Just how good is the de-aging of Michael Douglas.

Holy shit, so good. Opening scene, right out of the gate -- bam, there's young Michael Douglas, fully lit and looking great. Light years beyond any other CGI de-ageing effort; no Tron Legacy here.

Is it me or does Ant-Man have a small marketing budget? I see more Fantastic 4 commercials than I do for Ant-Man.

Polar opposite for me. I actually haven't seen a F4 commercial in weeks, while Ant-Man is quite literally everywhere.

It seems like there's more Fantastic Four posters and marketing material than Ant-Man here in my country, but there haven't been a single Fantastic Four TV commercial, while Ant-Man has started to show on TV.

To be honest, I didn't even notice it until the scene was over. As in, I knew it was Michael Douglas, but it didn't register that his face was modified. I only realized it the next time we saw him in the present.

So is it worth seeing it in 3D or na?

I would recommend 3D tickets for this one. The effects are well used for depth and the film remains bright throughout (no massive darkening that I noticed).

It's really that impressive, your mind doesn't question the fact that young Michael Douglas is on screen.

Let me be the first to say i am devastated at the OT tagline, it should be Ant-Man |OT|: "What is this an OT for ANTS?! It has to be at least… three times bigger than this!

So it'll start with a break up and losing custody of the kids (does he have kids in the movies? I have no idea). After the court proceedings, he finds Pizza-dog injured in the rain. Smash cut to opening credits. Smash cut to the start of the best marvel movie.

So it's gonna randomly cut to Winter Soldier?

As for the rest of it, I dunno. That relationship looked sturdy enough that to just have it randomly break apart would be sorta odd + very One More Day-ish.

My small local theater is keeping Minions! I'm pretty bummed and disappointed. I didn't get advance tickets at the multiplex for this reason.

Saw it last night on the IMAX BIG SCREEN 3D OF AWESOMENESS (no, seriously, the IMAX pre-showing talkups are hilarious).

It felt a little slow in the middle, and the fight scenes were awkward to watch from time to time, but the incredible visuals were totally worth it, the jokes were good (even if the trailers spoiled probably the top 2-3 best ones), and the overall acting was good.

Little sad we didn't get a younger Hank Pym, but I loved the interaction between him and Stark.

In terms of less mainstream movies, I'd rank it below Guardians of the Galaxy, but still one of the "Good" MCU Movies.

I saw it in IMAX 3D also. There's one particular scene where the 3D shines. If you were seeing in 2D you'd get to this part and be thinking "this would have looked awesome in 3D".
I'm taking my 8 year old son to see it again in VMAX 3D this weekend so I guess I liked it.

This might be as good a place as any to ask, but whose movie reviews do y'all read? I look at the RT numbers, but I'm never sure which reviews to actually read.

I don't read Movie Reviews anymore. I'll judge a movie myself first. Even on GAF if someone is offering their impressions I just skip it until I've seen it myself.
