ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.

A "funny" game that's actually funny. Haven't played this since I got the Lucasarts Archives Vol. 1.

Loved that package. I wish I still had it. I have Vol. II and III though.

Love this game so much!
Cant wait.
Is it normal to be excited for a game I have already played through countless times?
All we need now are Sam and Max hit the road, full throttle and the rest!

Fuck yeah, add Full Throttle into the mix and we have a party.

Add Hit the Road into that and we have something naughty.

Full Throttle will most likely be the next one for them. Tim Schafer has confirmed that it's what they're trying to do, but nothing have been signed about it yet.

FT unlike DOTT have many 3d rendered assets which is nearly impossible to remaster by DoubleFine without big budget (maybe only on Kickstarter)

Wonder why they didn't save this for Sonys Paris conference.
Do they have something bigger to show? Curse of Monkey Island Remaster? (even though I don't think it needs it)
Or maybe that rumour of an alternate version of The Dig was true?

Well, on top of this game and Headlander, Schafer has said that he's working with two other games. Wouldn't be surprised if at least one if them is a collaboration with Sony, but I doubt it would be based on a LucasArts property.

If Curse of Monkey Island is a thing, I don't think Double Fine will be involved. It will be a Disney joint.

Maybe they reveal it now, and release DOTT at PSX for purchase.

"Hi Laverne, how did you get upstairs ?
Am I upstairs ? I got lost..."

Still cracks me up after all those years. It's not only about the game, it's about the memories of playing it with my friends and trying to solve the puzzles while not dying of laughter at the same time.

"Yoo hoo, Mr. tentacle guy...."

What are the odds of a Simon The Sorcerer remaster if this does well? I wouldn't even know who owns the rights to that any more.

If that happens, it will have nothing to do with this game, since neither Schafer or LucasArts had anything to do with Simon the Sorceror.

I played DotT upon release 20 or so years ago, and I replayed it again this year. I think the puzzles are ok for the most part, with a few being convoluted, but the animation, voice acting, and backgrounds all look great today. And, it's readily playable for those that have the CD, unlike Grim Fandango which always required fiddling and luck to get working on modern PCs.

I'm curious to see how modern players adapt to the game. There's only 1 setting, the house, and even with the three timescapes, it's just one location. That has always bothered me in the game and has always made if feel small. That, and the limited ability to transfer items between timeframes.

It's a great game that is old and archaic at times, but everyone should play it. But, the pixel art holds up, the music holds up, so I'm skeptical of the SE upgrade. MI1 and MI2 needed the upgrade for voices, since no talkie versions existed for CD, and honestly I wish they did Loom SE and a sequel for it instead of this. DotT is great and fine in today's world as long as it is available.

Like Grim Fandango, this shit is probably happening with a little money out of Sony's back pocket. Don't expect Xbox or Nintendo versions.

Definitely. It seems like the projects are only happening due to the tight relationship with Sony and Disney executives, and the willingness to make deals like this happen.

At best they will go to iOS and Android beyond the Sony and PC platforms.

Excellent news! I've been waiting for this for a long time! For some reason this is one of the few classic adventures I haven't played in many years. Just what I needed to get me off my post Life is Strange depression.

I remember loving this the last time I played, but I didn't rank it quite as highly as my all time favorite adventures like the first two Monkey Islands, Gabriel Knight and Grim Fandango. Really excited to see how it will play out after all the years.

Awesome game, but this time I'll wait: Grim Fandango Remastered was a buggy mess on release, so DF won't see my money for a while.

Are they adding anything new, as far as puzzles and such go? I've beat the game so many times I know it through and through.
