All of them are possible to catch and evolve if you have the DS games onward, yes.

Hell yes.

Poured over 300 hours between the three versions a decade ago. Tons of great memories catching the legendaries and completing the Pokedex.

I didn't play HeartGold/SoulSilver, but in GreenLeaf/FireRed the Pokemon selection was limited to the original game's for the main story, but afterwards it opens up new areas and new Pokemon from the other generations.

Clearly some people expected. You'd have to purposely ignore X and Y constantly talking about Hoenn and stuff related to it to think it wasn't coming this year.

Remember Firered And leaf Green? Those came out a year after Ruby and Sapphire. There is precedent.

Guys there hasn't been a third title game since 2008/2009. Of course there's no Z coming this year. They may even have completely gone the way of the dodo. Frankly, I'm fine with that if we get a pair of titles every year with a new adventure.

I dunno, the TCG usually explains those changes as the result of some new gimmick that appears in a given set/block. If they're on the covers, there's a pretty good chance of them being mega-evos or formes.

Ah, right. It's good to see worldwide release being a thing again. It sounds like we won't have to wait months after Japanese release anymore (at least for main/semi-main/remakes).

Hoenn was by far my favourite generation, but I've never really felt any pressing desire to visit it in a remake. Curiously enough, it sounds like this might not actually be a straight remake, so... WHOOO UNEXPECTED HYPE BOMB YEAH and now I must go to bed and sleep.

I honestly thought this was a troll when I saw someone post it on Steam. WTF. I'll probably buy but I still want sprites back, the 3D models are so lifeless.

I hope Experience Share is still there so I can train 20+ Pokemon in the time it takes for most people to train three or four, and have some lols watching everyone complain about ease as their starters/gifted/legendary pokemon, comprising their entire frickin team, curbstomp through the game

That's awesome. I figured Ruby/Sapphire remakes were next up before x/y 2, but I didn't expect to see them this year. Should be good, I remember playing and enjoying then years ago but I don't remember much about the games.

Tbh I thought they're gonna slip to next year. Gen I remakes came nearly 1.5 year after RuSa and Gen II remakes about 3 years after DP with 3rd version in-between, there is no discernible pattern tbh. And I thought we would know something already if they were to drop this autumn.

I most definitely didn't expect their announcement to be dropped on a random day out of nowhere. I know, fiscal call, situation on the front is dire but still, what the hell.

And the next time after that HGSS came after Platinum.

And the games talked about a whole bunch of other regions too. Go through a couple of Pokemon threads or the Community one. Not many thought R/S remakes were coming this year.

I don't know why this particular fact bothers you. It was a tossup between what was coming. There were even people thinking that there would be no Pokemon game this year because XY just came out.

Why are they even fucking doing this? The Gen 1 and 2 remakes were necessary because those games were incompatible with Gen 3 onward, but I can still take my 'Mons from the original Ruby/Sapphire and trade them up all the way to X/Y. This just seems like a lazy cash grab instead of making a X2/Y2 instead.

There are ways for Nintendo to recover your games if your system is lost. And if the system breaks, well obviously sending it to them to fix it will preserve your games too.

Carts are so much easier to lose than a whole system, too. Never feels safe just shoving a cart in my backpack or pocket.
