Themes are neat, and dang if the new menus don't look nice, but $2 is a bit much in my eyes. It's about the maximum I would pay for something like this, and it would have to be really cool - give me a Smash Bros., Metroid, or a really badass Pokemon theme and maybe we can talk, but nothing less.
I do hope they do free promotional themes. It would be easy and neat to package new games with 3DS themes to match, or release special themes through Club Nintendo.

I know my internet isn't all that but I've used two connections and my 3DS is refusing to update. It's stuck 1/3rd along the way of the update. This sucks

A really easy way to make the themes worth the price, at least for me, would be to make them cross-buy with the Wii U. Two bucks for a cool Zelda theme for both the 3DS and Wii U is a lot easier to swallow than two bucks for just the 3DS theme.
