No melee kills? Wtf. I'm not a fan of panic knifing, but now it's been gimped to damage only?
Good.

I will stick to consoles thank you very much. As for sitting in lobbies, I don't. COD games have the quickest matchmaking I've seen.(on console of course)What they can do is offer both. That way people that cant figure out browsers can click the DURRR button, and the rest of us can play the game the way we want.
If server browsers are so hard for you, you should probably stick to console gaming. Enjoy sitting lobbies and waiting for game to start. Two maps to vote for and neither you want. Then as the lobby counts down people leave so the count down timer has to start all over again. God that sounds so fun. I cant wait to experience that again from blops 2. Absolutely exciting.
- Balanced BO2 matchmaking returns, not the skill-based matchmaking from AW
- Maps are not vertical like AWs, all about keeping the action at ground level
It amazes me that people don't want browser support when games like CSGO offer official ranked servers and the ability to host your own plus whatever files you want.
Cod 4 did great on PC and thousands of people are still playing it just fine. I can boot it up, join a server, and play until I am bored. Thats what servers bring. I can select what I want. Its not confusing or hard. thats what allows games to last. You arent bound to a population of a playlist, but the population of the entire community.EDIT: Think about it this way, do you think its a good idea to have people sort through thousands of custom playlists just to find a match? Most don't. COD is primary a console game and there's where the fanbase is at. Considering the games continue to sell millions and million every year and I've never heard anyone complain about playlists.
You want to create a custom playlist that bans some guns/perks/killstreaks/maps...etc, right? That's what I'm getting from your posts.
All I'm trying to say here is that I disagree about this being a necessary feature, especially on console.
Why were older PC games able to function with server browsers then if this was such a huge problem? Because it wasnt a problem. It was a small group of people in the corner.I wouldn't mind both. Just let me use the playlist/matchmaking feature for TDM/KC with my friends on Treyarch servers, and have community dedicated servers as an option. I'm generally a fan of player run dedicated servers, but the COD community really pissed me off me during the Blops 1 days. I got kicked/banned daily for either being better than whoever, or... for jumping. I'm not even talking about those stupid-ass crouch-only servers, regular HCTDM servers would ban or kick me for pressing the space bar. It was incredibly annoying.
The very clear exception that proves the rule exists. Bad ports like that are exactly why development isn't handled Shadow of Mordor style for cross gen.Not true. Shadow of Mordor on last-gen had a seriously watered-down version of the Nemesis system, which was the game's main selling point. Instead of holding the game back on current gen, the 360 & PS3 versions suffered so current-gen could shine.
From GamesRadar: "Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor developer Monolith Productions told IGN today that they’re focusing more heavily on the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game. Specifically, the game’s ambitious AI system, dubbed “Nemesis,” will be somewhat diluted in the previous-generation versions, because they’re just not quite equipped to handle it. Considering that the developers have specifically referenced the Nemesis system as the game's big, next-gen feature, this makes sense."
Activision/Treyarch probably want to push the boundaries on current gen to get people to finally upgrade. Less players on old consoles = bigger player base spread across fewer platforms. At any rate, only current-gen and PC versions of BO3 have been confirmed so far.
This is exactly the kind of thing that I don't understand why people would want it in COD.(or any game really)I wouldn't mind both. But you dont get all the maps. I have never played certain maps in blops 2 ever. I never have. Because people never go near them because of thee lobby system.I said its unnecessary. It's much better to just click on a game mode you want to play and it has all the maps and everything enabled, how the developers intended.
All I'm trying to say here is that I disagree about this being a necessary feature, especially on console.
Sorry, but it is. All of the console games I've gotten serious into multiplayer have had server browsers. SOCOM 1-CA, Star Wars: Battlefront 1/2, Warhawk, Battlefield 3/4.
Having a server browser, in addition to quick match, greatly improves the end user experience by allowing you to pick your own server based on relative ping, location, rules, maps, modes. I get more consistent connections playing Battlefield 4 than I do Advanced Warfare.
Because when it rains money from a game trend, it pours. We've got a lot of future FPS games now.I'm getting more and more excited. Unlike some, I really love the future soldier themes. I mean, we got 4 games with "modern" themes. 4-5 games with early to mid 1900s weaponry and themes. And we get 1 and a half sci-fi themes And people flip out. I don't get it.
Code redeem site is too slow.
Is the site gonna explode?
What's the rush? the beta probabley isn't starting until September or October.
Here's a more robust list of new info since yesterday. Lots to take in.
Campaign
Co-op
- The story begins 5 years after the events of Black Ops 2
- Campaign protagonist is fully customizable (male or female) and fully voiced (not at the expense of the campaign, think Mass Effect)
- Full XP progression system for the first time in Campaign
Multiplayer
- Every single moment of the Campaign is co-op, hop-in/hop-out; AI bots when playing alone
- Your teammates can see what you see via "omni-aware vision"
- Co-op won't lock out friends who haven't unlocked the map you're on yet
Zombies
- Beta is for current-gen and PC only, no old-gen versions announced
- Melee takes 2 hits to kill now, no more panic knifing
- MP playable at E3 confirmed (bodes well for Treyarch's confidence)
- Nine total Specialist characters in MP. They have their own backstories, power, and weapons; includes females, two shown today
- Balanced BO2 matchmaking returns, not the skill-based matchmaking from AW
- Modes confirmed so far: Domination, Hardpoint, TDM
- Map design is all about lanes and keeping combat in frame
- Running on walls is smooth and your gun is always up, totally optional and feels like parkour
- Dolphin Dive is not returning, replaced with slide mechanic
- Pick 10 system is back, not using AW's Pick 13
- Maps are not vertical like AWs, all about keeping the action at ground level
New Functionality/Modes
- Full XP progression system in Zombies for the first time
- Zombie on Gamestop poster looks a bit like Agent Hudson from BO2
- Mark Lamia said Zombies will be bigger and better, worthy of its own game and will be mind-blowing for Zombies fans
- Lamia said Zombies will provide years of fun during the #TheRace interview; more info coming later
Movement System
- All-new Friends system that you can create outside of XBL/PSN/Steam without being friends on those platforms
- Groups can switch between co-op/MP/Zombies without having to back out and load into a different mode (!!!!)
- Gunsmith feature lets you customize your guns more than any other COD, five attachments per gun
- Paintshop feature allows up to 64 layers on three sides of a gun, most customizable skins yet
- Theater Mode is confirmed
- Gore/dismemberment shown in both Campaign and MP
PC Version
- Thrust jumps are reportedly very subtle, slow, and nothing like AWs vertical boost jumps
- No side-boosting, reverse-boosting, or forward-boosting like AWs Exo boosts
- Gameplay is "feet on the ground 90% of the time"

I'm very surprised by this. It is a radical departure from the Call of Duty formula in many ways. I watched the trailer and was thoroughly confused by it all and the more I read the more I'm intrigued.
I swear to god this happens in every COD, the details makes it sound like its going to be great, but then when you see the game is just looks like typical COD. KOTICK!!!
So do I, Black Ops is still my favorite COD with BO2 close behind.I have way more faith in Treyarch than IW or Sledgehammer.

but yeah this one does look like it could finally change the formula.
Really wish Call of Duty wasn't an annual release. Activision should give IW and Sledgehammer the boot.
Their titles sell milions. And score well. I mean, this is a business.
You can switch to your combat knife for one hit knife kills.
Am I reading right that you select a "pre-selected" character for MP matches? As in you can't customize your MP player anymore? Sorry if it's been addressed, I'm not familiar with MOBA games and how they work.
Well, player operated dedicated servers are generally good places to create and maintain a community. You'll be able to go back to that same 25ms server and see many of the same faces, and know you're in a place that won't tolerate bullshit and all that. The negative feelings I have towards Blops 1 comes directly from that particular community. Even though I have a ton of bad experiences, I still had a few servers that I could call home. I'll take that over your average p2p connection any day of the week.
Correct. Drift0r made a 16-minute video detailing how the Specialist system works. He played every Specialist character available and tried every ability during the hands-on event at Treyarch. Everything is super customizable as usual, plus now you get this extra layer to your character with a specific weapon or ability (you can only pick one):Selecting characters for Multiplayer doesn't suddenly turn Call of Duty into a MOBA. In any case, I'm pretty sure those characters will be customizable in and of themselves. Perhaps not to the degree of the campaign main character, but they're pushing customization harder than ever. And I don't think they want a multiplayer match where everyone looks like the same person.
Yeah I don't believe this. They said the same for AW, and its P2P most of the time. Here's a more robust list of new info since yesterday. Lots to take in.
PC Version
Yeah they sell, but I remember seeing something about sales declining after each new release.

No rentable server? No server Browser? PC version is not a priority.
Black Ops 1 and 2 also had dedicated servers for Ranked on PC. It's probably too soon to go into details on server browsers or rentable servers, but they've confirmed there's a dedicated PC team at Treyarch working on the game. Drift0r played it on PC and has his thoughts in this video... says he'll probably be buying the PC version.Yeah I don't believe this. They said the same for AW, and its P2P most of the time.

If he is why don't the PC players have the essentials? A server browser has been what the PC community has been asking for ever since they removed it. That and rentable servers. The AW devs only said they would be supporting dedicated servers, but never specified in what way or which platforms.
Big difference from the statements Treyarch has been making.
Also one of the Treyarch leads is a huge PC fanboy so there's a reason to believe it.

Dont think we should give them that much credit.MP playable at E3 confirmed (bodes well for Treyarch's confidence)
