Can you tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps?

11/11. I really wasn't expecting go get them all right, but most of them were really easy to tell apart. I prefer 60 fps, but a lot of games are perfectly playable at 30 fps, at least for me.

Just tried again. 11/11, up from 4/11.

Did some serious focusing and cross examination to get that score. Also, staring between both screens helps.

Team "notice in comparisons, not usually in gameplay"

I can't tell the difference, I gave up guessing midway through the test because I was just picking at random, unable to see anything. Although I think I might've seen it in the more fast-paced ones, like with the racing game.

I also think it's probably a lot easier to see when you're actually playing the game yourself. But then, I remember that I played Bayonetta PS3 and did not ever think "man, this framerate sucks".

Also, while I'm sure most people here can tell the difference, topics like this are always going to be biased towards those who scored "high" because the others will be less likely to report their scores.

I'd be interested to see if your score goes up if you tried again and stared between both screens, noticing the choppier option in your peripheral, rather than glancing back and forth.

6/11 and I felt like I was guessing most of the time.

I feel like 60fps is more responsive, but when just looking at video, I can't tell the difference. I've played 60fps games before, I guess it's nice. I don't really care that much, though.

Yes.

Only ones that took a while were ones with very simple textures (detailed graphics are inherently easier to see the difference).

Got 9/11. Got the Turtles game and white background flying game wrong.

Don't care much about framerate outside of fighters and racers, really. Often think that 60fps looks worse, and those videos bore that out.

it's pretty telling that even without one playing most here got perfect scores. I imagine if it was real gameplay with one controlling it, then it would just be impossible not to notice.

Nope. Got 6/11

A couple of them had something that stood out and I got those right, but on 8 or 9 of them I was literally guessing. No difference at all between them.

Can't tell the difference when playing games either unless it's really really low.

8/11.

Could only tell the difference with the ones with fast movement, most of them being FPS. The others, like Trials, were harder to distinguish IMO.

I actually surprised myself how many I got right from that! I wouldn't say that I found the difference to be especially noticeable for most of the games, though. I should probably note that this is something I've never really gone out of my way to try to take much notice of.

11/11 easy.

But to be honest the video and the resolution is too small to make it that noticeable to inexperienced gamers.

OMG yes! Such a difference!

Your Score:11/11

Made my choice within 5 seconds in my most videos too. 30fps is totally playable though. Loving Destiny despite 30fps. But I have spent a lot on money on my PC so I can play most games at 60, it is a huge improvement to the feel of a game.

11/11
It wasn't until I went back and forth between 30 and 60 fps in TLoU remastered that I realized how night and day it is.

I got 10/11 but the wrong one was a fluke. It started out with the first three 60fps vids being on the left side so by the fourth one I thought " they gotta change sides now just to be tricky" so I clicked the right side before really looking at it, and I was wrong.

so 10/10 when i was actually looking

9/11 on my phone. Browser wasnt playing nice during arma and one other game. It was hitching in my browser fooling me lol

Got them all correct until Max Payne where Chrome refused to load the videos and got stuck for some reason. I can see the difference, cause I am not blind. It's easy enough when it's node side by side, but with a side by side comparison it's just... Extremely easy.
