Halo |OT 20| It really does feel like Halo

So, I've been adding a lot of people to my friends since I joined Gaf. I have a couple hundred people now and being able to remember people specifically from HaloGAF compared to people who i've added for destiny or Horizon 2 is probably impossible.

So, I think I'm gonna add everybody from the OT GT list to my "favorites" as a means of separating everybody between gaf and halogaf.

That way I can play with some solid/experienced players and wreck shop more often.

Anybody have a better system?

If they were going to fix I think they would have done it by now.

They also have these to fix.

That is honestly the absolute worst. I noticed that immediately playing the 360 version. That is to me, just absolutely unacceptable. It makes the jump in graphics look more jarring and "impressive", but it's not true to the game.

*sigh*

Video game news in the last 7-10 years seems to just anger/disappoint me more than anything.

These might be the same species that popped up without much fanfare in Escalation. Nice to see other races than the Covenant out there.

If only MS had a freaking folder system.

The Halo Channel's latest Bulletin update has that inside look at 343 video. In the video there are different scenes of whiteboards, one of them notes this: "Priority #2: Spectator Cam".

Nice catch man. That's really important for Halo to be a great competitive game to watch. That's exciting. Hope it comes to fruition.

I've seen plenty of well thought out posts for and against sprint in Halo.
In the end I think the best way to do it would be to have sprint in larger game modes where it has the most use and keep it out of smaller modes. If there was a more diverse movement system though then maybe it could work in smaller maps as well.

A core aspect of Halo is map traversal right? Well then why not allow more creative ways to get around the map as opposed to just jogging everywhere? Create a great movement system that rewards skillful use and design maps around it so players can approach situations in more ways. If the maps are designed around this movement system then players can come up with ways to counter players and vice versa. It could make for more intense firefights and interesting competitive games as well.

Oh, I'm not trying to say there aren't any issues with sprint, or that the points raised aren't legitimate concerns. However it annoys me when people try to pass their subjective opinions off as objective fact.

Bungie did a lot of tricks for effects which gave gearbox problems

While we can hope 343 will go back to 're-port the shaders specific to those effects, unfortunately most people don't even realize what's missing :(

1:04 (When you see Josh Holmes, pause.)

Camera wasn't really focusing on it, just a slip.

Also Halo 5 internal name is "Osiris".

Holy shit, there it is! Nice catch dude.

Egyptian god of the dead. Hmmmmmmm.

Without delving too deep into the symbolism, Osiris was killed by his brother and brought back as the king of the dead. Could just be a cool name, could be very, very deliberate.

Video quality is pretty spotty in places, though. And load times aren't so hot.

But other than that, it's great. Loving the stuff in the community section :)

Yeah, the quality seems to jump around a bit, hopefully that's just launch issues though. The UI is really clean and surprisingly easy to use.

That new race? Bleh....

Looks too human imo. Halo has done a really good job at making the alien races look alien, compared to lots of other (in their defense, older, sci fi mediums)

I agree, reminds me of Doctor Who...

So 343 will be doing maps in other games for that "Map Breakdown: video series. Very nice.

Sounds like it, Bravo said that they will be doing maps from the entire MCC so hopefully they do maps other than the H2A ones.

Edit: Just found the other map breakdowns. Thats cool that they already have them all made.
