The Evil Within: Every Last Bullet Trailer

Worst problem with the game's graphical prowess for me is the horrible IQ. There is so much shimmering on everything in the game, don't remember the Wolfenstein trailers being nearly as bad. Hopefully it'll be easier to use MSAA with it than Wolf, the console setting only worked half the time for me.

So, I have a feeling that this game is going to be the latest victim of the Clover curse and bomba. Sure there is hype for it here but I just do not feel that hype is shared by the general populace. I get the feeling that the common plebeian gamer is not even aware of the game's existence.

Will it even be able to outperform Vanquish I wonder.

I'm struggling to choose between this and Alien Isolation. On one hand I love the old RE games, yet RE4 is the only game I dropped within minutes of starting it (was late to the party by a whole gen) but I'm also a huge fan of Alien, yet grew very weary of Outlast's play style by the time the DLC hit. I kinda want both but I'm not sure on either, yet there's nothing else until the end of October.

I hate decisions.

hmm getting LOTR tomorrow, not sure if I will pre-order this one or not. Love the trailer though. It's very tempting.

Alien Isolation being first person and basically "run and hide" made it easy to downgrade it to bargain buy.

I thought Dishonored and Wolf sold good according to Pete?

Yeah I mean I think they did well enough to make a nice little profit but they weren't huge games and not as many played them as maybe there should have been. My opinion, of course, but you don't hear much about a sequel or how either was a runaway hit.

Ugh, buy LOTR tomorrow or this in 2 weeks. Such a tough call.

This looks like it will scratch my RE4 itch. Favorite game ever.

Why the hell wouldn't you? It's Shinji Mikami.....case closed.

You just know deep down that he's gonna deliver the goods.

Once again I think I speak for Tricky I Shadow and myself:

Bethesda recently called Dishonored a series and I could have sworn it was an open secret that a sequel was in the works.

It doesn't mean anything but I was really surprised hearing a guy I know, that totally enter that general populace label, talking to me about how crazy that game looks and that he was going to buy it. It sure did surprise me.

Gave me a sliver of hope for decent sales...

I hope you're wrong but I fear you might be right.

Didn't I read somewhere that Mikami is retiring after this game anyway?

I am hyped for this game aswell! I have my ps4 ready just need to scrounge up some money for the release :D

Btw, how did you guys get these crazy evil within avatars? can I get mine made too?

Well for dishonored there is a sequel in the works which was rumoured to be revealed at gamescom.

I chose to wait on Alien Isolation, myself. It looks good, but The Evil Within with it's classic brand of survival horror and resource management is more my speed. Too much sneaking and hiding does a great job at making you feel helpless, but can wear thin rather quickly. It's kind of a one trick pony. Especially when it is only against one enemy. The Evil Within is doing much more than that.

I think it looks awful, but I really hope it's good. This and Bayo 2 are probably my only purchases the rest of the year.

I share this sentiment. I want it to be good, but I'm yet to be convinced by any of the footage I've seen thus far. Didn't think much of this trailer.

I'll be interested to see what reviews this gets as my impressions from Eurogamer Expo was less than stellar. I found it boring as sin. :(

He has said that this will be the last game he will direct, which is a damn waste of talent if you ask me. Even though he wants to foster the next generation guys like him do not exactly grow on trees. Maybe if Evil Within bombas real hard he will have no choice but to continue to direct more games. Silver lining, people.

I think personally, that horror games don't show well at shows. You don't have a lot of context to what your doing, just a small chunk, and considering it's got major exploration, resource scavaging, etc, it feels a bit disjointed not playing from the start. That's what I've taken away from the moments, I played some horror games back at conventions before. Then again, the game might just not be for you.

Wow this keeps looking better and better

Wish it hadn't been delayed. Have the same concern that it might get lost in the shuffle.

Yeah I'm getting the feeling the gameplay in Isolation will start to wear thin for me before the game is over, but the idea of the game is still something I want to support since its pretty much my dream Alien game. I'm looking more for something with an interesting story to give me a break from some MP games though and The Evil Within seems to have that in the bag by quite a big margin.

Well I enjoyed the shit out of Aliens Isolation when I played that. The Evil Within just feels like it's pandering to a old Resident Evil fans than trying something new. As someone else said while they were there: it isn't scary, it just feels like I'm managing resources.

Sounds good to me.

Not into the presentation and hoping the gameplay is super solid to make up for it. I got it paid off but unless the reviews are good I'm taking it back. Just doesn't seem like Mikami is bringing his A game to me.

I couldn't resist watching and wow, it looks amazing!

I love that the trailer looked like a horror movie from the 80s.

Regardless of how the reviews pan out....... the story/characters/dialogue are going to get trashed by almost everyone. Just watch.

That's great, since I don't want something to try to be new just to be different. I'd rather a tried and true formula done well than something new, novel and shitty.

Also managing resources is a huge part of what SURVIVAL horror is all about.

Can't wait for this game.

Game of the year (with Wolfenstein in second place ;-)

A perfect mix of Resident Evil 4 combat, camp and encounter design with some old Silent Hill mindfuckery.

I guess it just depends on what scares you. I'm pretty confident that managing resources will not the THE only reason TEW is scary. Guess will see soon enough. he question is, will Alien stay scary throughout, or have they blew their load already to to speak? Personally I think both games will offer unique experiences different from each other.

They probably will be trash going by the cheesefests Mikami has made so far lol

That didn't stop people from enjoying the games anyway

Well I'm sure this is well in your wheel house then if that's what you want. It is very much Resident Evil 4 HD from what I played.

There is def improvements from RE4 to this game, but that being said.... I don't see most people thinking your comparion as a bad thing.
