It's making me consider getting a Wii U and ignoring next-gen non-PC fighting games completely. I need to wait and see if the annual I'm getting fired rumors are true though before spending big money.

Xrd is on ps3, so wiiu will 100% be my next Gen console through 2015
 
Idk. Maybe im jaded but I find it kind of annoying how fans think the deserve something for, in this case quite literally, screaming really loud about how much they like something.

Even though a lot of Nintendo's E3 stuff is mostly 2015 games, I'm now in no rush to pick up a PS4.
Getting a PS4 in 2016 won't be so bad. Probably cheaper with a lot more games that interest me.

Ah so it was Aqua that started the drama with A league that Art was talking about earlier.

technically it was Sanford but Aqua did shit on it last. We know Aqua has a lot of fans so it was expected his fans would shit on the event also.

Once Sanford dropped out they should of not let him back in.

My interpretation is more that the fanbase is using it as another excuse to dump on Capcom, especially on the company's official line that the character/series is not very popular in America.

Hyrule Warriors, Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, and Bayonetta are still this year.

Bayonetta is all I want this year, but ill probably play some older Wii stuff on it as well since I never had one of those.

If my uncle didn't donate a ps4 to my household I would probably never have gotten one until like 3 price drops and when everyone is talking about the ps5.

lol where are you playing at? im playing from norcal. imo you let me pretty much do everything, free jump ins, roundhouse all day, etc. you have links though and some tricky setups but nothing online mash dp can't handle :D

you can always go through the replays to see what you did wrong. you did adapt to my overheads and shenanigans but i got in for free most of the time. i hate her hitbox for sure. most of my stuff was whiffing on crouchin sak. i blame muscle memory and autopilotness :[

a lot of the times i want to anti air your jump ins, but it was at an angle that at best we'd trade. it was just bad decision to use s.hp over c.hp

and your meaty kunai setup after knockdowns, i had no idea, it was just pure guessing.

can i punch your kunai after ex dp?

Speaking of the hype over the smash ball thing, I used to play Injustice before work with this dude each morning, and he wasn't really too good at fighters, anyway he bought the game on iOS and was showing me the super moves, which you activate with the touch screen of course. He had the happiest look on his face, and here's the thing, he couldn't land them at all in the console version because he didn't understand how to combo into it and every time he activated I'd just block. So idk there's people out there who just want to see what moves look like and don't care about the context i guess...

Starting to parse through a lot of the Giantbomb E3 stuff now and.. wow. Palmer Luckey is totally a huge competitive smash head.

There's definitely an Oculus Rift fighting game coming.

if you see a ibuki player do ex dp on wake up and throw a kunai, just level 1 focus and you get a full punish

Reacting to Kunai and punishing with a level 2 focus is not possible. The best thing to do after a EX DP is to immediately dash forward so you're not forced to guess whether the Ibuki is going to throw the kunai or not. This is still something I need to work on because I'm not doing it myself. But if it were up to me, she wouldn't even be able to do it. If I block your invincible reversal, give me my punish without any extra requirements. Don't make me guess what you're going to do next or be forced to do something immediately after blocking it to avoid the follow up.

The thing I hate about dashing forward after EX DP is you only get 4 frames to punish her (19 frame dash), I rarely manage to get out my 3f jab. Character with fast dash would have an easier time with it though.

Beh. Mortal Kombat games should be like classic James Bond movies: Fuck continuity, just use what you want when you want. If someone wants to try and tie all the shit together, let em, but that's ON THEM.

I think this is a good rule for all fighting games.

I also don't get why dead characters can't be selectable. If I were designing MKX, I would just have some of the roster slots with red X's in the corner or with the background grayed out in a "Warriors of the Past" section of the select screen. Make them non-selectable in single player. Problem solved.

3 in 1 Ninja/Princess characters seem like an easy way to avoid roster bloat. (Noob's been incorporated as an option for Scorpion.) They literally just pulled the Star Trek Reboot, so ignoring continuity already would be a bit silly.

MK is known for its story and lore more than pretty much any other fighting game so it's pretty important, and having dead characters selectable anyway for no story-supported reason would devalue it.
