Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 is a glitchy mess

Someone bite the bullet and film the unpatched version. Make sure your console isn't connected to the internet!

If you expected this to be good you haven't been following it's coverage this past year.

Also Robomodo, never expect anything of quality from them. They should honestly be developing mobile games instead.

Rumor is that the game initially started as a mobile game, but was moved to consoles.

I feel bad for people who were hopeful this would be good or even average. But then again, this was kind of expected.

H O L Y hell....

I mean all the warning signs are there but it's rare to see it all hit the fan with so much warning.

Activision should be pretty sad about this if that's representative. It should be pulled.

This may sound a bit asinine, but has anyone been playing this today? I'm kind of curious if there's anything of value beyond the glitch fest.

This is hilarious.

This is a box art image if ever I've seen one.

Have you actually played it? Are you seeing any of the same kinds of glitches?

Yes. I've had some glitches, but like I said before, the glitches aren't even the biggest issue. Everything about how it controls, the lack of content, and the bizarre trappings of the online into EVERY aspect of the game are much more damning. You could fix every glitch in the game and it would still feel like the dollar store version of a Tony Hawk title.

STOP! JUST OMFG.

I guess I feel bad for Tony Hawk and for the developers....

Theres no way any creative unit could be happy with what looks like such a broken release. A positive to come out of this could be that this is a turning point for big publishers regarding QA.

Oh who am I kidding?

I mean keep in mind, Robomodo said they talked to ex-Neversoft games to make sure it 'felt right'.

It feels nothing like a Neversoft THPS game or it's been so long the Neversoft guy was like 'sure it feels good' or Robomodo are just liars. I don't know. I just don't have the empathy for Robomodo that people in here seem to have. Like I said, glitches aside, it's still a shit Tony Hawk game.

The head of the studio was on Giant Bomb's live show during E3 and came off like a total bullshit artist. I wouldn't trust anything coming out of that place.

As Sartre noted in his contemplation on Hell in No Exit, the true horror is other members.
I actually find this quite sad.

I'm sure a lot of us remember playing THPS 1 & 2, this is such a travesty.

People have mistakenly placed their loyalty in the brands of IP, like Tony Hawk whatever, or the brand of publishers, like Activision.

Nobody valued developer names, and now so many from that era have been dismantled. Neversoft had to go the brutal "work on what Activision tells you" route with their Guitar Hero work.

It's a thankless route to have to take, for a developer who gave us one of the great series of IP's. It shared the fate of its IP, in fact: to be milked for everything of value until it dies of desiccation.

Video games, everybody.

Good contender for most glitchy game released this year. Even Arkham Knight PC was at least in a more or less working state.

I don't know. NFL Gameday 2001 for PS2 was pretty awesome. A couple things that I have found since playing it..

1. There was a certain pass play where if you ran to the left, you would still throw from your right arm, but the ball would fly up off the screen... So it would basically be throw a hundred feet into the air. 100% pass completion.

2. 100% on side kick recovery. You can do an onside kick and recover it. Lowest power, all the way to the right. I would get the ball back every. single. time.

3. Passed to a WR. Was going for a touchdown since no one was around. The field goal UI came up, and the WR ended up kicking a field goal while running towards the end zone at around the 30 yard line. Got 3 points for that.

I really need to buy a PS2 and a copy of the game again because it is amazing.

But anyway.. I was really hoping this game (THPS5) would be good. I put in a ton of hours on 1-3 back in my time.

I remember that too. Then again, it's his job to put the new game they're working on in a positive light. Everyone does it. He can't say "I don't know guys, we're having some serious problems making this game, but fingers crossed!". He just had the misfortune of having to try and sell Tony Hawk 5.

I played every objective in the first level.

I never found the game to be "broken"

JANKY as all hell
NOT FUN at all

But broken is an overstatement. There was never anything to impede my progress
