I have a few issues with it that I had known about in advance: it looks like there are oil spots, I'm not a fan of the cut-out button spots, and it feels less sturdy than my TE-S (which was a rock). Do you have any specific questions about the stick?

Ah not really, I owned a KI TE2 but was just concerned about this switch to a thinner plexi..

Just doesn't make sense to me.

Ok, so what I'm gathering from this thread is if you need to change the buttons on the TE2 the spacer rings will be a problem if you don't have the same colour etc.?

Also arts plexi goes under the button not around? Will this cause spacer rings to crack from being tighter?

For a stick that's suppose to be mod friendly it isn't by the sound of things.

The Capcom bag fits the TE2. It's tight, but it fits.

The 2lb spring makes it significantly tighter. Too much IMO.

This past weekend, I just switched it out for Sanwa JLF. I should be getting the springs today though. I'll see how that compares.

As an update, with the Sanwas, I no longer get random inputs. However, I am getting random quarter circle motions for some reason.

I had the first run of switches and the copper pieces are very soft and required me to pry off the quick connectors a lot before clamping them back down.

I believe that issue was fixed with the G2 buttons. The connectors look just like those on the Sanwa OBSF.

Boxed namco, minty, will probably stay that way out of respect, and I have better sticks and setups for use with PS1/PS2.

Tekken3 stick, no box, found at a local used game shop, paid $5. Very similar to Namco stick.

Yep. For their price, they were actually pretty solid. Modding them is a complete chore, though. They're just not tall enough to install a Sanwa or Seimitsu lever without heavy-duty tools.

Looks like the Fight Stick 3 or equivalent. I had one of those for the original VF5 release on PS3. I lost that stick when I had left it in the game room at work and the company went out of business.

It wasn't a great stick, just the first available for the PS3. All Hori parts and no room for anything else.

Yeah... It's pretty clear where the new standards are headed. Sturdy, heavy and big sticks for lap play. Easy access to modding it.

The smaller and simpler sticks are being phased out. Kind of a shame since some of these were great as an intro to fight sticks. It wasn't great but it was a great way to test out if I liked sticks or not.

You have to pretty much invest in them if you want to try them out now. Does Madcatz still make the SE's?

A retro remake would have to make concessions somewhere. Sanwa buttons are too big for the thing. The ones I saw modded always end up with space between the baseplate and the chassis.

Modded this one with an LS-56 and PS-14-G buttons. I switched from an octagonal gate to a square due to accuracy issues.

This one is modded out the wazoo. All PlayStation systems, XBOX 360, PC, Dreamcast. Shout outs to Gummo for the work.

That is once nice color, design, and art combo. While I like Mad Catz's nicer Swana sticks and design ideas I wish they would produce something to answer the VLX or better in the $300-$500 price range. I feel that would eliminate any build quality concerns anyone could ever have. Instead I'm buying two VLX's. And I know how they feel about targeting the above $200 price range. But would I buy a $400 stick with that Ken art, button color combo, size of stick, Swana parts, with VLX or better build quality? Hell yes.

It won tech talk award on SRK for the XB1 last year. They struggle to keep them in stock. There are obviously a lot of fans.
