Not to be a downer but those just look like empty plains with fancy backgrounds. I know this isn't a platformer of course, but hopefully there's some variety in the terrain.

Not sure if you saw the same trailer, or noticed the flying mechs, but there's alot of vertical geometry in the design. Those backgrounds you saw are explorable. The plains will likely be for on foot, while the more extreme terrain is for the mechs, with some variety in between. We've seen very little mech footage but what has been shown strongly suggests this.

Game looks great, but I don't think I'll ever be able to get over the white haired character looking like she's a Barbie made of plastic...
Or screw it, she actually almost looks like a gelfling from The Dark Crystal.

If there's one thing I cannot stand about the majority of animes, it's when they don't have a cohesive aesthetic, where the main characters look like they are from another planet compared to practically everyone else on the show. Same thing seems to be going on with this game. The main characters stick out, and not in a good way at all.

This is true of any large RPG and open world game. Minor NPCs are always a lot less detailed; it would be nice for it to be consistent but that would take a lot of work.

However what I don't really like is the derpy looks of the main characters, especially the PC.

Does someone have the .gif of the cat? We shouldn't overlook the most important NPC in the trailer.

its a custom character so I'd asume he's still siletn, sadly. would've rather they made a original characterlike they did for XC.

Edit: I wasn't paying attention that much (so it could be a mute character), but it's not an exclude by default.

I think this is coming June-July, remember 2015 has Starfox U and LoZ U, those 2 have to be October and November titles. Also they have been working on localization for some time now, so this will come close to Japan´s release.

Got to finish Xenoblade now because this game will trump that and it will be hard to come back to it.

The player avatar can be customized so he or she doesn't have to look aything like the default.

They seem to be going for a certain look and personality with Lynlee (she's a young genius engineer...like Chrono Trigger's Lucca). The stiffness in her manner (like the way she stands) is probably intentional. I noticed they also had her switch animations without in-between frames a few times during the presentation. She's the only one that did that.

Just to be clear, I have zero problem with the characters and the environnment is amazing. The music is a downgrade from xenoblade so far but there are 90+ songs so it's way too early to judge.

And now online questing has been confirmed?
Can't wait!

Starfox U is a mini-game right? I could see Xenoblade September, LoZ U in October or November and Starfox U in December like Captain Toad.

I think they will space out Xenoblade better, it is a huge game, and they usually don´t like to compete with their own games. I will say June-August.

Also remember Starfox U is coming before Zelda.

Character deisgns are a clear step down from Xenoblade C1.

People were complaining about Xenoblade's faces too. I remember those threads very clearly. Then the game came out and everyone was like, "It's Reyn time", and "Don't lose your heads though".

We'll see but the eyes look completely dead in this.

I hope there's a standard look and name for the character. I don't like to do anything to them. I left Robin from FE:A as he was lol

Which is why I would have preferred if he had his own personality like shulk. Hopefully he at least interacts through in game chat and text boxes
