Going from 1st to 3rd person in an FPS game during movement based gameplay is bad bad clutch based game design.

It is disorienting, lazy, and does not look good.

Hmm. Well my thoughts can basically be summed up as "Yup, that's Borderlands made by the Halo guys," and I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing. It's certainly not some revolution in games as it was posited to be. The art style and the visuals were great, but I thought the music (what was that brass all about?) and voiceover kind of sucked: it felt very impersonal. They're trying to build a world here but I only got the impression the world is a thin wrapper for the gameplay rather than something that is integral to the experience.
