Good point.

So, basically the Wii U > all else when it comes to exclusive quality gaming experiences this gen?

Well PS4 and Xbone share a lot of multiplats that makes their libraries comparatively larger but if you're looking at exclusives then yes WiiU seems to have them beat so far.

Not actually that important
In another life, bayo 2 is multiplatform :/

I would buy this in heartbeat if it was on ps4. I would even buy this on ps3 if it was available.

will buy an xbox one as well in the future and get scalebound to support them. They're the only studio that I do not need to read previews/reviews or much information at all on any of their games cause I fully trust their amazing talent and have never been let down by them

So you'd buy the X1 purely to support Scalebound but resort to portbeg for Bayo2... mmmkay.

You've been trolling Bayonetta sales pretty hard... the salt is real

Salt? Lol I have a Wii U. Why would I be salty? If I want I can just go buy it. The fact is its going to flop in terms of sales. Good reviews won't change that. Did it change for the original? No. Like the game? I'm happy for you. But to point to reviews and an increase for a day of sales as some great indicator is funny.

Everyone knows its not gonna sell. It doesn't matter.

We've known it wasn't gonna sell shit forever ago. For people to keep harping on that is silly.

I honestly think Nintendo doesn't care either. There was zero chance of this game moving units. From the start.

How do people feel about Nintendo dropping review embargoes almost two weeks before the game releases? I appreciate it as a consumer, but don't know if it makes sales sense. Gamers tend to be very "in the now". My friend bought Shadow of Mordor because he saw that it had awesome reviews the day it was launched. Will people still be talking about the high scores in ten days?

Just a thought.

As is for folks to act like reviews will change that fact.

Granted I haven't read the whole thread, but who is really acting like that? Thats silly too. Sure, reviews will convince some people to pick it up, but they aren't gonna move mountains.

As a side note, reviews do matter. Thats why there is such a huge emphasis on this from publishers and the gaming public in general. But Bayo was never gonna be all that affected by reviews.

I've been enjoying taking a trip down memory lane to two years ago when the whole "Wii U Exclusive" thing first happened. It's quite humorous to look at the responses from the outrage that caused. People threatening to kill Nintendo or Platinum employees, threatening suicide, and in one case, in such denial they admitted they would rather not have the game exist at all if it meant it NOT being on the Wii U. If I had the time and patience I would do a blog on the two year journey of this stuff leading up to now.

yes they will... it gives the game time to build momentum / anticipation - this is a crowded release season, it needs time to build word of mouth

It shows they are confident in the games they put out.

Its a sign you actually trust your product. No idea why you would ever buy anything a publisher tries to hide from you until you already bought it.

I have no doubt about that. I just don't think it really makes sense. The reviews will fall off the front page of outlets and people won't be able to see review and run out to a store to buy the game. I'm not saying it's bad for us, I just don't know if it's smart for them.

I'm suggesting more along the line of the a day or two before release, not the day of, or even more stupid, after. Ten days is a long, long time in this biz.

Can't port beg without being banned.
Can't shit on the game for being bad.

Only option left is to troll hypothetical sales.

Suprised? Lol

GB don't review that many games, and if they happen to review one, they do take their time in order to get the most of their games.

One of the few things I appreciate about them.

GT trailers has also reviewed games late in the recent days. FIFA isn't even revewied FFS
Bayonetta 2 review code was sent out last Tuesday. I think it's less about taking their time and more about prioritizing their coverage.

Dude its moving up the Amazon charts fast now... its all over the internet. You think people aren't going to see "HOLY SHIT BAYONETTA 2 IS AMAZING" everywhere?

You think that is going to make it a 500k-1 mill seller? There's been a significant increase...from WHAT original number? Look at the predecessor. Look at the sales in Japan. Look at the total install base of the Wii U. Reviews aren't going to make this a sales success. Sorry. Love the game? Great. Don't expect it to be a sales success because its not.

I'm honestly asking a question, not trying to troll Nintendo or say they're dumb. Companies that hold reviews until after the game is out or the day of are a million times worse. I'm not even saying Nintendo is wrong, simply posing a question.

I know you're only being facetious, but some will take what I said to mean that.

Don't be mad when posters respond to other posters who INTRODUCE the sales factor. You should be mad at the original posters who brought the sake factor into play. Oh wait, you won't because it was in a positive light.

umm who was port begging?? I already know there's no chance bayo 2 will get ported anywhere other then a nintendo system. I was just stating I would get the game on a system I have if it was available. If I get xbox one, it won't be only for scalebound otherwise I would just get the wii u for bayo 2. Xbox one has killer instinct, phantom dust, forza, halo 5 and media apps that I like. Plus I'm hoping the kinect is good for partys.

Burn. Yeah the port begging for Bayonetta 2 still surprises me. If you post on this forum how do you not know that Bayonetta 2 was funded by Nintendo at this point? It wouldn't exist without them otherwise.

Actually they put it up 20 minutes ago (FIFA review) but that's not for here beyond "Hoping they put it up soon" but I have a feeling GT might be one of those who reviews it lower, I dunno they always seem to be conflicting on their own review guidelines. Like when they gave Uncharted 2 the 9.3 and said "There is no way based on our guidelines we could ever give it higher because it's nothing new" and then went and gave MW2 a 9.5 and the complete sweep of "System" goty awards as well as overall goty. I dunno, it just seems like they have a anti Nintendo bias a little bit and for a game to do well it has to be unquestionably amazing. Then again ever since the first site change I haven't cared about GT as much.

At the very least, the fact that there are early reviews of Bayonetta 2 show a much better rhetoric than what the situation was with the Destiny reviews. And yet it's sad that this game achieved pretty much a consensus with great acclaim and yet most will spend their money on a dude bro title rather than a love letter to all gamers out there.

My my, Bayonetta sure is controversial, huh? I always thought the first game was kind of toeing the line between parody and thing-to-be-parodied. Well, I don't see the hubub hurting sales. No such thing as bad PR as they say.

Sometimes, I wish I could be half the woman Bayonetta is.

Might have to finally get a Wii U...

Are you six heads tall? Pretty sure that would be about half. lol

Yeah I don't see why some people get offended. Game was destined to flop from the day it was announced as a Wii U exclusive.

Kind of sad that this is one the highest reviewed titles of the year and this thread has already been completely de railed by "lol gonna sell like shit".
