Donald Trump, apparently assuming he will secure the White House, tweeted on Monday evening that he would reverse the decision announced by President Obama to change the name of Alaska's Mount McKinley back to the traditional name Denali, saying it is an affront to the Buckeye State.

"President Obama wants to change the name of Mt. McKinley to Denali after more than 100 years. Great insult to Ohio. I will change back!" read the tweet, issued from the account of the real estate mogul.

The Alaskan Legislature has wanted to rename Mt McKinley, Denali since it is how the locals refer to it and it is in the Denali state park. However the members of the congressional delegation of Ohio have blocked their attempts since 1975 because McKinley is from Ohio.

Obama put an end to that. And Alaska is happy but Republicans in Ohio are not.

Because it was its original name. People in Alaska have been campaigning for the name change for awhile now and have been blocked by politicians in Ohio of all places. Alaskans have been informally calling it Denali.

If you go over there, all of the landmarks have native names. Alaskan's themselves refer to it as Denali. It's returning history back to the people that live there.
