Watch_Dogs or Sleeping Dogs?

I'm playing through Sleeping Dogs for the first time now, and everyone in the thread is right. It's been a pretty fun ride.

Wow, Gaf hivemind never fails. Sleeping Dogs it is then!

Change the question then. Sleeping Dogs or GTAV?
Sleeping Dogs is definitely better than Watch_Dogs, but it pales in comparison to GTA V.

Since you're on PC, I would just play Sleeping Dogs now and wait for V to hit PC. Save the best for last.

You've heard about Watch_Dogs multiplayer modes, right?
Do the Invasion and Tailing modes sound like something you'd be interested in? If so, Watch_Dogs can be a lot of fun. If not, then you absolutely should get Sleeping Dogs.

My biggest complaint with Sleeping Dogs is the lack of side content. But if you actually look at the side missions and minigames in Watch_Dogs....they're really just slight variations on the same d@mn theme.

I sure feel in the minority sometimes on GAF.

Found Sleeping Dogs terribly dull but quite enjoyed Watch_Dogs, though I didn't think it was great or anything.

Even contest but Sleeping Dogs by a margin. Both have weird controls and wonky ass car physics....but Watch Dogs has the worst car mechanics in the history of gaming. I can't make a slight turn without doing doughnuts.

Can somebody please elaborate why Watch_Dogs receive so much flack. I played the game and find it actually enjoyable. Sure it's lacking proper polish, but the game is actually good in my opinion.

When I played sleeping dawgs, there was a narrative that at least justified the madness created by my character as he works on a case to get vengeance over the loss of a loved one. And it was extremely enjoyable to create said madness.

In watch dogs, you play as a hacker who is a total sociopath and only had himself to blame for all of the shit going on around him. Also, almost every single mission ends in a chase that just fucking sucks. The game is too long and a complete bore to play.

If you haven't played sleeping dogs, do yourself a favor and go play the best open world gta game not named gta from last gen. You'll have a great time with it.

It's fine. Just not the super next gen ultra game hyped out to be. Also it has the worst protagonist in a game in a decade.

watch dogs has better graphics and shooting but sleeping dogs has a more interesting story and characters (motherfuckin Wei Shen).

I'd go with sleepy dogs

It's not necessarily a bad game, it just feels like it has no personality. Sleeping dogs is veritably soaking in personality by comparison.

Also Watch Dogs has the worst main character in the history of Ubisoft.

WD if you want to shoot stuff.

SD if you want to punch stuff.

I enjoyed both. Just depends on the primary combat mechanic you want to use.

Sleeping dogs

Watch_dogs while maybe technically better just felt boring and uninspired the entire time playing you're just asking "why?". Which was the opposite of Sleeping dogs

And watch_dogs story is horrible, one of the worst in recent memory.

Kind of in the mood for an open world action game. Which one is better, considering everything, graphics, driving, shooting, characters, story, etc?

It's on PC by the way.

Sleeping Dogs

Still Sleeping Dogs

I'll just answer your next one as well: Sleeping Dogs.

Feel free to pick up GTAV when you feel like being a tourist and doing plane stunts. For everything else, Sleeping Dogs.

I played Sleeping Dogs when it was free on PS Plus and I agree it's a better game overall, but I don't really agree with Watch_Dogs being boring...then again I'm a sucker for cyberpunk type of games.

It's fine. Just not the super next gen ultra game hyped out to be. Also it has the worst protagonist in a game in a decade.

I can agree with this. I tried to like the main character, but it's like if Brad Pitt played Neo instead of Keanu Reeves. He just wasn't clicking with me.

It's not necessarily a bad game, it just feels like it has no personality. Sleeping dogs is veritably soaking in personality by comparison.

fair enough. I just can't fathom the "GAME SUCKS" type of opinions on the game, rather than the breakdowns to why the game wasn't enjoyable. You had people saying it was one of the worst games of 2014, which is a stretch. If it was just a typical AA game, it would have been a sleeper hit or at least tolerable to most gamers.

Anyone sane would recommend Sleeping Dogs.

Make sure you play the old PC version and not the definitive edition that came out recently.

Sleeping Dogs is fun. Only problem there isn't enough of it. It ended before I felt I had got enough out of it, but its mechanics weren't deep enough to sustain much of the repetitive sidequesting action.
