Despite Doom's basic and debatable juvenile aesthetic with it's in-your-face satanic imagery and viscera, Doom's gameplay, level layouts, enemy design and encounter design and composition is high-tier and extremely intelligent.

Funnily enough that was my only win in the 4 matches I played lol. If you have the channel name pass it my way.
Just going off what you said he does sound like a sociopath, the game changes I'm basically with Pat- I just dislike adding mouselook.

finally got the code and played 4 mathes and lost 2 to chel against my Talos.
She owns him it seems.

Brutal Doom visually made me sick. I don't know if it was Pat's spastic mouse movements or how unappealing the changes are to me, but that isn't a Doom I ever want to play.

Well it was the best game Rare's put out since DKC2 and arguably the second best Star Fox game so
I don't think that's true at all. I'm not even a big fan of Banjo and I know its the greater quality game. I will admit my hate for Adventures could very well just be my hate for the crazier side of it fanbase.

Holy christ, what a stretch.
DKC2 was incredible, Starfox Adventures was just okay, about the same as Banjo.

Conker was good though, but still no DKC2.

Well, I mean its true. I don't think any of the N64 Rare games are good. Adventures also aged better than those games, though that's just stating the obvious at this point.

Conker and Diddy Kong Racing are pretty decent though.

I respect your opinion, I think you are insane but I respect it. Also I forgot about DKR, that game was great.
Conker aged really well in my opinion, compared to pretty much all N64 games.

Adventures looks really solid and visually I do like it, but it's so vanilla in an uninteresting way.

But saying that adventures could be the second best Star Fox game compared to original and Star fox 64 is a stretch. At least in my opinion.

Aesthetically, Conker holds up really well compared to other n64 games, but mechanically its no better than Rare's other collectathon stuff and the level design isn't much better either. You can even make the argument that Conker is a much more interesting game than Adventures and I'd agree with you. But mechanically, I like Adventures much more. Combat in their adventure games has never been a strong point of Rare, but at least its competent in Adventures. I also prefer Adventure's linear, but content-filled design to it's N64 counterparts open world design, but that's just me.

I'll also never deny how insane my opinions are lol.

64 is definitely the best, but I think a legit argument can be made that its better than original Star Fox, or at least it holds up way better. Adventures is better than Assault and way better than Command Mission at the least.

But you have to realize that Adventures is also not a real Star Fox game.

I know its just an adventure game with Star Fox slapped onto it, but I still consider it a "Star Fox" game, even if it didn't originally start out that way and mechanically is super different.

I don't mind when games in a franchise switch developers/genres. Metroid Prime is an example of that and its pretty great and I'd still consider it a Metroid game, even if its nothing like the old Metroid.

If i'm not mistaken, prime was meant to be a Metroid game eh? Unlike Adventures which was a different game.

I've been gone a little bit, so here you go.

Astro Boy was an alright LP, but they just tuned out the final bits of where they needed to start searching and reading dialogue. It made a bit hard to watch. Asking where do I go when they just told you where to actually go. The game itself seemed way more interesting than I thought it would be, and the gameplay was Treasure being Treasure.

Starfox is Starfox. Liam is being good at games and his positive self seeing the alright shit Adventures does. I think the game looks very boring compared to regular ass Star Fox, but whatever. I'm surprised there isn't a bit more straight dumping from Woolie or Matt.

RE3 looks to be shaping up to be good. It's always an alright time with RE. Pat's not showing off any pro speed strats though due to unfamiliarity or murdering things with freeze rounds, so I hope we get a bit of that later.

Woolie vs Reboot is weird since I know nothing about Reboot and the LP is already dead.

I might of posted about Ride to Hell, but whatever. That ending was a bit more climatic than the real ending to me at least. Ride to Hell is weird.

Also it's amazing that Liam was caught on video purchasing Power Play on that Anime North video.

I really dig the re3 lets play because I feel its the first time in a while that we have gotten a lets play with a classic Matt and Pat vibe. We have had amazing lets plays by them recently but this has a certain feel. Similar to that of there Re4 or Deadly Premonition lps.

Wrestle Angels Survivor is a neat game. It uses a card system for gameplay but also contains the kind of detailed single player management mode WWE fans have wanted in their games for ages.

+1, except I don't think Adventures is any better. I played it as a kid and watching Liam is just reminding me all about why I dislike it.
Awwwwwww yeeeeeee

God damn it. When Liam mentioned Famitsu, in the Nep Nep video, I kinda wanna play at least some of it for Famitsu. Its seems actually seems lika a pretty cool parody thing that somewhat doing its own thing.

How many times have the SBFP gotten you guys into other media?

Thanks to the Astro Boy LP I remembered that Naoki Urwasawa did an entire reimagining of Astro Boy in only the way he could (Naoki is the guy who made 20th century boys and MONSTER)

I just finished reading it before starting the final Astro boy LP episode and It's fucking amazing, just as good as MONSTER.

IT IS FUCKING DARK AS ALL FUCK.

It's called Pluto

Liam wanted to tell people to check out Koe no Katachi but he was talked over :(
Welp, I got some new shit to read.

And as far as things they've gotten me into? Sort of a bit. There's quite a few things I was already interested in prior to them, but they helped reinforce those loves and push me over the edge to try the things I put off getting around to before. Shit like JoJo, all the W101 talk pushing me to get a Wii U, Vita shit, a few mangas or animes they've mentioned, and probably some other shit I don't remember. They definitely helped push me back onto the anime train since I just didn't pay much attention to it and only cherry picked before them. A lot of skimming the surface since I probably hopped back on board when Attack on Titan was making the rounds. Kill La Kill's first podcast mentioned and it as a weekly thing helped. I've just been watching a lot more shit on a weekly basis since then really. Also barely read manga before, but I'm reading a lot more bullshit now. I'm not sure if I would of been pushed into this direction anyway even if I didn't find them, but eh, I was still in that playing field I think. I'd say this community has helped me find more things than they have maybe? At least an equal amount if not more probably.
Kotaku should show up and just be slow to every conversation/joke.

I want this to exist and I want them to be a cliche idiot who reports on anything and everything any character says. They should also be busty because america.

Rising Thunder is fantastic.
Having an online fisticuffs is weird.

It's a bit weird but if its a good fighting game than I actually would actually prefer it. There are times when I get a bit tired seeing Woolie win the matches the majority of the time against the other guys.

I MUCH prefer if they just wait... At least until they have local... The goal of FNF is to have an authentic feel of having buddies on the couch playing fight games with you from what Pat said. Its gonna be terrible if its online.
