Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition |OT| Loot has never looked this good before!

Glad to hear that they squashed (or at least attempted to) hacked items. Wasn't going to buy the game again if it wasn't addressed.

Look forward to starting from the beginning with my GF.

I've got this on pre-order, despite owning the original on PC (but not RoS). Between this and Destiny three weeks later, I think i've have quite a bit of multiplayer action to last till spring more then likely.

It does, there's special difficulty levels that specifically increase mob difficulty and rewards, in fact.

Yes, you can.

All classes are perfectly balanced, it doesn't really matter which one you chose, your gear will pretty much decide where you're at DPS-wise. They only differ in the way you play them, but they're pretty much balanced otherwise.

1) Experience does, loot quality doesn't exactly; your legendary drop chance does get higher with difficulty, the others don't and base stats of the actual gear that drops are not affected either.
2) Yes and yes.
3) No, and hard to answer until the next patch is final. Blizz is making changes to base damage rolls on two handers soon which will be big for Crusaders; if you didn't know, while Crusaders cannot dual wield, they do have a skill which lets them hold a two-handed weapon and a shield at the same time. Crusaders probably are not the highest DPS class though, and probably won't be by design in the future either.
4) Hard to say, I find most of the classes equally rewarding in different ways. They are all different enough from each other it can be refreshing to play a new one after playing another for a long period of time. Just choose which ever one interests you the most.
Or just pick a Wizard, because Wizards kick ass.

Thank you for your replies! Much appreciated.

Interesting, the Official Xbox site really liked it, but claims that the game is easy on the first playthrough, even on the hardest setting. I played D3 on the 360 and found it to be a good challenge on medium difficulty for my first run.

Hardest setting being the third easiest. As far as I know it's like on PC and you can't play Torment I - VI before you hit lvl 70. It'll get harder ;)

Strictly a console gamer and never played this on PS3 or Xbox 360. Loved Baldur's Gate and Champions of Norath/Champions Return to Arms on PS2. Safe to say I will like this?

thanks!

So monks are bottom of the barrel now in RoS????

That sucks if true, that's my favorite class lately ....

They are on the PC we don't know on the console how the balance will be. The console team tweaked class balance during development. Monks could be really bad or they could be right in the middle of the pack. Also at least for now the console versions will have un-nerfed EP and furnace/rimeheart combo.

Does anybody know if they have now the loot screen being shared and not exclusive to the inventory of one player when playing local coop?

Great job on the OT.
I'm sooo stoked to play this on PS4 come next Tuesday.

Can someone create a Google Doc and add it to the the OT so we can exchange our PSN ID's and Gamertags? This was so beneficial for making new friends in TLOU MP thread and I've met some really cool people as a result of it.

PSN ID: Yesterdaze_Hero

Yoshichan

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?

Yes. It's shared now.

Pre-ordered this. Looking forward to play on the console vs PC. So wish I could carry my PC save over but it will be fun leveling up again. Wondering what character I should start out with.

Definitely getting this, since Blizzard won't release the controller version on PC. I already have D3 on PC but would prefer the controller experience so I'm willing to start over.

Haven't decided which version to get and likely won't until we see the results of the Day-1 patch on both systems. I'll get whichever one has the best performance. If they are equal then I'll get the One version simply because I have more real-life friends there. I don't really care about the Clicker enemies or special armor bonuses.

I haven't played Diablo III since the vanilla version was released on Xbox 360.
Will "cursed chests" be included in the UEE console edition?

Ready for pre-load on PS4 :)

Still not sure of which class to go with, I got Wizard to around 60 on PC (RoS) and before that had a WD.

Thinking Barbarian or Crusader, anyone play both and have a preference?

I don't even know what this means. I've been having a good time on the PC version as a monk lately. When people say this, do they mean like as in high level play or the game is just harder with a Monk because I can just wreck shit with him now.

Hi, sorry for the ignorant question but can someone explain the couch co-op for this? Does the other person need a PSN account too? I might see if I can get my wife to play with me; do I need to set up an account for her first? Or would her character/progress be saved in-game?

The guy is slamming hard mode a lot for being too easy, though he's played a lot of Diablo.

Would Hard be a good starting point for someone new to the series? I figured I would start on normal, but now I'm thinking hard might be the place to start

I would start on Hard.

Has there been any clarification if there is a way to get your PS3 save data to your PS4 if you no longer have the PS3 disc?

Really annoyed because I traded it in for credit towards my PS4 UEE.

I'd say just rent the game when you wanna transfer your character. But so far there's no way without the old version disc.

If it works like on PS3, she can alternatively just use one of your characters instead.

I'm in the same boat and contemplating on even picking this up considering I've played it so many times on other platforms and just want experience the new stuff (playing Crusader would be my only draw to starting from level 1 yet again).

This might be a dumb question, but does co-op work across generations? Like can I play with my friend on PS3 using my PS4, or no go?

Only a handful of friends have moved onto current gen, and whether or not I can play with people on last gen would make the decision to buy a lot easier.

I know it's not likely, but I was hoping maybe it's possible since the characters/saves can be moved across a generation, and the multiplayer isn't exactly competitive...

I really don't expect any class tweaks to be that major. Unlike the vanilla versions of the games the PC and console experience for RoS should be fairly similar since the games will have the same difficulties and such. Also at the rate the patch is coming for PC it's also going to have un-nerfed EP/furnace/rimeheart about as long as the console version is -__-

People are talking about high difficulty. As you increase the difficulty up to T6 the amount of viable builds goes down each difficulty level. In the current game monk's 2 best T6 options are using a build that requires precision aiming with the mouse and literally causes motion sickness for some people (so no idea how this will translate to console) and a build where DPS is not important so you wear str/int gear for the extra defense (because dex is an AWFUL defensive stat currently) and use 3 of the absolute rarest items in the game. So rare that I get the feeling most console players aren't going to have them all before a patch comes out and ruins the build.

Every class is completely viable nowadays for T6 stuff, but, monk is the most fucked up.

Really looking forward to this.

Hopefully there are no issues with 4 player couch co-op in terms of frame rate.

Let's hope that day 1 patch resolves anything Digital Foundry have been talking about.

Are Crusaders good? How do the classes rank now? I haven't played for a couple years.

As of right now number 2/3 so they are very good. The issue is they are near the bottom on the PTR patch with the other melee classes. Great class but I said before choose the class you want to play. Balance will be different on the console besides the tweaks to classes the gear most likely will roll stronger than the PC this time around again.

Blizzard is treating the console game as a casual/arcade type. So the games will not be exactly the same. I expect the console version to be easier with better gear drops and tweaked balance to classes. They are really emphasizing the action combat enhanced with speed boosts ect. There will be tweaks to the game to match the vision they have been taling about.

I also expect the first few console patches to lag 4-10 weeks behind the PC. Until they streamline the whole process and get that down to almost same day.

What do you mean by better gear drops? Because we already know that the gear will be the same unless there are a few specific pieces that aren't for some random reason. Watching the gamespot PS4 stream from the other day you could see from the stat-range on items that they could roll the same stats as the PC versions of said loot.

It was a lot easier getting geared on console compared to PC I assume that's what he meant.

Like last time the console gear could roll with higher CHD and CHC. Emeralds also gave 10% more CHD on the consoles. Weapons also could roll higher raw damage on consoles.
