NHL 15 PS4 / X1 - No EASHL in the game?

I stopped playing 2014 due to the cheaters. I'd say it's about 5 - 8% of players that cheat. I would literally play about 1700- 2000 online matches with each version released.

The problem is a large percentage of players in the top 200 cheat. It's even higher in the top 100. I got up as high as 103rd overall in 2013 without cheating, because the closer you get to the top, the more cheaters you encounter. It's pretty bad when the top ranked online players are only there because they cheat or cause other players to disconnect for the win.

Having dedicated servers would get around the issue of host/lag booting due to the game currently being peer to peer. There's no other way to fix the issue.

2k had a few good years but the last game wasn't good imo. It had a lot of flaws, some being the gameplay/controls, with others being graphical related. It needed a reboot, but never got one. It did have the better AI though.

Out of curiosity, what sort of things would you see that seemed like cheating? I haven't played an NHL game in three years, and played so little online I wouldn't know the difference between cheating and kicking my butt.
I believe you though, some people seem a little TOO good sometimes.

Well the typical ones I saw were:

1. lagging an opponent until they either disconnect, or can't react quickly enough to defend. This one was the most used. It literally made some people impossible to play against/beat.

2. Forcing an opponent to disconnect from the EA servers to get the win. I'm still not sure how people managed this but you would typically see it from people that had an incredibly low amount of losses.

3. The bug where they pause the game and it doesn't continue the game. this one was the most annoying issue, as your game would just say "please wait" or something to that affect, while the other player somehow got out of the game was playing someone else. if you restarted the game, you would get a disconnect but the other player would not get a loss.

Then there were the more traditional ways of cheating. Glitch goals, playing keep away with the puck ( ie not attacking after you get one goal ) those both happen tons but you can't really stop them every time.

I've seen some really weird things in the game. Some players you pay against, there's no slow motion lagging, but for some reason it's like your controls are in slow motion. The other player can simple make their players spin and turn away from your (basically reacting to things you do incredibly fast). you literally can't check them or get the puck off them.

I've also seen games where the guy you are playing has incredibly aggressive AI players, you won't see them even try to take control of a player to get the puck, but the AI chases you down and gets the puck up you for them. Those guys also NEVER take penalties.

EASHL aside, I really hope they worked out even a few of the minor issues with BAGM.

That shit's been messed up for years and wouldn't take all that much to fix.

The game comes out 3 weeks from tomorrow... and if they are releasing info within less than 3 weeks of release that is imperative to customers, they really did then fuck up hardcore, even if the modes are in it in the end.

Again, we don't know for sure. All I know is that people who are part of EA Access get to test the full game five days early before release, so that's the only guarantee way we know for sure what's in or not. If no info drops I'll report asap what's in or not upon five days of early release.

We'll see in the demo next week, it always list the game modes.

That would be amazing because of lower latency. But this game being multiplatform probably means that they just use EA servers for matchmaking, and rest is peer to peer. I hope I'm wrong.

yeah I was hoping for some kind of difference this time around. Basically means cheaters will prosper :(

The new commentators have boring voices that are unpleasant to listen to.

I prefer the old commentary team. The deal with NBC takes some of the soul out of NHL too.

EASHL is probably cut too so I'm thinking of cancelling my pre-order.

Up until today my plan was to pickup NHL15 on PS4 regardless of whether EASHL was in or not, even though that's been my most played game mode for several years.

Today I've had a change of heart and whenever it gets officially announced/confirmed that EASHL is not included I will be cancelling my preorder and skipping NHL15. I've never liked the "lazy devs" criticism on GAF, but it seems more apt here than ever before.

I still have NHL14 on 360 and that will be enough to scratch my hockey itch. It doesn't matter as much that my VS mode rosters won't be up to date since all the players play the same anyway...

Zero interest in Be a GM, Be a Pro, or HUT....and the two modes (EASHL, GMC) I couldn't wait for might both be cut....I can't believe it.

I'm pissed off in a major way but still hesistant to call them lazy devs. There must be a reason it's not in the game - I still won't be buying it if that's the case but I am curious to hear their explanation as to why it's gone.

they had 2 years combined with an emphasized focus on sharing technology between EA Sports studios, there is no excuse

What a bunch of fuckwads. EA and their lazy fucking team couldn't come up with these staple modes in TWO FUCKING YEARS!? If we gave them that kind of time again, it'll probably just add NHL 94 and Winter Classic modes again instead...

Another year where I will only get this game on gamefly, play it for two weeks then send it back. Ea has been slacking for the last 3 years with the NHL games.

Does EA try to piss off customers as much as they actually do? Like why isnt this in the game? Hell you didnt make a next gen version last year and this years is stripped down? Why did you do with all that extra time? I dont see a point in even buying this game now.

Agreed. Instead of focusing on getting things that were in this generation in, they put all their focus on presentation - something that people skip after owning the game for one week.
