in a parallel universe FF13 would have been a great game, Nomura would have brought out FF Versus on the Ps3 and Sakaguchi is still at SquareEnix or should i say Square Soft

One pretty solid theory I heard is that Luna has a necklace of a moon over a star...what if she's an older sister who looks out for Stella?

What if something happens to Luna sometime into the game by the hands of Noctis, which triggers Stella to fight Noctis? That imagery could be symbolism for Luna looking over Stella like with that necklace.

Hey, but who knows, that stuff's back in 2008. We're 6 years removed from that. Speculation.

I guess since we're free to speculate I'll put in my opinion, I think Luna and Stella are either
  • Twins
  • Clones
  • Long lost sisters
  • or just the same person acting in two different roles
I do not think that they swapped out Stella for Luna, she still played a prominent role in the E3 2013 trailer.

Also, as a side note you see Luna carrying the moon necklace (Latin for Luna) while you see that Stella has star earnings in the E3 trailer. (Latin for Stella).

She's wearing a moon over star necklace, which I think is pretty significant.

so if we are going by a romeo and juliet idea, then what, Luna is Tybalt, or Mercutio?Could be interesting. Maybe it'd be more like was being helped by Noctis caused her death inadvertently?

or is the story more like hamlet now? Idk.

Stella had stud earrings and a bead necklace in 2008
In 2009 during the meeting trailer she had no earrings or necklace
In 2013 she had star earrings and no necklace

Luna doesn't have any earings but has a moon necklace with a star inside it.

Either Stella uses Luna as an alias, Stella was renamed to Luna, the character of Stella was changed and a new character who resembles her was made in her place and named Luna, or Stella and Luna both exist as two different characters.

Yeh I thought of something similar to that, like the moon in the old 2008 trailer was foreshadowing something relating to a moon that will dictate what Stella does.

And that necklace having a moon surrounding the star could also reinforce that idea of a moon, Luna, looking over a star, Stella, could also be nothing though.

I've been thinking it may also have something to do with the logo, in the TGS trailer the moon Noctis is looking at fades into the logo with the face right in the center, could signify that the woman in the logo befalls some kind of sleep like state, possibly again foreshadowing Luna being central to why Noctis and Stella would fight.

Omnis Lacrima and Somnus both make reference to some kind of awakening too.

But speculation will only get us so far.

Any other streams other than Niconico? I'm having a hard time understanding it.

Stella's 2013 "redesigned" outfit is also different to Luna's dress from what we can see.

Stella had a high collar here different to Luna's collar which is flat and low, not high.

What if Tabata just changed some core factors of the game, only to put his mark on this game.

To show the world, this is my game, not nomuras anymore :p




Deep Down in my heart i have this little fear...In the interviews he also said, that this wont be the exact same game, because FFXV has a new producer now, with different imaginations

I hope we get a new legit trailer and not only some random footage of chaacters running around. And some new music!

...we've come so far along, a year ago I would've gladly taken 2 minutes of close-ups of a random street. >_>

"How is FFVersus coming along?" And then the other person (maybe Hashimoto?) said that the cities looked great?

I just remembered this, I don't even know if they were talking about Final Fantasy lol

Looks like we'll be seeing those cities.

I remember this too, it was about Versus XIII indeed.

It was actually even stupider than that. In response to the (then almost) 2 years of silence about Versus XIII, Kotaku reported that the game was cancelled. A day or so later, Wada tweeted something like "oh no it isn't cancelled, I just got back from a meeting about the game and the cities looked amazing!" We wouldn't see the game for almost another year.

It's kinda weird that he said that, too. Tabata made it sound as if it was barely developed, and showing a whole, beautiful city sounds pretty advanced IMO.

Ah yes, good old Kotaku.

I remember it much better now.

I mean, at least we did get an overview of the city after a while, and it looks the part =P

Well the Versus PS3 build had a complete traversable worldmap, but the hardware couldn't handle it's scope and usage of vehicles apparently, which is obviously pretty important to a roadtrip game.

They have probably used the versus map as a template but re-created it in the new engine. I'm sure the only thing remaining from the Versus build is the visual works CG.

Anyways, heard that these new scenes will be in the latest trailer. So pumped for it :D
