So besides the mysterious possible Zygarde forme, there's a new Pokemon too?

That said, she did say the green was possibly Zygarde green.

Man, I like not knowing things. It makes me happy.

Huh, I just realized the odd coloration of Zygarde's shiny. Regular Zygarde has its left wing match the color of its head/frill and its right wing the body color. In shiny it's reversed, the left wing is the color of the body while the right wing is the head/frill.

since TPC is hot on the esport scene they need to introduce legendaries breeding or ban them from tournamnets, to discourage hacking

Isnt any pokemon designated legendary auto banned from VGC regardless of how good it is?

Nope, its just box legendaries (except Suicune) and event legendaries (including Phione, poor bastard lol).

Personally I feel that they should just make it so when you catch a legendary, it has 5 31 IVs (not 6 in case you need a Trick Room mon) That would remove the tediousness of soft reseting by a lot!

Also I hope whatever Zygarde gets is actually good statwise. Zygarde is quite possibly the most gimped legendary thats banned on Battle Spot in AGES. The poor thing is totally outclassed by Garchomp, and don't even get me started on how screwed Zygarde is in Ubers >_>.

Even the color of it's body pattern is reversed.

We're not meant to have perfect Pokémon, that's the thing. I think 3 guaranteed max IVs is a happy compromise. One I wouldn't have made in Game Freak's position. Though this is a discussion for another topic.

Someone on /vp/ is speculating that Game Freak might be changing up how they release new Pokemon every gen. By having a smaller batch in the 1st version of the game (only 70 or so in X/Y, compared to the 100-150 we usually get), and having another batch in the 2nd version (say, 20-30 in X2/Y2 or Z or whatever it'll be called), they can keep hype levels running high for each game. Also, it could alleviate the feeling of having a bunch of the new roster being filler.

I know GF said that the Megas were just about the equivalent of new Pokemon, but you know what people are like. I do at least expect a few more new Megas.

I wonder... Maybe Zygarde is actually made up of many of these things? Not sure if it's all green or green and black, but it seems to has similar colours anyway. Maybe it's not an entirely new Pokemon.

Small green drones send out by Zygarde to monitor the ecosystem. Then someone ruins the ecosystem so Zygarde goes on a rampage with a new forme and thus Pokémon Z, a new movie or something like that.

Wouldn't surprise me at all!

Mega Evos indeed count as new Pokémon, so XY actually introduced 100 new Pokémon total. ORAS added another 21 so gen VI has already introduced a whopping 121 new Pokémon so far, more than gen II and IV. And now another 2 new ones that have been teased. Gen VI just keeps on giving <3

Yeah. Mega Evolutions are essentially un-numbered new Pokémon. They require the same design work, care and attention to balance as new Pokémon.

I said something similar in the Zygarde thread. I really hope this is what Gamefreak is going for, Kalos needed more original Pokemon.

I don't think it's a new form of Zygarde, it just wouldn't make sense to make a smaller, cuter form of it that would likely be weaker than the base form even, it'd just be so pointless.
My theory is that Gen VII is going to launch in Spring 2017 and since the 2016 movie would be the last Pokemon movie before then they decided to throw a new Pokemon in there for some early promotion.

I saw someone hypothesize that the green blobs are Zygarde's scouts, or something similar. In the pokedex it says that it's watching over the environment. What a better way to watch a large area than using scouts. Maybe they all combine with Zygarde to form the 'true' forme.

Gamefreak has shown new Pokemon before the current Gen has finished before.

Other Legendaries like Manaphy and Diancie also have them, so why not Zygarde.

Manaphy has only one form, you can breed it to get Phione, but that was there from the beginning and it's a different Pokemon, and Diancie started off in it's smallest/weakest form. Creating a new form of Zygarde at the end of the generation that is weaker makes zero sense.

Unless GF does something weird and lets the player gain the weaker form early on in the next game and through story mode it can eventually achieve the base and upgraded forms of Zygarde.

Personally I think this thing is just a minion that watches the enviornment for Zygarde and may not even be capturable.

Well, no real reason for the majority of baby Pokemon anyway.

Tyrogue is really the only one that has an actual point
