So Samsung finally makes a metal phone (which wasn't even really the problem people had with Samsung phones) and they still managed to fuck it up.

Oh Samsung <3

How would I go about unlocking a HTC One M8. I've been looking at videos and most of them say to put IMEI number into a site, pay a bit and they get you an unlock code. I haven't had to unlock a phone in years but I can get this M8 for free since my sister is getting a phone from work but it is locked to Vodafone, need it to work on EE. Something like unlockriver. Are these things legit to the point where they are not just ripping me off?

Edit:hmm apparently Vodafone will unlock it themselves for £20.

Basically you need to unlock the bootloader. There's a tool here that will assist you with that. You have to use terminal or command line in order to get what's called your Token ID. Once you have that, you'll register at HTCdev.com, sign in and go to the bootloader unlock page. Enter the token ID you got from command line and the HTC site will email you file that contains your unlock code. Use that program to find the file once downloaded to your cpu and it will unlock your bootloader.

Make sure you've backed up everything you want to save before this process, as your phone will be completely wiped. There are several youtube guides which will take you step by step on how to unlock, root and install recovery / busybox (if preferred).

But it's not an iPhone and it doesn't run Android. It runs Touchwiz.

I think you mean, white/silver looks ALPHA.

I wouldn't use a Samsung phone if someone gave it to me for free. I already made the mistake of buying one of their tablets.

Have any of you guys used Hola Unblocker for Android? I'm trying it but it somehow blocks all of my internet usage ( I can't even open Google) when running it.

I want to use it to watch other regions of Netflix and stream it to my chromecast. I just can't get it to work.

I could never get it to work with my chrome cast either bummer really.

That's not how Chromecast works. The device gets the signal to stream and connects to it's own video stream straight from the router. You aren't actually streaming Netflix from your phone/tablet.

If you want out of region Netflix on a Chromecast, you'll have to sign up for something like unblock-us.com and put the DNS details into your router.

I understand, thanks. Personally, I'm okay with the layout in the official app. I'm not a power user and mainly just browse through my feed. I'm actually kinda sad that it has replaced Feedly as my news source, but Feedly takes too much time. Speaking of which, what's the best Feedly client? I'm basically just looking for a Reeder clone on Android.
Press, and it will be getting a redesign when L releases.

Oh shit, I completely forgot about that part. That still doesn't explain why Hola is blocking all my internet access though in, for example, Chrome on Android.

Wow the new update makes Xbox Music on android actually work. Before that it refused to play anything on my android phone. I still have 6 months of service paid that I couldn't use till now so I'm happy I can use it.

Now here's a question: If I cancel my Google Play Music subscription, then resubscribe in 6 months will my collection still exist?

You mean your playlists, or the stuff you uploaded from your own collection? Because the latter plays even without a GPM subscription. I've never paid for GPM, but I use it to listen to my own stuff from the cloud all the time.

Oh, I see. Thanks for the thoughtful response. I'll delete the app immediately.

Okay.

It doesn't display tweets in chronological order. It's feature poor (no muting). It's search function is a disaster. It's designed by people who don't know what fucking contrast is. It has exceptionally poor display density. It's tabs don't correspond to the way anyone uses Twitter in the real world.

Happy?

"It's" means "it is."

"Its" is possessive.

I don't mind the Play store pages on a phone. I think they end up needing a bit more information density above the fold on a tablet.

It's very odd to roll them out with the front half the store not updated though, to y'know, real life customers. It looks kinda unprofessional and half finished.

Yesterday I noticed that the Note 8.0 came out in early 2013 and hasn't been refreshed since then and there haven't been any rumors of a new version. I guess Samsung killed the 8.0 series. Bummer. :/

They release tons of 8 inch tablets still, they just don't use the Note name anymore for tablets. They have the Tab Pro 8.4, Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, and a Galaxy Tab S 8.4 all released this year.

I've searched for the answer to this everywhere, but can't seem to find an answer so I'll see if GAF can help out. I am a newish Android user as I've had my OPO for a little less than a month. I came from iOS where I am used to storing my music in iTunes Match and then downloading the song I want for online playback from Match to my iPhone. I have uploaded my entire music collection to Google Play Music in hopes of having a similar music setup. I created a playlist in Play Music with the songs I want to download for storage on my phone since Play Music won't let you download individual songs for some reason. The playlist I created in Play Music is exactly the same as the songs that I've downloaded from iTunes Match to my iPhone. Those songs on my iPhone took up 5.7 gb, but Play Music says that the same songs will take up 16.5 gb on my OPO. Does that sound right? Is there a reason that Play Music file are 3 times the size of the songs in Match (or the original MP3 files for that matter)? If that is correct, what is the recommended alternative? Something like PowerAmp and just manually moving music to my phone? Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide.
