But you don't know the scope of what will need to be localized for Genei Ibun Roku. Heck, on the Treehouse stream they were already talking about how crazy it would be to localize all the music the voice actors sing for their characters.

There is no way this comes out before summer 2016 in North America.

Im not denying that, im just saying xenoblade X's localization shouldnt be held as the standard.

That's true, but while taking into account the creative side, you then also have to take into account the technical side of Persona 5 which #FE didn't have to go through:

  • Persona 5 was in development under the corrupt Index ownership, and had to transition to the Sega ownership.
  • A new engine was developed from the outset for Persona 5, which is a huge undertaking.
  • A ton of new high quality Persona/demon models had to be created for next generation platforms, which Hashino cited was a particularly time intensive endeavor.
  • Persona 5 is cited to be a huge game with a large number of environments and such, which is apparent from trailers.
Both games have had their issues regarding how information has been released, and it's fully possible both games were revealed far too early.

I thought the P5 engine was a new version of the one used in Catherine.

And I sure hope that scope does no mean more game time. Persona is already massive with it's 80 hrs stories.

Catherine was made on the Gamebryo engine. As far as I know, they intended to have Persona 5 use the same engine until they realized it would be unfeasible to do so.

I think it can't handle that many NPCs (by how many, refer to the post with vid) without compromising one or combination of the following: framerate, res and details.

They'd probably do what every other game in the world does and pare down the number of NPCs. It's no more dramatic than Assassin's Creed III, which was a launch title.

They're localizing the songs, so it's going to be a bit of a localization project.

Are they though? There was no real confirmation of that. Just that it would be a challenge but in what sense? to mesh with dub or to actually dub it? etc.

I still think that music translation comment was just an observation on how difficult it would be and not some confirmation they are translating them. I still think we could see this come here without english va.

New dev blog post. Apparently we should be getting weekly charecter trailers from next week.
Sweet! With the Japanese release date approaching, a media blowout is happening. I like this.

I very much doubt this will not be dubbed, the songs are up for debate, but the game will be dubbed

I agree with this. Would be nice to have both dubs but is NOA so there's a huge chance of J-dubs being cut off since they like to make us want things we can't have.

Also subscribed. This thread is amazing.

NoA has done the opposite of this for years now and included dual audio

Not that I know of. There was speculation before that it might actually be using Persona 5's engine.

It certainly looks like it's running on the same engine. Stylistic differences aside #FE and the PS3 build of P5 look roughly the same, graphically. Though, then again, so does Catherine, if we're perfectly honest and that ran on Gamebryo. Could be either I guess.

Famitsu has some new art and screens. Only posting the designs for the new Mirage Masters (when "fused" with their mirage?) here.

This and P5 next year will be great. I'll be playing Atlus games on current home consoles for once.

What a fantastic design. Over-designed sure, but not in a tacky way, more elegant and fanciful than anything else. The roses as arrows is a great touch and fits with Virion's character.
I can't get over the fact that she reminds me of Xernas, I don't know why.
