Holy shit, this looks genuinely interesting and original.
Can't wait to see how it manifests as a mediocre third person shooter.
I laughed then cried.

The fade is the worst part in Dragon Age and the dream sequence in ME3 sucked. I hope its not what I'm imagining.
iOS game? iOS game.
Free 2 play? Online? PvP? From EA/Bioware?
Aaaaand it's gone. Any interest I could have in this, I mean.
I would think less along the lines of F2P MMO and more along the lines of F2P game.My hype was going through the roof until I saw those terms. Now I'm like whatever.
I'd love to see something like a single-player Secret World. Some of the imagery and those course descriptions sounded really fascinating.
But if it's a F2P MMO I think a lot of people will just wonder why they shouldn't play Secret World instead.
I suspect that's probably a companion product, perhaps to this.Apparently Failbetter Games, who did the Kickstarter Sunless Sea, have been working with BioWare for sometime. Dunno if this has anything to do with it though.

I don't get the impression they're making things that are like what people normally think of as an MMO outside of SWTOR.

Oh God, no more announcements for games that are still 2, 2 and a half years from release please!
I watched this on the toilet when I woke up this morning...LOL/tmi
I too was thinking "What in the world is this??"
Announcement of announcement at Gamescom?
That's what it says right in the video description though, so doesn't have to mean that Polygon knows more.Polygon seems to have some idea what it is given they say it's going to be a Gamescom debut: http://www.polygon.com/2014/7/25/5936173/bioware-teaser-trailer-shadow-realms
Checked my e-mail and I too have been chosen.for cheap penis enlargements

Based on the teaser and developer it will be an Action-RPG in a contemporary "urban fantasy" setting. The supernatural elements are pretty obviously going to be related to dreams. The protagonist will get involved in events beyond their control, have a mentor-type figure die in front of them, and then be inducted into an elite order of people who are charged with protecting the world / existence / humanity / whatever, calledthe Jedithe Spirit Monksthe Spectresthe Grey Wardensthe Sandmen. You will get a variety ofmageforcebioticdream powers in combination with more conventional weapons to do battle with your foes. You will gather a party of characters, many of whom will try to fuck you if you so much as glace at them or say hello when you see them.
You've been chosen....

Indeed...So that leaves Bioware Austin right?
