Forza Horizon 2 announced (360, Xbox One), releasing this fall

Also, go play Horizon. Like now.
Its one of the very best games on the 360 and managed to beat out Burnout Paradise for my racing game of the forever.

The rally expansion was overly expensive but I can't tell you how many times those races almost gave me a heart attack.

Its also 50% of the reason I have an Xbox. The other 50% is a split between Forza Motorsport and Halo 5.

If somebody could edit FH2 onto the cone that would be great.
I don't really understand why I'm quoted there...

I really hope so, because my CSRE is crying from loneliness for months now :/

Also, if this will be like I imagine it COULD be - damn. I am hating myself for writing this down, but if there will be some crazy Christmas sale in Austria and XboxOne become available for 350€ - I will go there and buy the damn thing, buy both FM5 and FH2, renew Gold subscription and hate myself totally :)

yes, I can see that problem. and luckily for you, I have a solution:
basically if you could just substitute the word "christmas" with a word like "next week" or even "right after e3",
keeping everything else more or less the same, I can guarantee you that the word "hate" will also be automatically changed by word "love"
;D

Would you say the rally expansion was a worthy successor to the RallySport games? I miss those terribly.

I really hope it's Tuscany...

I'm kinda hoping we get a "best-of" compilation of various terrains from around the Med.

Assuming they pull from a similar geographical area to the original, they're gonna be spoilt for choice:

(the big square being an outline of Colorado)

The only problem will be pulling it all together into a single cohesive map...

(side note: Colorado is fucking huge, holy shit)

loved to, but was a ps3 owner for last gen.Got Forza 5 atm and i really enjoy it.Not sure i will get a ps4 atm for driveclub, but this horizon game might make me hold my temptation if its good as you all are saying.

I wasn't into cars much when those games came out, and found Rallisport to be damn near impossible at the time. That was before I found a love of sim games and driving techniques.

All I do know is that Horizon's rally expansion was intense and fun as hell. At least for me. The different surface types and tiny margins for error meant that I needed to attain a state of driving satori to pull off first place.

Of course maybe I just kindof suck, but I loved every minute of it :)

I'm trying to understand why you posted these. There is nothing remarkable, memorable, or even average about them. They're just some light driving or replays doing pretty much nothing, and posted with no context at all.

This is a thread for the reveal of Forza Horizon 2. These are in-game videos from Forza Horizon 1. Many times, people will reminisce about earlier games in a series as part of their reaction to news of a new entry. These videos are examples of that. One is a beautiful time-lapse of the shifting of the time-of-day in gameplay, a well-known and much-appreciated feature. Another is a well-composed nighttime drifting sequence put together by players. The others are, likewise, moments from the game in question.

Ah, okay, those didn't look remotely memorable or worth looking back on, which is why I questioned it, particularly with its lack of any context or information in the post.

ill cry of happiness if they did something around the Etna volcano.(and around taormina).here in sicily....that would be amazing

You are a bad person for saying that.
I know. I know :)

I'll always love the Criterion that made that game happen though. Was like free roam racing mana from heaven. Even the co-op was amazing.

Speaking of which, thats another thing I'd like to see more of with Horizon 2. The way they handle co-op this time around.

I never bought it, but saw it firsthand at a Gamestop awhile back and thought first thing what an amazing looking game. The amount of gnashing over it is simply amazing. No doubt there are some areas for improvement, but first shot out of the box; damn good job.

Yeah i saw it in person for the first time when MS had the demo kiosks in the MS stores and between KI sessions i glanced over at Forza being played and thought it looked great graphically.

Seriously man, what the hell have MS got now that they're throwing everything ntkrnl spoke about out there. Halo, Quantum Break, Sunset overdrive not Forza Horizon 2. This is unlike any e3 buildup I've experienced.

You raise a good point, everything they have revealed so far is stuff we pretty much knew upbout but was just unconfirmed. How much do they have that we don't know about at E3. Even ntkrnl said he/she hadn't spilled all of the beans in that massive leak.

Why announce this now? Why not just wait a week?
At this point I'm pretty sure the Microsoft presentation is going to be the unveiling of an actual working Titan that will then drop onto the crowd of gaming press, stomping, and tossing and eating people whole while Phil Spencer cackles "GAMES GAMES GAMES" madly and "How do you like me now?" plays over the speakers.

Damnnnn I know I have to buy both consoles now (currently have none of them). I absolutely have to play the next Naughty Dog game no matter what, but I can't miss out on Quantum Break and now this.

Forza Horizon actually turned out to be one of my favourite games of last gen, it got so much right. It had that soul that many driving/racing games (including Forza and Gran Turismo) lack.

I do wonder if they actually will pursue a story or keep it like the first FH, with a few cutscenes and other drivers but with nothing actually going on. What do you guys think? I'd prefer if they scrapped those annoying other drivers altogether and just stick to wristbands/levelling up.

Ah, yes.

I'm almost sure that the PIC on the boxart is indeed Tuscany, but I would love to see a little cote d'Azur in there, and Greece.
I don't care about accuracy, I want to drive by the coast. Seaside !

The only thing I minded was that they made all of the other drivers into giant assholes.

That's not really necessary.

Doubly so if this game will have Drivatars, because the real assholes will be the people on my friend's list that cut me off before slamming the brakes.

That would also be bloody amazing. Also they managed to make a cohesive Colorado and that map was very varied. I think they could pull of a cohesive "best of" pretty easily.

I never actually picked up the Rally DLC. Is it worth it now?

Also I'm exactly the same regarding why I bought the X1. Halo and Forza is all I need in gaming and I would be happy.

Awesome! Cross-gen doesn't bother me as long as Playground is primarily focused on the Xbone version and it says they are so I'm fine. Love the idea of a music festival and the Europe setting, hope it still has an arcade feel to it that made the first game feel so good. Can't wait to see some gameplay.

Well if Horizon 2 is as good as the first then it is automatically one of my favourite games ever. FH1 was seriously that good imo.

Just showing that regardless of peoples "fears" for Horizon 2, Horizon 1 was an amazing game. Sorry if you don't feel that way but to say that it wasn't "even average" makes no sense.

Those webm's show what people enjoy in the game, cruising, drifting and enjoying the freedom of free roam I thought that it would be at least a little bit obvious in a Forza Horizon thread.

Plus some people haven't even seen the first part before and they can use these as reference.

I did a search on Xbox.com and the Rally Expansion is still $20. Jesus.

Now might be a good time to drop those prices MS/Turn 10.

I'll never understand why they don't mark down DLC like that years later. The game on the disc can be bought for $18.74 at Amazon right now, but you think people are gonna pay $20 for that DLC? haha, no.

Yeah, I might skip that and just wait for FH2. Chances are I'll get really hyped for it though and just buy the rally expansion just to have more FH1 to play leading up to release.

Honestly, they're pretty low quality, and don't exactly paint the game in a great light.

If you want to show off the original, there are much better ways of doing so. Albeit not embeddable.

No problem, bro. Game is great. Was just confused because they seemed like pretty mundane random sections of the game and, to ME, didn't show the game for how great it looked or played.

This isn't enough to tempt me at $399. Still need $299 for me to buy a kinectless xbone at this point.

I am a console graphics whore, I always have the top performing console. And IMO there's no way FH is going to be able to compete with #Driveclub visually for the fact that you are dealing with about 600 less gigaflops in power for the xbone (equivalent to two 360's duct taped on), and much less memory bandwidth.

So it's going to take something else to get me to spend another $399 plus $50.

Also the fact that a new Gran Tourismo is incoming, and that Project Cars on PS4 will use Morpheus.

I'm sure previous fans will love the game regardless though.

Forza Horizon was one of my favorite games of the generation and I got it for $15 from walmart on Black Friday, a week or two after it came out.

They are definitely better. Other reason I posted them is because I also wanted to try making webm's and these were the first I did since I couldn't find any of Forza Horizon.
