Halo MCC Season 2 Finals Plagued with Issues - Numerous Disconnects Mid-Match

If your mother or yourself doesn't own an Xbox than yes it's not functional. If you own one then it does work. Just have to pick your agenda.

There are numerous people who still have issues with MCC's multiplayer despite that it has been over a half year since launch. Why do you have such a huge problem with that?

Holy hell, man. Are you still pushing this line? I saw you chose not to reply to the whole, factual retail evidence aspect, or the continued list of documented issues that don't align with your specific line of intent.

It doesn't even come across as subtle. You're now accusing people who have legitimate issues as pushing an agenda. Are you kidding?

I do believe some people have problems with it. I'm offering help by allowing them to party up with me. I haven't had a problem connecting into matches for months. Some people love to push the agenda that the game doesn't work. I'm offering them a chance to play that game. Thats all. Otherwise I take their words with a grain of salt and having an agenda. Sorry.

H4 may have the best campaign, but it has the most criticized multiplayer of the series.

Halo has a legacy as a cornerstone of the Xbox Live community. I think Halo CE was the primary driver of the original Xbox even surviving and Halo 2 was the primary driver behind Xbox Live's early success. IIRC, H3 even held its own against COD in terms of weekly player count for a long time. It is (was?) Microsoft's most critical community-building game and the team overseeing its development has made immense mistakes on two big entries.

If H5 is anything less than flawless then I think the only way Spencer could get the community to give the franchise another chance would be to get new leadership in 343.

My sentiments exactly. The Halo series is the reason I'm still an Xbox owner after all these years (11 according to my XBL stat) and MCC was the main driver for me getting a couple of X1s for the house.

It's not an agenda, some mass hallucination, or belief. It's fact. Have you not even read the OP where a competitive event was plagued with connection issues? You're the one that comes off with an agenda to me.

It's not a fucking agenda, it's a well documented fact.

Stop being a goddamn moron.

The slurplejerk is real...

I don't even own a PS4, only PS3 I had died after not even using it for 3 months. Never had a PS2. Been with Xbox since the OG, went through countless 360s and got a white One.

MCC is a fucking broken train wreck.

Bu but but gaf is constantly telling me is fixed!

So every player having issues should join your lobby and it will magically work? Good to know, especially since the Roster System was broken for more than a week.

Wait, the game still isn't fully functioning? What the living fuck.

Matchmaking is still not particularly fast (at least not compared to competitors) but other than that it's functional. It's missing a couple of features it probably should have by now, like partying-up after matches - but whether that's a critical omission is really up to each person and something you should consider before buying.

No I just think that the people complaining don't actually own the game. And yes party up with me my connection will get you into any match.

How are you still calling this an agenda? It's documented. These are facts. This stuff happens. Them talking about the issues they have experienced and are continuing to experience is not an agenda.

"Calling people out" or accusing them of having an agenda is just bullshit. I cannot believe the lengths you're going to try and justify this.

You've still failed to acknowledge the fact that these issues go way beyond people on this forum, as though your unique experience is at all a reflection of the larger problems simply not existing.

I don't apologize that I've have had no problem playing mcc. But it you want to call me out pm me! We can play the campaign together or maybe hit up duels!

Stop skirting the problem, which is your abhorrent behavior of accusing people of having agendas without basis. Your alleged very good internet connection is the exception to the rule, meaning that it is not representative of the average connection quality of the MCC userbase.

If you don't want to see GAFers complaining about MCC on the forum, then go to 343i's twitter account and tell them to fix the multiplayer.

Did you ever pay the Halo MCC OT a visit? Maybe in the last few weeks? Try again with your accusations afterwards.

Bigger than Driveclub for me.
One of the biggest fuck ups I can remember, period.

It's a shame, because when the MP works it's just so good.

I completely agree with you. It's funny that you compare MCC to Driveclub as this gen's biggest fuck up because MCC got a complete pass by the gaming media and still sits at 85 metacritic while Driveclub got completely lambasted and has not recovered in the general public's eye even though it has been completely fixed and runs beautifully now. MCC is still broken and outside of sites like GAF that tend to be more critical of the goings on in the games industry, no one talks about it. It is another case of a popular, established franchise getting a pass by reviewers.

It's been searching for a BTB match for 4 minutes. I wish I had sauerkraut's mom's internet. :(

I really hope Microsoft addresses this with the Win 10 update. Remove the need for a console to be connected and support traditional LAN. What a disaster.

Start up your Xbox. Click halo. Let me know how long it takes to get into a match. Film it please.

Wait, there's an Internet requirement for LAN play? What possible valid reason is there for this requirement?

No one knows, but it's clearly not needed since Gears will run on LAN without a connection. It's arbitrary bullshit that only serves to make the MCC even worse than it already is.

MCC is miles better right now than it was at launch.

Like others said BTB matchmaking can take awhile. But I don't have any other issues getting into a match.

I feel for the people who bought it and the xbone solely for the MP or co op though. I managed to get through all the sp campaigns while they fixed MP.

Apparently. Though, at least from my experience, it's really difficult to find any official MS documentation detailing how it works, or if it exists.

Great news with Gears UE though.

It took 7:14 minutes for the voting screen to come up then it reset, now it's looking for another player. Lets see if it takes another 7 minutes to get into a match.

I work in retail. I am speaking of customers coming in and returning the game due to continued issues. Best Buy does not normally allow for any returns of open game software; the MCC is the only game in our district that has an existing policy in place to accept returns due to continued issues and the frequency of those complaints.

You challenging me, when I clearly stated that earlier, just shows you're not reading at all, and are just calling people out when they're contradicting you.

It took 9:43 minutes to get into the first BTB match.

Man, this game works so good.

Scratch that, Halo 4 was voted and while shit was loading, it crashed. Back to matchmaking.

LOL

On the twitch stream -- Went back to the screen, controller disconnected, one of the teammates couldn't move, cut back again to the hosts.

Fucking terrible.

I feel this might be due to the population abandoning MCC.

They were smart to remove the # of players playing currently from rosters. I do wonder how many players are playing globally at any given time.

Anybody have an idea on how to calculate that?

So the game is still unreliable even now, so many months later? If so, how did Microsoft/343i have the gall to even host such a tourney? Surely the potential PR fallout from any such issues, are not worth the risk? Add to that, why haven't they fixed it yet? Should they really be working on another game before fixing their last?

I guess he meant DisConnect.

Yea, I would assume so too.

Drive Club was never 343 levels of broken and neither was BF4.

That's nothing, took me 1 and 3/4 hours last night to get 1 game...

Oh, and b4 "hurrrr NAT!!!" cries.

The best method is to compare it to other games in the top 10 games played on live.

Apparently a couple days ago, MCC is in the top 10 (#8 I think) while BF4 was outside the top 10 and had 24k players. So it would have been higher than that.

That said, you can jump on Halo 3 with sub 10k players and find a game in high ranked team slayer faster than MCC and it won't load fail, it won't have the lobby implode before the game starts and it won't end early because the host quit.

Another DC....
It long ago became obvious that no one who makes these sorts of posts has ever actually played Driveclub.

My first guess would be for statistics keeping or for hacking checks via metadata filtering.

You can compare the MCC to the Battlefield games using their positions on the most played list on the marketplace. bf4stats.com shows Battlefield 4 at ~23 000 players on XB1 and MCC is two places higher than it on the most played list so it is at 23 000 minimum right now.

Really? I didn't know this, awesome if true.

Do you have any link to confirm?

I looked here, but...

http://www.polygon.com/2015/6/17/8794939/gears-of-war-ultimate-edition-could-have-an-esports-future

And

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYIGDbfvBlE

Gears UE is the FIRST Xbox One game to have actual, real LAN support. TC had to bug MS to put it in.

...upon closer inspection and unless I'm missing something, they SAY they have real LAN support, but there is no solid confirmation that the LAN support will be shackled to Live or not. If it is then that would be the same crap we already have.

Fuck this game and Fuck 343

I tried 3 times to play Halo 2 Anniversary co op in June and I could not get a successful connection, nor could I get into a competitive match.

And they seem to be done patching it so I guess that's that. I'm not playing it solo.

All hell will break lose if UE doesn't have proper LAN. They've been touting it since E3. They better not fuck up

How does the CoD System Link function? If it functions without one Xbox One having to be online, then we already have LAN support. If not, then we don't.

There's only one post on the Xbox forums and it's back from 2013 saying that the Xbox One doesn't have LAN. I'd surprised if they stealth added that in.
