Sounds like a young kid rather than a female.

The female robot (Chel) is the Ryu archetype of the game.

Dauntless feels like a shout out to Real Steel:

Tragic and chat said it's a girl. Young female most probably.
I kept seeing her in every thumbnail and she is first to select so i thought she were the main.
I liked that movie for some reason. Even the game.

He needed to learn tact. I find too much folks lack tact and can't be helpful.

Something that really plagues the FGC.

It wasn't a polite conversation but it was helpful that he started it.

Try making it out to TOSF HQ on Fridays if you can. The drive shouldnt be too bad. It takes me about 15 minutes from Markham. The variety is pretty good as theres always a good number of people and setups. If you're not sure if a game will be there just bring it with you and start playing on a setup, eventually someone will wanna play. I'll probably be there this week.
I didn't even know about these places, TOSF HQ sounds like it could be close enough to get to. Maybe I'll try to show up this friday after work.

Competitive scenes will always be cliquish, you gotta earn your respect. That's how it is in the real world.

I haven't received my alpha code yet either, but I believe in Seth Killian. He will deliver. I hope he recognizes my gaf name.

get some go again
I fed my daughter a bunch of peas the other day, and there were several of them pretty much still fully formed in her poop later. I guess her digestive system isn't quite advanced enough yet.

My son now eats what we eat but in chopped up form. Its real. Its really real..... Trying to get him to potty train is tough. The boy talks to me about different types of dinosaurs while I wipe his bottom but can't figure out the potty.

i never went to super arcade because it was too inconvenient for me. its not worth it being in traffic over an hour just to play marvel. plus it was hard playing the good players when i went. they usually have a bunch of people around them wanting to play them and i didn't bother.

I under stand why they went with such characters, but damn, those robots designs are more generic than a 90s CG animated tv series.

The person who described it before as Cubix-like was so on point. Couldn't they get someone like Toshihiro Kawamoto or Syd Mead?

Because american internet is ass. Trying to find games online is an another circle of hell on top of everything else that fighting games are.

Oh and the previous complaints about the lobby system still stand, hopefully only until the next version is out.

More like strictly Canada internet is really bad. I can get 2F in Xrd from socal to vegas. 4 frames with OceanBlue who's east coast iirc.
Anyone I play against in Canada in whichever game feels bad most of the time :(

Gotta appeal to that widest possible audience and hopefully hook several whales to buy all the cosmetic shit for your free game

I'm with you on the designs tho.

Just played Rising Thunder, mostly Dauntless, on keyboard and stick. The game feeling is ok, it reminds me of Killer Instinct for the normals so not incredible (lacks weight?) but totally playable. Playing on keyboard is totally ok and you can land some combos very easily. As for the game itself it's cool to play and very clean for an alpha, but I have the feeling people like us will quickly get bored as finding the most damaging combo is very easy and the game is straightforward. I hope I'm wrong and the upgrade system could help experiment more but I'm waiting for a way to start with everything unlocked as I will not have the patience to grind this.

Generally open at 5:30, but it doesnt begin to get busy until 8:30. It's occasionally open on other days, just watch the facebook updates. We had a bbq last month too, it was pretty sick.

Even though the game has made a bad first impression on some people due to the visual design, I think a lot of people will still give it a shot since it's free. So at least it has that going for it.

Lostconfused, when Jazz-ism wasn't being a jerk, he actually made a good point. You just need to get in there, man, and ease off the rationalization. People make it work for games with waaay higher barriers (oneida immediately comes to mind). Online is fine, I have never jumped on and not gotten a game (and we're in the same region). Also, you would be surprised how generous most people online are with their time if you ask/message them for games. Xrd's community is one of my favorites tbh

edit: also I didn't get into the Rising Thunder beta

It's not that I disagree, I am pretty sure I said the same thing previously anyway. However I can't say that my online experience has been the same, as a lot of the time its what made me want to stop playing.

How does the cooldown on specials work? Is there something on the screen to let you know when a special is or isn't usable? How does the online play feel compared to other games?

Err, sorry, just really curious about the game.

Yeah, it could be nicer (I like Persona's lobby system better), but it's okay. You should see Yata's lobby system, man. That's some real doodoo

You have 3 symbols (alpha, beta, gamma) near your meter that goes on cooldown with numbers counting down when you use them. Those 3 symbols represent your 3 special moves.

Some moves essentially don't have a cooldown like Chel's fireball.

However you can't see the cooldowns of your opponent.

If you go online expecting to win, your gonna have a bad time. It's important to go into online with the proper attitude, focus on improvement rather than than wins.

We still don't have a location for Necalli or his player card, right? Notably absent from the press release too. Definitely getting the feeling he's the boss.
