emotionless. Different script, I know.)

When Palutena tells Pit not to think naughty thoughts... <3

Agree with all of this. KIU voice acting in general is top tier I think.

Historically, Nintendo has never tried to soften the blow of a delay

They'll just casually announce a date later than people thought for the first time or hide it somewhere else

A delay would be surprising and disappointing, as I thought that getting Namco on board was to ensure a 2014 release.

I think it's very unlikely that the rumor is correct, though.

Can someone tell me if there's going to be a youtube stream link in advance? I've heard that's the only one that doesn't cut out like the Nintendo Directs always do.

my lord!

I cannot wait for this direct! Is it a 30 minute or hour direct? I have a class that starts at 4 pst tomorrow, so I should be able to catch most of it live!

You know what? I just got Kid Icarus a few days ago and I'm loving it.

but I guess my soul is just a dried up husk or whatever because the very first thing I did was

- boot up the game
- start up campaign
- "The people are celebrating the return of the goddess Palutena!" HOLD THE DAMN PHONE, GOOD LORD SON
- exit campaign
- options
- voice acting volume 0%
- top screen subtitles

I'm hoping that's not the case <_<;

Unless Nintendo is gonna throw us Bayonetta 2 or X before Smash. I'm tired of these silly droughts, I just picked up Donkey Kong the other day so I have that to tide me over (I need to beat the other games Wonderful 101 & Pikmin 3 still lol...)

Give up on this as a 2014 thing.

More likely, since the Wii U and 3DS versions DO count as the 4th and 5th iterations, there possibly IS a Smash 6. But I don't think it'll be what we traditionally think of as Smash.

And this is probably why Smash is getting a Direct.

Sakurai was probably running the numbers and realized, "Man, there's no way we can optimize the data in time to include the entire soundtrack of Tropical Freeze along with David Wise renditions of every theme to every other game ever... in time for 2014. We must delay!"

Come on, this is getting ridiculous.

First of all, Nintendo doesn't have to announce a possible delay until November and in 8 months a lot can happen, including overcoming whatever severe delays in development happened. Secondly, they won't do a special SSB Nintendo Direct specially to bring attention on a game that will be delayed. They announced DKC:TF delay as a side news in a bi-monthly Nintendo Direct.

Plus, SSB6 is obviously the QoL version.

My bet its the arcade version

Released on systems other than Nintendo manufactured ones. New initiative by Nintendo.

Down Special -- Use bidet while calling seldom-seen family from office

I am the only one asking where is the FIVE version of smash bros ?
The idea is the WiiU and 3DS versions would be counted separately -- one is 4, the other is 5. Maybe they refer to them that way for shorthand on the development side.

If you could pick one newcomer and veteran for tomorrow, who would it be?
For me: Palutena and Captain Falcon.
Chibi-Robo and Mewtwo or Snake

The only newcomer left that I'd really love to see in the game and two vets I want to return that I'm not sure will (though I am fairly confident about Snake)

My hopes:

Chrom replaces Ike
Lucina added for more female content
Shulk or the main character from X to bring hype for the release of X (kind of like how Raiden was in PSABR 3 months before MGR:R release) or both
Wonder Red
Bayonetta

Well a delay for that would be acceptable :p
<3 David Wise.

I don't think Super Smash Bros. U & 3DS are going to be delayed. It'll a be 2014 game, even if Iwata has to crack the whip himself!
Seriously though, hopefully the dev staff don't feel too pressured, I know Sakurai has had some wrist/ (elbow?) pain that has slowed him down, I would rather he took it easy and have enjoyable memories of the development rather than an association with pain.
