Looks like Newcastle signed Jamaal Lascelles but have loaned him back. I've never actually seen him play but I know quite a few big clubs were interested in him supposedly. Good buy it seems.

What a squad
njIBwgH.png

It is and I think it's crazy that people consider Chelsea to be a sure winner next season. All Chelsea needs is one injury up front and it will be a old man Drogba or Torres playing... Meanwhile you got 3 great forwards and one at least of the Torres class.

No. Jefferson and Patricio are the only two playing that will be on the regular starting eleven for the season, everyone else is a second or third choice.
What a lovely chip from Tanaka to João Mario who finished it in style. Good goal.
Can't even get in the Sporting 11 :/

Carvalho seems like a very un-Wenger like signing. I don't see it at all.

though, of course, who am I to doubt DEAN

I disagree. It seems very Wenger like besides the price. Relatively unproven talent, potentially very high reward, big and physical.

I am confused on these game timings.

Arteta is being linked to Bilbao. I'd keep an eye on that one. If we sign Khedira or Carvalho, we'll have a lot of CM's at the club.

Wenger would let Flamini go before Arteta.

Not so sure tbh. Flamini is also fullback cover. If he signed a good Arteta replacement he might sell him. And I remember how Arteta was complaining over the lack of a new deal for him. That could come into play.

Flamini will never play fullback at Arsenal.

When both are fit Arsene selects Arteta every time.

Dean is saying we should trust Leen.

Whether that adds or removes credibility, I don't know.

I think we're in for both and Arsene will choose whoever he thinks is the best deal as far as wages and cost go. Carvalho will cost more but his wages will be exponentially less than Khedira's, but Khedira will cost less.

Heard today that Fellaini is probably first to be shown the door by LvG. He's been off due to the World Cup right? Think not playing with the squad has hurt his standing or was he gone regardless?

Arteta will go before Flamini, if either goes at all. Flamini was brought in as a utility player. he was never supposed to be a first team regular. the role he'll play this season is the one he was supposed to play all along.

Dean does have sources. He called the Cazorla (back in AFCAMPDEN days) and Sanchez transfers early on. Sanchez as far back as before the FA Cup final. He's obviously a tool also but that doesn't mean he doesn't hear stuff. He's also gotten starting line ups before they hit the press from time to time. It adds credibility imo. Then again it's painfully obvious we're interested in Carvalho and Khedira as we're looking to add another midfielder this summer and we scouted the former quite a few times.

He already has though. I don't remember which game, but he finished it at fullback.

I think high fee lower wages is ultimately better as it makes it easier to renew. Also would command a much higher sell price if it came down to it.

It really does put our striker situation into perspective. :(

I think Negredo is going to be the breakout player upfront for City this year. Aguero will miss time, but Dzeko will pickup the slack and Negredo will become the player everyone assumed he was going to be last year. Easily reaching double digit goals in the league.

On the plus side, it looks as if Matic is more than capable of running off the ball and becoming an additional goal threat from midfield. If he can become our Yaya, that will ease some pressure off our attack minded players to score.

I could see Arteta leaving if Khedira comes in seeing as Khedira will most likely be a guaranteed starter, but if Carvalho comes I could see Arteta staying around for another season as I'm not sure Carvalho will slot in to the first team for every game.

What a team. You need Mancini back to give the rest of the league a chance :(

Buying Carvalho now could be a mistake for Arsenal. I'm not impressed by his current form, I'm enjoying Rosell more. Curious to see how Willy handles being the star of the team and playing in the Champions.

There were early reports that LVG did not see Fellaini fitting the team at all. He's been doomed since day of van Ghaleon. Amazing that we may sell Kagawa and keep Cleverly. He must be the best player ever in training.

He'll be on my starting lineup on FIFA
