Star Wars: In Production [Rumors/SPOILERS for All Films Past, Present, & Future]

Wait, people are reading spoilers from that damn battery commercial? lol

Had to talk about it on Full of Sith today even. Bryan brought up people thinking the commercial was hinting at Rey's parentage.

We also took time out to shit all over that stupid Toys R Us ad, so I'm sure that'll get us (me) some hate mail from angry dads.

BUT: There's an AdWeek article on it - Lucasfilm helped out with that duracell ad. ILM did the effects, Matthew Wood did the sound, and Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum) directed it.

Hmm. I mean, it's likely the line's similarity to that other, rumored one is simply a coincidence, but this nevertheless stuck out to me.

Does anyone have a link to that summary of the Episode VII plot with accompanying pictures from the teasers/production photos?

EDIT: nvm

Frankly, if the film goes down even close to what they have there (which seems likely), I'm gonna love it. It sounds sooooooo good. Super excited :D

I think this is pretty much spot on for the last act of the movie.

http://makingstarwars.net/2015/07/h...the-force-awakens-one-sleeps-and-one-awakens/

I hope JJ manages to do each bit justice. There is like Falcon action, running on ramparts, speeder bikes, free climbing, X-Wing assault, capital ship battle and splosions, lightsaber battle in the woods
And in the middle of this
Han's
death.
It feels very modern Marvel style in that it uses a ton of set pieces rather than concentrate on 2-3. Like here the speeder bike thing is just 1/10 of the final act while it was a major focus in ROTJ. Hope it doesn't end up feeling close to how shitty GENISYS felt in that regard. "Oh here is the armored truck chase, here is the helicopter chase, here is the scene in the weapon bunker, here is the motorbike and bus chase and here is Cynberdyne assault, here is the T-1000 birth scene and now two Terminators are fighting inside the time machine!1!!

Hmm, sounds like Finn gets more lightsaber play than I expected.

I'm now gonna say that I think he will get his hand cut off. I don't think he gets a leg injury, I think he crumbles over due to pain (Similar to the way Luke did actually).

Yeah, I've had a feeling that Luke's the father for a bit now. The only question is if it's revealed during the flashback or when Rey and Luke meet at the end.

From the Hollywood Reporter interviews with John and Daisy:

Well, that answers that. You're gonna know who her parent(s) are by the end of this movie.

...

...and it's gonna be Luke.

Wow, that is a kind of a big deal. They had been so secretive about the sibling aspect (although those of us that dig spoilers already knew), it's quite a surprise that she is acknowledging that now.

Only question now is: Who is the other Skywalker besides Rey?

My money's on
Kylo Ren!

I think Luke being Rey's dad ties together a lot of rumored plot.

It probably explains why she's left alone and why he went into exile: because he knows the Knights of Ren are after him and doesn't want to put her (or any other Force sensitive) at risk.

that Rey and Kylo are Skywalkers was more or less obvious since the characters were announced, that pretty much confirms it.

I still think Rey is Leias, simply because I want a direct line from Padme to Rey, but Luke would be just as cool.
Han being killed by his own son would certainly have a bigger impact.

maybe luke took a rib out of himself and created rey out of that.
I mean a few pages ago someone said there is still 30% of lucas script in this?

Do you know what part of the third act I'm most excited for?

(Spoiler tags for a spoiler thread)

Rey picking up the lightsaber after Finn has had his ass kicked.
It has the potential to both be badass, and emotional.

I really wonder how the exact timeline is going to play out. It would make sense for the Falcon to be on Jakku if it was used to take Rey away from Luke as fast as possible, perhaps even using some form of auto pilot. It would make sense for Han to have participated in the battle of Jakku and that way the planet's location would be in the Falcon.

I just cannot see Han taking Rey away and than just dumping her on Jakku along with the Falcon. But then again if Rey knew the Falcon was on Jakku she could have left at any time, but she does seem to be piloting it when leaving Jakku so there's that.

I guess it would make sense if there are two attacks on Luke, the first one just after Rey was born with Kylo already a student there. Just the empire (first order) attacking on the order of Snoke. Luke asks Han to take Rey away as far as possible, takes her to the falcon and plots a course then heads out to quickly get his own son who is then already captured, Falcon leaves with just Rey onboard.

Kylo is sent to kill Luke years later with the other knights of Ren, which is the shot we see in the trailer. Ah well, I'm excited to find out how the pieces of the puzzle will fall into place.

The Han Journey to TFA book makes it sound like he loses the Falcon to someone.

Just imagine if Luke thought his daughter was dead after finding a ransacked new Jedi temple and his wife's dead body along with a bunch of burned dead children...

I haven't been following the leaks as closely as some of you, but here's my crazy theory. Since a lot of us are assuming that Rey and Kylo are Skywalkers, combined with the fact that Kylo seems to be obsessed with Vader going by the trailer, and the fact that one of the earliest rumors from back when Michael Arndt was on this was that Vader would be brought back from the dead...

What if at some point in this trilogy, Kylo assumes the mantle of Darth Vader?

These nonsense thoughts brought to you by a slow work day with nothing to do

Kind of like Antonio Banderas taking over the Zorro costume for old Anthony Hopkins. I don't have a problem with that. Problem is that without the injuries that Anakin actually had, it would be kind of silly to have the Vader breathing/mask thing since that was really the point of his suit, a walking iron lung.

My guess of the story is:

Finn is on a mission to find out who this new Vader guy is. He finds out it's Leia/Han's son who everyone thought had been killed, but had really been capture by someone because he's the grandson of Anakin and probably a great potential force user (although it's possible Kylo can't even use the force).

Finn tells Rey and Han. Rey is probably Kylo's sister. Han says oh shit, gotta save my son, but I don't have the falcon anymore so I can't fly :( Rey goes to find the falcon.

Han says ok we gotta lure Kylo somehow, he'd never come see me if I asked. They get Anakin/Luke's lightsaber thinking it will draw Kylo. Finn is going to be the bait. But before going, Han says they need to bring someone else along; Luke. Uncle Luke? But no one knows where he is. Leia does. Han tells her about Kylo, she says ok Luke is on loner planet, good luck :~(

They go get Luke who has been hiding because he's afraid of himself and doesn't want to get his buddies in trouble, and they tell him his nephew is going Sith, so Luke says hmm ok I'll go help, but he really has another idea in mind. Also Luke tells Rey about her possible fate due to being in the family (it's even possible Luke had originally trained Kylo but lost him).

They go on whatever planet to draw Kylo somehow, and he comes over. He thinks Finn is some force user somehow and when he's about to fight him Han yells "Kylo stop!". Dad? Wtf you doing here? I brought someone who can help you! Luke appears, and he half-assedly tries to talk some sense into him, but really ends up just killing Kylo. Han goes noooooooooo bastard Luke why! Rey also goes nooo why:| Luke says he couldn't save him, but he really just wants to kill any force users and he knows there must be another behind Kylo. Luke goes away on his own (and possibly with R2) to find out who is behind all this.

Something like that.

Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere or deserves its own thread or whatever, but Red Letter Media put up a video of Rich and Mike's predictions for Episode VII. It's 45+ minutes long.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oifhpT0HZ7Q

I found it pretty entertaining, especially with the conjecture on who's body they think Rey is crying over in the latest trailer, as well as revealing (possibly) who handed Luke's lightsaber to who in one of the earlier trailers.

I'm sure this is old news by now to a lot of you, but for those who are (like me) trying to avoid actual spoilers while still being interested in fan theories, it's a good watch.

Also, as the RLM folks say on their website along with this video to preempt the people who can't wait to point out that the planet we see Rey on isn't Tatooine: "Yes. We now know it's Jakku. Please do comment about it though."

but for those who are (like me) trying to avoid actual spoilers while still being interested in fan theories, it's a good watch.

This is the spoiler thread, though. Like, full blown spoilers in here. All over the fuckin' place, in fact.

Also, I can't actually get all the way through that video, but what I've made it through makes me wonder whether one (or both) of them have read/listened to some shit.

But I can't imagine they'd be willing to do something that bullshit, really. It's only because so many other dickheads have been pulling that exact move in places all over the internet that it occurred to me.

Nah, they make some pretty dumb predictions in the video too. I doubt they'd sprinkle stuff they know amidst all the stuff they get wrong, especially when most of it is wrong. I think some of the stuff in this movie is just going to be that predictable for some people. Like, they think Finn is going to die, and Luke is going to be evil. They also think Kylo is going to be killed off early like Darth Maul. They're way off.

They don't think Luke is going to be evil. They think it's possible, but admit they'd have to be really ballsy to go that route and don't seem to overall expect it, especially with the amount of other confirmed villains this movie has.

my prediction:

snoke (serkis)= apart of knights of ren

kylo = leia and han's son, butt hurt his parents dipped out. obviously wants to finish what grand dad started. in search of luke with knights of ren, killing anyone in his way. slightly force sensitive, mind reads poe to get a location on the reistance plans, maybe even where to find luke. kylo knows little force, but stronger by the end of the movie.

finn = originally a stormtrooper who thought they were doing right in the world or just a resistance spy. finn finds out about deathstar/starkiller plans and escapes in a tie fighter after an attack. He meets up with rey. finn is not force sensitive, YET. somewhere in the movie he gets poe's jacket, before the resistance attack.

luke = not evil or good (hes wearing white and black). rey and finn find luke. kylo shows up, kills luke because luke refuses to use his powers or maybe they suck now. but luke managed to slow kylo down, which is why kylo removed the mask before his fight with finn. rey and finn both barely escape with luke's light saber.

rey = daughter of luke, looking for answers in her life because luke decided to dip out, to keep her safe. eventually finds out shes force sensitive by the end. finn and rey become love birds, racists are enraged once again.

maz kanata = finds rey and finn first after lukes death, shes the one using the "who are you" line from the trailer. she brings them to leia. general leia doesn't believe her brother is dead at first, but hands her lukes light saber as proof.

han = confirms the stories are true. explains why luke left.

leia = the scene with her face on han's chest comes from the fact she finds out kylo is bad OR just scared by the importance of the next attack. her and han have a moment. I feel like leia would be crying if luke died, and han would be crying if chewy died.

chewy = maybe gets hurt, but doesn't die!

who fucking knows though... can't wait for the movie.

If you search hard enough there is a pic of Hamill in costume which Disney have been trying to expunge from the internet. It is him in a 3d scanner for a toy line. And he's definitely not wearing both black and white.

yeah it does look like the jedi brown/white cloak. maybe he still is good, just in hiding?

i also have an thoughts that serkis's character may be reason why kylo is bad, if he is indeed han/leia's son.

Weren't there rumors/news about a possible love interest for Finn being cast/already casted for EP 8? I think the actress' name is Gugu Mbatha or something ... never heared from here before.

E:

Looked up here name, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, she had a role in Jupiter Ascending and other movies/series. Really attractive girl!

Maybe the thread title needs to be switched from Potential Spoilers to ACTUAL FUCKING SPOILERS!

A lot of people coming in with off the mark speculation who may not know that the whole movie has been spoiled for months.
